Our New Years Eve

We were so disappointed when we found out that we didn't have to chaperone the dance.

I legitimately was excited to dance the night away listening to Usher and Lady Gaga but we decided it would be weird to show up to spy on the Brother-In-Law at the dance when they told us they didn't need us to chaperone for them anymore.

So, I got all dressed up......

IMG_3370.JPG

I actually stayed in my pj's all day but at least I had finally washed my hair.  Did I blow dry it? No way.

I was pretty excited because Billy brought home new electronic toothbrushes.

So awesome, it is like a massage for your mouth.

We watched movie after movie and when the clock struck 12 we were half asleep but I did get a New Year's kiss.

At about one a.m. we decided to go to Corky's (a 24-hour diner a few miles away).

IMG_3371.jpg

After midnight all of my inhibitions are out the door and the words 'health,' 'this is going to hurt on your next run' and 'clean arteries' do not mean a thang.

I had a vanilla milkshake and a roast beef dip.

IMG_3375.JPG

IMG_3377.JPG

This morning we woke up and for my MIL's birthday they always bring home ridiculous amounts of donuts and watch the rose parade.  I like this tradition.

No gym/running today.  Family comes first.

IMG_3380.JPG

I need some broccoli and spinach.  I feel hungover from food. Back to real life tomorrow:( boo.

Best way to start the New Year: Late night fried food, donuts and no running.  Hopefully this isn't a predictor of the year to come.

What did you do for New Year's Eve?

Any New Year's traditions?

What is your favorite donut?

Maple bar without a doubt. I want to buy the maple frosting and drink it.

We stayed in, too, watching old Beavis & Butthead DVDs. ha! Mature, right?

Okay, I have to ask because I've seen you mention it several times in the few short weeks I've been following your blog... What is your aversion to hair washing??? lol

I thought of you last night because I made homemade pizza and homemade gluten free pizza! it was the best way to spend New Years! We also had salad and ICE CREAM! I just had another bowl today it was so good and I usually never eat ice cream in the winter!! Today is usually just a day to lay around and watch the bowl games! my dad loves to watch the rose bowl, I usually just lay around in my pjs!

the littles went to bed as usual and we were in bed by 10:30!! We never even went out before we had the girls, so it's nothing new. I have always wanted to go out and do something but it never happens!! Maybe in a few years!

I love the random people in the background of the picture at the diner! Awesome!!

For New Year's Eve we made dinner at home with a bottle of wine and watched some DVDs. That has actually become our New Year's Eve tradition.

My favorite donut is a chocolate old fashioned. mmmmm

Happy New Year! I love that y'all took a family trip to the diner. There's a place in Dallas that has the best donuts - I love the blueberry cake and chocolate chip donut holes. When I was a kiddo, I'd get the old-fashioned cream filled which was a huge glazed donut with vanilla pudding filling.

chocolate crullers and sugar twists!

We don't have any New Year's traditions--with J being a police officer, he is usually working. We did have smooch and then pie & ice cream at 4am when he came home, if that counts. :)

Fav donut would be Krispy Kreme glazed, warm and fresh right off the conveyor belt. 2nd would be chocolate cake style. Mmmmmm.

I totally want to snatch your fries!! I'm literally salivating seeing all the tasty morsels you are eating on your vacation.

My favorite donuts are the powdered sugar ones...either cake or regular. I haven't had a donut in YEARS! What is WRONG with me!!

we finally made it back home after criss crossing the country about 7.4 times. we were so tired that we were in bed asleep by 8:45. in fact, some friends who wanted to ring in the new year with us tried calling, texting, and even drove by our house. we were dead to the world. 2011? it'll still be there in the morning....

we are the life of the party. for sure.

How fun! I love that you guys went to the diner after midnight. It's a good thing I get to see you when I get back to P-town because I'm not too stoked otherwise...bleh. I hear it's freezing and snowy. And who wants a schedule again? Not me...I pick pj's until at least 3pm please.

We actually made an effort to go out for diner and continued drinking wine at home and watching episodes of Kendra and The Kardashian show (whatever the name is!) until midnight. We gave eachother a kiss and went to bed at 12h01! ha ha

Sounds like the perfect NYE to me! Do you guys have a Krispy Kreme? Maybe it is just a North Carolina thing. Anyways, they have the BEST doughnuts. I love the hot plain glazed!

New Year is low key these days. Nice dinner with the in laws, and off to bed before midnight. We did tape the 'ball drop' as my son wanted to watch it. Def not as exciting as yours. Those donuts look amazing!

My favorite donut is a double chocolate cake donut from Donutland.

Bud and I ate dinner with friends, went home, and fell asleep on the couch. I did get two kisses--one at 11 (just in case we didn't see midnight) and another at midnight when we woke up just before the clock struck. It was a very lovely night.

I spent new years with friends. We watched the NYC Ball Drop (11pm in Chicago), I took a quick nap, and then woke up for our Chicago New Year's! Sparkling wine and kisses, but with a blanket & catnap as well. Happy New Year's!

I just hung out with the kids and watched Dick Clark from Times Square. I danced and sang like a fool to NKOTB and BSB. I wish we had donuts. My favorite is anything from Dunkin Donuts, which you can't really get around here.

Ha-I'm with you on the Maple frosting!

My NYE's are traditionally spent in t-shirts much like the one you're wearing. Hotness! I decided to get wild with the sparkling water this year though. I swear my eyes are even bloodshot from the stuff....

I'm game for the sub 3 in St. George!! I have a plan. I will carry your gels, water, absolutely WHATEVER you need and you can carry me on your back:) Unfortunately, I will have to make you sign a waiver releasing me from your impending back surgery medical bills.....

Enjoy the detox tomorrow!!

healthy habits back tomorrow hopefully?

How disappointing. Good thing you were still exciting young married people and half-fell-asleep ;)

I can't talk. Josh had a bug and was puking all NYE so we did not do anything either. Sitting around in PJs is always good tho!

Where's your black hoodie from? It looks really cute. I love the close up of your sandwich & fries. Makes me want fries.

New Years Eve was a little lame because I was sick, but starting to feel better. We played some Wii, watched the ball drop, went to bed seconds later.

Favorite donut: A local apple orchard makes apple cider donuts that are fantastic when fresh and hot! I also like this kind from Dunkin Donuts-- it is a cake-like donut w/a little chocolate frosting on top, and white frosting (not boston creme) inside.
