Sharing Closets and Homemade Pizza

When I got married the number one thing I was most worried about was..........

No longer having 5 closets of clothes anymore.  My roommates and I SHARED everything.  It was the bomb to always have 5 completely different closets to choose from.

I thought this was going to be a problem in our marriage but it turns out that it isn't.  I actually look pretty darn good in male clothing.

I caught Billy wearing my Vibrams.  Yes, we are the same shoe size and there is nothing wrong with that (just keep telling yourself that Janae).

IMG 5046

He caught me wearing his basketball shorts for the 12th day in a row (I am telling you, getting ready and looking like a grown-up is overrated.)  I have been known to 'borrow' many of his t-shirts, socks, his Diesel coat and lets just be honest here....his razor.

IMG 5047

Good thing my calve muscles (or lack thereof are completely uneven and that is toast in my hand, never leave home without it).

I guess the whole getting married thing was a good idea because my worst fear has been solved by just borrowing all of my husband's clothes.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not going to lie but I had a lil' bit of a set back.  PT was going really well and things were definitely improving and then it started hurting really bad again and we had to take a few steps backwards.  I know this is normal in the recovery process but it is hard to see it that way when you are in the situation ya know?!?!

How does a Mormon girl drown her sorrows away.......make pizza of course.  I used this recipe HERE. There is no problem in the world big enough that a big ol' slice (or 4) of carbohydrates layered with cheese doesn't fix.

IMG 5049

You know you are cool when you use your own body as a table.

IMG 5053

The only veggies in the house right now are spinach and broccoli so I just stuck with pizza sauce and cheese, let me tell you something: it felt oh so right.  I usually make an effort to always have fruit and vegetables at every meal but I just wasn't feeling it tonight.  Plus it takes a lot of grease from food in order to keep my hair so 'shiny.'

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you wear your significant others clothing?

-HECK YES.  Here is the weird thing....if they were black long bball shorts that I bought for myself I would probably never wear them but there is something weird about the fact that I know they are Billy's that makes me feel like a gangsta' and hot stuff in them.

For you emotional eaters out there (ahem me) what food do you use to drown your sorrows away and put a smile on your face?

-Pizza and ice cream solve any problem.  Oh and mac and cheese.

Did you or do you share clothes with your roommates/sisters/friends?

-Growing up my sis and I always shared clothes and I did with my a lot of my roommates too.

Do you ALWAYS have a fruit or vegetable or both with all of your meals?

-I usually really WANT them and so I always include them but last night my soul/mind/body just wanted carbs and cheese and nothing else.

My sister and I didn't want to share clothes, but we did - because we would sneak into each other's rooms and steal them!!! :)

I always wear John's clothes. He always tells me I should just get rid of my comfy clothes, because I never wear mine!

That homemade pizza looks DELISH!! And I am SUCH an emotional eater!! I turn to chocolate and cookie dough, although I have those most days anyway...! ;) And I usually have fruit/veg with every meal, but if I don't want to or can't, I don't sweat it!

And don't worry about the injury!! K, I know that's impossible really, but you're right- it is normal, and I'll keep praying for you friend:)

P.S. If your lovely shiny hair gets that way cos you eat pizza, I need to start eating more!! :D

I love wearing my hubby's clothes. They really are nicer, right?
Emotional eating for me = anything sweet. Candies, cookies, chocolate, watch out. I like ti play this game where I get up, open the bag/box, take out a serving, sit down. And then repeat. Like somehow if I only eat one portion at a time it's ok?

I don't really wear anything of Mike's other than the occational sweatshirt.

You've inspired me to make pizza for dinner tonight. Awesome!

Funny story about sharing clothes with siblings. My brother (who is like 7 inches taller than me and has over 100 lbs of muscle on me) used to steal my t-shirts to wear as muscle tees to the gym. He would always completely stretch them out and make them unwearable, so I had to start hiding them. My sister would never let me borrow her clothes because she thought I'd ruin them. Let's be honest, I probably would.

My husband is 6'5" so we can't really share clothes, even though I'm pretty tall (5'9"). Sometimes I'll wear his t-shirts around the house, though.

When my sister and I lived together we had ONE collective closet... it was awesome. But when I got married and we had to move out, it was SO HARD to split the clothes up! Many arguments happened over who's was what!! I'm older, so I won most of those, though. :-)

I try to incorporate at least a fruit or veggie in each meal. This morning? Grapefruit!!

I always snuggle up in the hubbies oversized (on me) sweat shirts. And when he is gone overnight on a business trip, its sad how many of his clothes I drown myself in just so I feel closer to him.

Hands down: Ice Cream .

I loved living at home with my sister. We used to share clothes.... but I also had a best friend that was my size and so we would always swap. I LOVED it!

Not gonna lie: I don't ALWAYS have them with my meals.

Feel better girl!

I steal my bf's clothes sometimes but he is waaay taller than me so I am swimming in his stuff. But is so comfortable! Like ginormous PJs

I definitely shared clothes with my college roomies! I miss it. Now my sister and I share clothes since we are living togethere again.

If I am having a bad day, chocolate chip cookies or brownies here I come.

I definitely try to eat fruits and veggies with every meal. But sometimes a carbs only meal is yummy the way to go!

I'm with you on the pizza-as-comfort-food. My husband thinks so, too, I guess. He asks me to make homemade pizza at least once a week. Yours looks way better than mine, though!

I try to get vegetables in every meal, but sometimes you just need to eat what feels right. Get better soon!!

Well my roomie is my sister and we don't wear the same size, but I have lived with friends that we did share clothes and it was awesome to have such a large selection!
I'm not an emotional eater but I love pizza, I always seem to be craving it.
Lately I try to have a veggie or a fruit with every meal but sometimes it just doesn't happen.

I can't wear my husband's clothes because he is like a stick figure!
I have a tendency to emotionally eat sweets. It's a bit ridiculous, but I have been known to chow down on anything involving cheese as well.
I need to get better about incorporating fruits and veggies into every meal. I think I have the hardest time doing it for breakfast because I'm usually grabbing something and running out the door.

At April 1, 2011 at 7:25 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I always wear my boyfriends clothes around the house. I'm sure he loooves it (sarcasm!). I don't think I ever shared my clothes with anyone else though. Besides the random pair of pants or shirt with my bestfriends...but not too much. Me and my sister have such different styles that we never really went near eachothers closets.

Janae- you are not alone.

My fiancé and I totally have the same size feet. All the cool couples do. Noone told you that before? Weird.

I don't usually wear my hubby's clothes, only because he's over 6ft tall and I'm only 5'2...

If I'm feeling miserable and want some food to pick me up I'd probably choose chocolate chip cookies!! or a Caramello bar.

I almost always have fruit with breakfast and always have veggies for lunch. Dinner is a combo of both.

Sorry you're having a setback! Seriously. Since I've been injured I've been drowning in way too much ice cream. That pizza looks like the bomb.

I wear my husbands sweatshirts....all the time! Comfy!

I'm hoping to run my next half in Vibrams. I just got a pair of Injinji socks for them yesterday! Soooooo comfy.

My sister and I share clothes a lot! :D
I usually eat fruit and veggies without really thinking about it.....so if one day I don't eat a serving of either at a meal, its ok because I know that I usually eat enough!

At April 1, 2011 at 7:50 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Janae, you are not alone. Last night I was down on life and couldn't get myself to eat anything but half a box of cereal and chocolate. And pretzels. And any other carb in my house.

This too shall pass.

I'm sorry about the setback, Janae! Keep focusing on the positive. I love wearing Billy's pajama pants and t-shirts! I usually have fruit or vegetables with a meal, but not EVERY meal. Happy Friday, gorgeous girl! I wish we could hang out this weekend. :)

I'm sorry you had a set back! That is so frustrating! I love that you try to stay so positive when I am sure that this is a REALLY hard time for you!
I am a twin, and we shared clothing before I got married, and to be honest I was worried about not having the double clothing option too. I still miss not being able to share clothes with her and I have been married almost 5 years!
I am a total emotional eater. I love to snack on cereal or ice cream.
I try to have fruits and veggies at every meal, but with a small budget that we have, sometimes that can be tricky!

I'm forever stealing Chris's clothes. We are almost exactly the same size - if I wasn't a girl who wore "girly" clothes we could share our entire closet!

If only our feet were the same size...then I could steal his cycling shoes! I'm too cheap to get my own!

At April 1, 2011 at 8:32 AM , Blogger Ashley said...

No sisters, but my roommate and I shared clothes until I moved in with husband. I still miss her closet! But I've started using husband's clothes around the house. His sweatpants are just so much more comfortable!

Emotional eating? You mean like what I did last night? Ritter chocolate biscuits were last night's food of choice. Otherwise it's usually ice cream or mac n cheese (speaking of...2.5 svgs per box?? LIES.)

I don't always...but I always have fruit with breakfast and usually a salad for lunch. Considering my salads are HUGE I think it gets enough veggies for the day :)

So sorry to hear about your setback. (((hugs))) and healing vibes!

I'm sorry to hear you suffered a setback in the recovery process. I know how frustrating that can be. Keep up the positive attitude!

I am the queen of emotional eating (I will no doubt document this on my blog). For me, it's carbs carbs carbs. When I've had a bad day, nothing makes me happier than cereal! the whole box :-) Love Honey Chex and Fruit Loops - not just for kids.

Pizza and mac and cheese are the perfect comfort foods for me too!

I usually can't share clothes with people because I am only 4'9" and most people are atleast half a foot to a foot and a half taller than me. Soooo it doens't really work out too well. Which can be a good thing sometimes.

Sorry about your setback lovely! Keep smiling- you'll get there!

i LIVE in my bf's tshirts. they are so much more cozy than mine are. next week we're going to a detroit bball game (where he's from) and I'm pumped to rock his gear in public!

I'm definitely captain of the emtional eating team. usually the more sugar, fat and frosting, the better. and any jar of peanut butter doesn't stand a chance when I'm on the warpath.

Vibrams .... ok. If he starts borrowing your heels it may be time for an intervention.

Sorry about the PT setback. Sounds like you already know it, but I learned with my IT Band PT that it's not a linear progression. I was getting nowhere for about 3 weeks, including some days when it seemed worse, and then things just started clicking. Hope you have the same experience, and the clicking starts soon.

I usually turn to chocolate and peanut butter.
