Saturday Part Dos

After the fro-yo date we headed over to J-dawgs for hot dogs, I was hungry after 140 minutes of cycling.  The brother-in-law is in town and when the brothers get together. that means we eat meat for all three meals.  My iron levels are thanking them.

He brought his girlfriend Micah with him and let me just say I approve, okay more like I am obsessed and spent the whole day with her, that is why I was missing from the blogosphere.

IMG 5107

My hair is getting lighter due to chlorine and it is also breaking off more and more bangs, I wear a swim cap but it doesn't help.......

IMG 5108

We then went to the local grocery store to pick up the goods for dinner and dessert.  I cannot be trusted in the candy aisle and this is how I felt after Billy told me no to getting my favorite things, I live a hard life.   FYI, That isn't a fake sad face.  This is drama at its finest.

IMG 5109

The boys went to a church meeting and the girls went to the mall.  I didn't buy one thing and I am really proud of myself because that never happens, I have never made Billy happier than I did when I got home with empty hands, although he did ask if I hid the bags in the car.

As a reward they made dinner while watching the Office and giggling.  Hold the decorating compliments, I know you want my tips on window treatments.

IMG 5112

They mixed jalepenos, bacon, monterey jack cheese and covered the patties in a chipotle glaze and bbqed it.  We also boiled potatoes, cut them, drizzled them in olive oil and seasoning salt and broiled them for 10 minutes.

IMG 5115

The girls made chocolate chip cookie dough and cut up the reese's for the ice cream that I am currently waiting for to be made in the ice-cream maker.  Yes, it is 1:27 a.m. as I am writing this and I refuse to fall asleep until the ice cream is finished.  Priorities people....ice cream>sleeping.  Kids, don't listen to my advice, I am a bad example of proper tapering......4 minutes of running, no sleep, junk food and eating candy off of a sharp knife.

IMG 5118

Actually, I might just have to wait until bfast to eat the ice cream, one eye has permanently shut and the other is close behind.  Waffles and ice cream is perfectly acceptable at 9 a.m.  These eating habits as of late might be why my niece asked me yesterday, 'why are you getting fatter?'  No lie.  Kids say the darndest things.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you color your hair?

-Every 6 months I have Megan use a box from walmart to darken it up but back in the day I had every hair color possible, including bleach blond....I might have to post some pictures about that.

Do you like hot dogs?

-J-dawgs only and loaded with pickles, sauerkraut and banana peppers.

What are you doing this marvelous Sunday?

-Watching Conference and staying in pajamas for the entire day.

Billy's Question for you....... "Have you ever had a neighbor complain about your noise level?"

-Yes, Saturday night.  I guess they didn't like the boys screaming as they were using the electrotherapy on their forearms, biceps and faces.

Hahaha you are too funny :)

No I have never had a neighbor complain about my noise level but I have had my parents complain many times that I sing too loudly in the shower...

Love using the ice cream maker. Blueberry sour cream ice cream is our favorite to make.

Love hot dogs but I think corn dogs are pretty great, too.

I just absolutely love reading your blog. It's ALWAYS the first one I go to :) For you hair, try using a malibu conditioning treatment. My sis is a stylist and says that should help. If you email me your address I can send you a few because she gets them for $1!!

You are just so awesome-sauce!

I do color and/or highlight my hair. My hair is constantly breaking. I need to stop.

No hot dogs for this girl. Even before I gave up meat, I never liked them. Sausages instead.

Today I am blog stalking and watching sports. Total rest day.

Haha Billy!! No complaints here!! Do you all have something you are not telling us???!?

Yes I color my hair
Not a fan of hot dogs
I'm running a late St.Patrick race today.
Yes I have had a neighber complain that I was mowing my lawn to early in the morning. I was single back than and needed to get it done early so I could play and go out that night.

I just highlighted my hair for the first time in many years. I had a coupon so I figured why not?

Your Saturday sounds AWESOME!

I do color my hair, but probably about every 6 months. I'm getting married in 2 weeks, so yesterday I had my stylist do it! He's the best!

I'm with Sabrina- I much prefer sausages to hotdogs...

Today I'm having lunch with the fiance and a friend, and then working the box office at my theatre in Manhattan and then coming back to Brooklyn for a mani-pedi appointment, compliments of my trainer (she spoils me).

And I think when we were kids some neighbors disapproved of our noise level, but since I've been an adult, I've kept it quiet! :)

Do you color your hair?
-Yep - I'm a fake blonde. Everything in NYC is so dark. I wanted to bring a lil sunshine ;-)

Do you like hot dogs?
-Not really, I'm more of a burger girl

What are you doing this marvelous Sunday?

-Playing Whiffle Ball!

Billy's Question for you....... "Have you ever had a neighbor complain about your noise level?"

-Nope, I live alone and I'm so boring!

Happy Sunday!

I do color my hair when I get bored of it after a while...i think this may be the longest I have ever gone without coloring it...haha!

I am so impressed by all of your meat-eating skills. I am a little grossed out by hot dogs and really do not eat a lot of meat but luckily I have been able to come up with so many new chicken ideas to get my protein in :)

when I lived in payson the lady below us yelled at us for "stomping around" when we were playing DDR on the wii...guess I do not walk or "dance" lightly. ha!

have a good sunday!!!

I'm behind again! Congrats on the 4 minutes yesterday! Woohoo!!! I'm laughing at Billy suggesting you "hid" bags in the car. I sneak bags into my closet and my husband will comment when I wear something and I give him the look like "I've had this for years...." I'm not a good liar, so I have to hope he doesn't comment!

That burger looks GOOD. Hot Dog-not so good! Put the Gummy Bears back and grab the bag of Pretzel M and M's on the 3rd shelf from the top. There is a yellow tag below them meaning they are probably on sale. You have to eat the whole bag if they're on sale.

I box color my hair at least once a week (the roots) Pathetic... Have a great Sunday! I'm off to brunch-waffles and ice cream sound pretty good!

umm... can I come over and eat ice cream with you today?? and I haven't had a J-Dawg in YEARS... just reading your post is making me crave them-how weird is that? especially 'cuz it's not even 8am yet.

I get my hair highlighted usually every 8-12 weeks, i wish I could just use a box kit, it would be so much cheaper...

and as far as I know we've never gotten a noise complaint. Usually it's me griping about how loud our landlord's grandkids and dogs are... ha!

plans for the day... i might go to church... I kinda don't want to drive in the snow... other than that... I plan on being a lazy bum and blog stalking.

I've been coloring my hair since high school. My stylist loves me because I love to play with the color. I usually just let 'em do whatever they are feeling that day. I was bleach blonde too for a couple of years! I loved it, but it was just too high maintenance. I'd love to see pics of you as a blonde. I can't picture it!

My taste buds LOVE hot dogs, but my head knows how bad they are for you, so I hardly ever eat 'em. Unless I'm at a baseball game. It's a rule. I can't go see my Cardinals play without double-fisting hot dogs and beers.

I color my hair only about twice a year. I like to highlight it in the summer and dye it dark for the winter months.

I am not a big fan of hot dogs. My husband got one from Costco yesterday, and I had a bite but that's all.

I thought of you the whole time we were at Costco getting free samples. ;)

My hair is a problem right now. I used to dye dark brown every couple of months and then stopped maybe 6 months ago because I wanted to know what my real hair color actually was. Now I have a sexy 2-toned thing going on. I should probably fix that.
I have never made ice cream before! How is this possible?!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who got in trouble with her neighbors for playing DDR! My college roomies and I played it 3x a week and if we did it too late at night, the peeps below us complained.

My Sunday = stretching, church, more stretching, blog stalking, and dinner w/ the fam. Good Sunday.

You had a really fun day! I get my hair highlighted every once in a while - I used to be a lot blonder than I am now, but it's much easier to maintain (and not as expensive!) I ran this morning, just ate a smoothie and now I'm heading to meet my sister for church. Billy has been out of town, so I'll pick him up at the airport tonight! :)

Do you wet your hair before putting the cap on? It keeps your hair from absorbing the chlorinated water and helps a ton!

Hair color? Guilty. I'm supposed to go into the office today but I am going to put it off for as long as possible :-) but not too long because my BF's Grandma is coming over for tea!

I love your blue sweater/grocery store outfit! Maybe you will have to double back after work tomorrow (sans Billy) for some candy...

Aww, what a fun day!!

I once complained about my neighbors, there were guys screaming like crazy - it almost sounded like they were getting electrotherapy on their forearms, biceps and faces. ... Oh wait... Awkwaaard...

Have an amazing Sunday!

Sounds like a great night. Enjoy your sunday and all the fun family!
p.s.
I am usually the neighbor that calls about the noise. Eek, grandma here!

I get weird, random cravings for hot dogs sometimes. I will only eat Oscar Mayer Weiners, though. I am an incredibly picky eater.

I am definitely the neighbor that complains about the noise. Mostly because I live in an apartment complex filled with undergrads]

Those are some serious hot dogs! I started eating meat (poultry) this week after 20 years as a vegetarian, but I'm not sure I'm up to dog yet...

No color in my hair, but when I was in junior high I definitely participated in the My So-Called Life kool-aid fad. Multiple times.

Suggestion for the chlorine & hair issue: get your hair wet first, even before you put on a swim cap. Do this in the shower or in a sink. It helps prevent chlorine water from getting into the hair follicles because they're already full of "healthy" water! I grew up swimming and playing water polo and saw a huge change in my hair when I started doing this.

Those hot dogs look DELISH!!

My hair color is natural and I love it!

Yes I color my hair, I used to change the color every 6 months but lately I have kept it close to my natural color and it's in the best shape ever! I still get touch ups and get it trimmed every 8-9 weeks, to keep it so beautiful!
I love hot dogs, can't wait for Lent to be over so I can indulge in one, especially a corn dog! yum
My Sunday has been spent recovering from a massive headache sad to say
BTW I would love to give you credit for my recent obsession: SWEDISH FISH...I absolutely love them!

Heck yes I color my hair. I do it every 3 months because I am too cheap to do it any more often. It's bad when you start having grey roots.
Watching conference too - but not in pj's thanks to yesterday's session. I ate more of my kids conference bingo candy than they did.
No noise complaints from neighbors though I'm sure I've scarred my teenager for life ;)

Lovin' the ice cream! I would totally stay up & wait for ice cream too :)
Your brother in law's girlfriend is beautiful!! they are such a cute couple, just like you & Billy!
I hope the conference went well & you are continuing to enjoy your Sunday!!!

I love that swimming has given you a new hairstyle! Very smart, actually. I always wait until I look like Cousin It from the Addams Family to get a haircut, maybe I should just start swimming a lot when my bangs are too long!

Today I went to the movies/brunch with a good friend -- we saw the Bill Cunningham documentary, SUCH a good movie!!! I like movies that are so powerful you feel like your perspective on life has changed a little.

My neighbors are jerks, so yes...they have complained.

At April 3, 2011 at 9:20 PM , Blogger Lizzi said...

I used to dye my hair heaps when I was younger. Now I'm too lazy so have gone totally eau naturale haha ;)

Hot dogs with every possible topping are FANTASTIC. I love them so much but they sadly do not feature enough in my life :(

My Sunday was spent with an easy, fun workout at the gym, followed by a trip to the farmers markets to stock up on various deliciousness. Then I went home and made ICE CREAM! :D ...which I inhaled (seriously none left gahhh) and then spent the rest of the night lying on my stomach moaning in pain haha will i ever learn?!?

My neighbours have never complained but that's probably only because they're opera singers are are super paranoid that somebody's going to complain about THEM practicing all the time. I don't mind at all, so i just hope they're not TOOOOO bothered by my horrendous shrieking along to Britney Spears and stuff.. =\

I feel really bad that I missed out on the fro yo date. :(
And I WANT that burger and cookie dough. You know how to party!
I am surprised my neighbors don't complain about us and our chickens. I guess I just have to keep bribing them with fresh eggs!

I have colored my hair since the 7th grade. Now I have to because I have started going grey at the temples.

I love hotdogs, right now they are the "in" thing in DC with several hotdog places opening up near me.

Yes I have had noise complaints made on me.
