Burnin' those Hamstrings.

Welcome again to round THREE of weights with the Anderson (my maiden name) sisters.   You can read round 1 and 2 by clicking HERE and HERE.

We were going to do biceps with hamstrings but then we got lazy and decided to just stick with hamstrings (and for me hamstring........gimp leg didn't want to have anything to do with working out yesterday) and hit up the ellipticals while watching King of Queens.

IMG 0229

Would you believe me if I told you that I lost all of my hair brushes and that is why my hair looks the way it does.

IMG 0231

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This hamstring move BURNS.  Seriously, your legs will feel like they are a marshmallow over the campfire.

IMG 0232

Mmmmmm. gotta love laying on the clean gym floors;)

IMG 0233

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wall squats.  I think I can last for 40 seconds with this one. My goal is to someday be able to spend my usual 4 hours a day stalking blogs doing a wall squat at the same time.

IMG 0235

As we were walking out of the gym on our way to meet the family at our favorite cheese filled buffet this was staring at us.

IMG 0236

Really.  Didn't they know we were on our way to consume 3 pizza's each.  That was just rude Gold's Gym.  Good thing we forgot about it 24 seconds later.

Billy and I are on our way up to Salt Lake City to get a SPECIAL treat that we have been wanting for a while (and believe it or not it does not have anything to do with frosting, sugar, running shoes or tempo shorts).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is something on your wish list right now?  Are you saving up for anything right now?!?!

-I can't WAIT to show you my new toy:)

Would you rather lift upper body or lower body?

-I LOVE doing lower body (think squats and lunges) and will be back at them in no time!!

What is the best part about your Saturday?!?!

-My cute mother in law is on number 18 of 50 texts that she is sending of reasons she loves me that has nothing to do with running.  MADE. MY. DAY.  along with me and Billy's special TREAT:)

I LOVE the lower body moves. . . But I NEED the upperbody moves :D. I'm learning to love them too.

I love lower body workouts too. Squats are my favvvvvvvorite :) Have fun getting the treat--is it a computer?? My wish list consists of a house, a pool, and new running shoes. I know, I know, I am a simple girl ;)

I have trouble liking lifting at all! I like Pilates, though, so maybe core moves? Best part of my Saturday was my lunch date with the cutest guy I know (my husband :))

That hunk of "fat" is really gross, although quite effective!

The best part of Friday is sleeping in, without a doubt!

I'm saving for a house. So adult, so overwhelming.

I saw the hunk of FAT and immediately started trying to calculate what my fat percentage would equal in pounds... once i knew it would be more than 5 lbs i stopped trying to calculate it. UGH! so gross!

super excited to see what your treat is!!!! :)

my wish list? oh gee... LOTS of things: a house, a new (newer) car that will be kid friendly, and a super cute camera bag/purse.

I like lifting lower body too! my legs are the strongest thing I've got... lol. my upper body is lacking... SERIOUSLY-next time you (ms. buff body and ms. buff sister) work out/weight lift, please call me! i'm down for some serious muscle burning.

best part of Saturday so far... long run done, blogged, and blog stalking... may be hanging out with my mama-cita later too! :)

Currently I am saving for paint for the house because one room is yellow and that has to go! And a laptop, right now I have a desktop computer and I just hate sitting at my desk at home when I have already been sitting a desk all day at work! lol
I usually lift upper body, I feel my muscles getting bigger every day lol
Best part of my Saturday is having about 2 hours of doing nothing! love it!

Can't wait to find out what ya'll are getting today! :D
Great exercises! I prefer lower body workouts, so I've been trying to add in more upper body and abs.....I really hate doing both of those, but need to build up strength there, too...:P

My wish list is never ending, but I really want new running shoes.

I like doing upper body, hate lower body, I cannot do lunges to save my life.

It's super warm today... I'm enjoying the weather!

I love doing lower body too - squats and lungers are my favorite!

oh my gosh--as far as i'm concerned, that "5 lbs of fat" thing is just rude! sheesh.

i'm "saving up" for a haircut! and by "saving up" i mean "looking for a reason to put it off because i am both too busy and too lazy for that kind of thing" ;).

also: girl, have you had tropical starburst jelly beans yet? because you need to. and if you can't find them, i will GLADLY mail you a bag--just shoot me an email (echristi@reed.edu)!

I'm too uncoordinated for the hamstring move with the ball. I roll all over the darn place.

I can't wait to hear about your and Billy's little treat! D and I had been saving $ for a few things we want... we need to finish getting the driveway concreted... we want some new patio furniture for our awesome deck... we want to take a cruise this winter... And then we filed our taxes and found out how much we had to pay in! That put a huge damper on a lot of our plans and took all our fun money. :( It's all good now though. I sent the greedy jerks a check last week, so we can get back to saving for the fun stuff now!

Janae, you're the best!

I am currently saving my babysitting money for a treadmill. I have $600 saved up so far.

And guess what!?! I ran 14 miles today. That might not sound like a lot to amazing runners like you, but that is the farthest I have ever gone. And I was my own cheerleader today. I knew I could do it. I only slightly doubted myself around mile 11 when my IT band started hurting, but I stretched, took it slow and finished strong. Now, a couple hours later and I feel great. Only slightly sore IT band and everywhere else feels back to 100%. Thanks for your words of encouragement last week! They really helped!

EW wht a horrible display!!! great moves gal!! i prefer working lower body! i cannot handle much pain tolerance in my upper body!! AT ALL

I like doing upper body because at least I know the legs are already covered (ish) with running. No big splurges because we're building a house but I think I may be able to negotiate a treadmill since there is no where to run outside near our new house.
What's the special treat? I'm so curious!

A gym in DC had a hunk of fat like that sitting out on the sidewalk trying to get people to sign up for personal trainers! I couldn't even talk to the guy about personal training b/c I was busy trying not to puke.

Hmmm... my wish list. A new pretty sparkly laptop to blog from. Mine is 8 years old and last night, it was doing fireworks from the wall. Not cool.

I prefer upper :) I like guns, what can I say.

My Saturday has been spectacular! Worked 8 hours to come home mid afternoon to find that the hubby had mulched all the flower beds outside and he was COOKING OUT for me! First cookout of the season!

Ooooooh, I'm excited to hear about your treat!! I'm going to San Fran at the end of April and I am saving all my money to shop for treats there!

Thank you for the weight lifting blogs. i have done all of them.

Favorite part of my Saturday was that it was finally warm here, so hubby and i grilled out chicken brats, and had corn on the cob, and watermelon in honor of summer flavors.

Going to France this summer, so saving for that.

P.S. I actually like wall squats and am pretty darn good at them. ;)

You and your sister are so beautiful!!!

I love upper body weights - I think because I see results faster in my arms/shoulders/chest.
Best thing about today - finishing my run despite it being less than stellar. Hubby went grocery shopping and made dinner so I could study.
After saving for a few years we (my hubby) finally got his dream car (2011 Mustang GT). Not my favorite but I love that he loves it.
Can't wait to see what your new toy is.

Wall sits are so hard! I have to do them to keep my knees in shape though!

I'm not saving up for anything right now. Our last big expenditure was the treadmill, so we're laying low on spending for a while.

I can't wait to try the balance ball move.

Hope you have a good trip!!

The best part of my Saturday is right now, just sitting around watching tv with Miko.

I don't like weight lifting at all, but I prefer doing my arms- they are so weak!

Have fun with your treat. I can't wait to see what it is!

those hamstring rolls on the ball are tough! i used to do them single legged until it ruined my back. i've had back pain ever since! double leg only from now on.

we're saving to go on a mini vacay to st. george. we need a break. (i can't see what you're bringing home).

today i ran my long run on the treadmill at the gym. this wet and heavy snow is killing me! then, my good friend to me to omar's raw food up in sugarhouse. have you been? oh my gosh, it was capital A Amazing!

Awesome moves, I never know what to do for my hammies! Can't wait to see your "special treat." My Saturday was filled with a long run in the SUN along the waterfront, then watching shows with the boyfriend all afternoon.

Glad you didn't let that lard scare you. Eating crappy food is at least part of the reason we run, isn't it???

I've been wanting to ask you what you think of the show Big Love, but thought it was rude. Then Brent, after looking at your blog tonight, said, "It's not rude. It'd be like me asking you what you think of A Serious Man."

So...

(1) Do you think it's the same?

(2) What do you think of Big Love?

:)

OOH can't wait to hear about your treat!

We all need treats and rewards sometimes :)

WOW that fat blob is great evidence of why doctors tell patients that gaining even 5 lbs of fat really does increase the work that your heart has to do...I didn't realize 5 pounds was that giant!!

that is so precious of your momma!! Best part of my Saturday was volunteering at a race instead of running. It was nice being on the other end of it all. But obviously I was itching to race ;-)

My wish list includes Aero bars, an aero helmet, tri shoes, and Vibram Five Finger shoes.

I mentally have to keep myself from doing upper body workouts. I'll go crazy and do them every day if I let myself. Lower body is more difficult for me to get into, but upper body is addicting.

I like lifting upper body better, I think. I always liked the lat pulldown the best.

I kind of want to get an iPhone, so I guess I'm saving for it? I can't decide what to do about cell phones. I'm excited for your big reveal of your special treat.

My hubby is a youth pastor & we made GOAL toward sending kids to missions trips, etc.!!! My wishlist...LONG ha! I'm a newbie to fitness so probably good workout clothes..oooh or a garmin!!!

I like upper body workouts because I want to have arms like ... pretty much any famous actress.

The best part of my Saturday was babysitting my adorable nephew!!!
