Weight Training with the Sisters.

Reader PAM (the cutest thing in the world) sent me my new FAVORITEST sweatshirt ever.  I died from happiness when I opened it and I don't think I will take it off for anything besides work and the occasional shower.

Warning, Warning, Warning......The moves that we are about to show you are VERY basic, but that is how we roll.  If you are a weight training machine this is going to seem like a toddler's lifting plan so just scroll down to the bottom and answer my random questions.

Today we are focusing on Chest and Back (8-12 reps, 3 sets).......two pics for each move with the start and finish.  Please note that I know that my face and body are two completely different colors.  It is a rare disease called 'getting carried away with the bronzer' and it effects me and Billy's everyday quality of life.

Time for the Physical Therapist!!! I think I am there more than I am at home.......

P.S. in regards to my last post, my body is feeling much better because of the whole wheat egg sandwich I had for bfast, 4 lbs of brocc and spinach tuna salad for lunch and at least 6 apples and pears with pb, my veins are bursting with nutrients at the moment and I am feeling like myself again!

Only 4 days left of school until Spring Break II.  It is normal to feel jealousy after reading the previous sentence.

What kind of music device do you use when you workout?

-LOVE my ipod shuffle.  It is pink and Billy wrote, "Pain is Temporary" on the back.

How old were you when you got your first gym pass?

-I had a pass to the rec. center during high school and joined Gold's when I was 19.  I also worked out at the college gym quite a bit in the good ol' days.

I just use my iPhone to listen to music haha

I got my gym pass last year when my parents joined a country club that had a gym, pool, etc

haha. Her hair is really pretty-wow! k, I always use my ipod nano (PINK!) for working out (love that bad boy!!)--and I was 17 when I got a gym pass to a local gym. Loved going there! I will run for.....good, quality Swiss chocolate :) What are ya going to do for your 2nd spring break ps??

I don't listen to any music when I work out. I tend to get lost in my thoughts.

I went to the gym for a bit when I was 13. it was an option instead of PE. I could bench press my body weight, but I only weighed like 115lbs, so it wasn't that impressive.

After about 6 months I stopped, and didn't start up again for 10 years. SHAME ON ME. I could have been so buff by now.

I love you and your sister! You guys are so cute!! I cant help but make funny faces too when lifting. Its like my face feels left out and it twitches. I dont use any kind of music device because every ipod I have ever owned has either been washed in the laundry or lost or both, so I am not allowed to have another one till I grow up. I've been gyming it up since high school, instead of regular PE I would take weight training, and then I got real chubby after high school and stopped going. Then I went back. I will run/work out for pizza. I lurve pizza almost as much I love God.

iPod nano. I've had it for the past 5 years and it's still going strong! I'm getting an iPhone this summer though! :]

How old were you when you got your first gym pass?
7th grade and have had one pretty regularly. I love the gym for the variety of machines and the opportunity to work out in the winter. However...NOTHING BEATS RUNNING OUTSIDE. Freedom! Sunshine on your face! Moms with cute babies in strollers on the sidewalks, dodging kids with bikes as you speed past them, stopping at the park to swing as a running break, etc.

But you have some nice muscle tone in your arms! 10 lbs is about all I could probably do too :)

I used to use my ipod touch but got a pink ipod shuffle for xmas from my coworkers so that's what I use to listen to music now. It's so much easier than having to strap something to my arm.

When i was in cheerleading we workout a few times a week before practice in our high school weight room, it was mandatory. When I got to college I worked out at the gym there cause it was free.

Great post! I love your new sweatshirt. I am VERY jealous that you have another spring break coming up. I will try not to be mean to you. :)

I have an iPod shuffle too and I love it!! I also won a Sony MP3 player recently so once I get it in the mail, I plan to try it out!

I went to the gym in high school with my mom and I enjoyed it. I just didn't go very regularly. I was pretty active playing soccer and cheerleading so i didn't go to the gym.

I use an ipod nano when i workout, I have a shuffle too, but I stopped using it when I started using nike+, but then when I stopped, I kept using the nano.

i usually don't run with anything electronic but lately i've been taking my phone (an iphone) with me on some runs. it's nice to jam out...or stop running and start a dance party...

Love the sweatshirt! I will run for ice cream too. My x-c coach used to bribe us with ice cream if our last mile repeat in practice was our fastest one. It was a huge motivation for me.
These weight posts are great! It reminds me of my sister & I. I'm the runner, and she's the strong one from weights & rowing crew. She shows me her moves when we're home on breaks.

i mix between my iphone & ipod nano for working out. i recently found the nano totally broken the other day (the whole top popped off so you can see all the insides of the ipod), but i charged it up & it went on my 4k the other day!

i haven't actually purchased a gym membership. we have a mini gym in the basement (lots of weights, yoga mats, etc), and i do my running/cycling outside!

I WILL RUN FOR FOOD. any food. i'm there ;)

I stole my hubs shuffle when he got a replacement because he lost it.. It miraculously turned up after he got a new one. I think I was 15 when I got my first gym membership. I have the shirt that says "will run for wine". It was a toss up between that and chocolate.

My mom would let me work out with her at the gym when I was about 14. Only once on the weekend, but I loved it so much. She was a machine but it was fun to lift the teeny tiny dumbbells next to her.

Maybe there was something awesome in the water you two drank growing up? So gorgeous.

I was reading Chicken Soup for the Soul: Runners, and I came across a story about a guy training for a marathon. Two weeks before the marathon, he did something to his knee so he couldn't run. Instead, he trained for another marathon by cycling and weight lifting. It just reminded me of you because you're still training for Boston and you aren't running. Right now you are such a huge inspiration to me since I can't run due to an injury either. It's tough mentally, but you are so optimistic that I try to be too.

I LOVE your weight routine shares. Please do not stop this. I am an indiot and need all the help I can get. I tend to do like the same 3 lifts every single day.

I got a gym pass when I was 20. Before that the most exercise I got was walking from the couch to the fridge.

Love your running skirt in the 1st pic. And I will run for carbs. Bread, cookies, crackers, anything loaded with extra carbs=YUMMY! I'd rather run 90 miles a week than quit eating carbs.

I never used to work out with music. In fact, i HATED it. But then I took a couple of much-needed rest from running, and when the time came to get back into it, I was having trouble motivating myself. Soooo I gave myself an incentive in the form of a new ipod nano and i LOVE IT. and let me just say i am the queen of making awesome running playlists. i seriously possess a gift from the heavens.

I never went to a gym until I got a job at one (as a receptionist/admin assistant) when I was 20. I worked there for about 3 years until I graduated university and got a 'real' job. The owners/staff are seriously like my second family - plus my boyfriend is a personal trainer there :) - and i STILL have free access which is AWESOME. i pretty much live there hahah. i'm ALL about exploiting freebies!

oh, and i WILL RUN FOR..... back rubs, pizza, an amazing playlist to be my soundtrack so i can pretend i'm in a movie, and the sheer joy of feeling totally hardcore :)

I have a hot pink iPod too, but mines the nano. I'd love a shuffle too though! I started dropping into a gym to take kickboxing classes in grade 10 and bought a pass later that year. I still go to the same gym when I go visit my parents. I love it!!

Will run for bagels. When I do my long runs I always dream about bagels, specifically cinnamon raisin. I have no idea why, but that's just how I roll I guess.

I love to run and when I'm running consistently I don't think about weight or if I'm eating too much. I'm just happier with myself. My focus shifts to getting my body in the best condition to run than how it looks in jeans etc... And I love that freedom!

I load all my music onto my Android phone, so I have music and a phone for emergencies all in one device! (And by emergencies, I mean calling my mom at mile 15 and not saying a word because she has learned that is her cue to start pepping me up because I must be struggling).

I joined the YMCA my senior year of high school.

ICE CREAM for me too. For my first marathon, I picked it because it was sponsored by Ben & Jerry's, and I had shirts printed that said "Laura will run for ice cream. When I finish, I can eat 10 scoops!"
