Trip Tangent Tuesday and

Workout:

20 minutes abs.....ouch.

30 minutes Back and triceps.

Don't be surprised if I start looking like the hulk in the photos from now on.....I am getting hugely ripped, 27 inch biceps here I come.  It does feel good to get lifting again and the feeling of being sore in somewhere other than my legs!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

1.  I cannot remember what happens in TV shows.  Billy and I have watched every episode of The Office, Arrested Development, Scrubs and 30 Rock at least 5 times and still to this day I always say, "I don't think we have seen this episode Billy, this is hilarious, how did we miss this one?"  Billy then replies, "We have seen it a dozen times" and then proceeds to remind me how I said the exact same thing last time we watched it.   My memory is failing me.  At least it feels like there is an endless amount of hilarious TV episodes, blessing in disguise.

IMG_0739.JPG

Yes, we always wear scrubs as we watch Scrubs.

2.  I go a little extreme on things if you haven't noticed yet.  Long runs turn into marathons and my candy love turns into eating a Costco size bag of skittles in 36 hours.  When I said I was going to focus on drinking more Water........I think I went a little overboard and I drank 7 of these water bottles throughout work and spent 1/9 of my workday hobbling to the restroom.  Hopefully, all of this water helps my leg heel before it ends up drowning my cells or getting me fired for wasting company time.

Photo on 2011-03-15 at 14.28 #3.jpg

3.  The beach is my heaven.  Nothing is better than packing a ginormous cooler of beach food, burying your husband, napping in the sun and calling getting your hair wet in the ocean washing it.

Time for more beautiful race photos.....I am not even kidding when I say the emails you guys send me with your pics and descriptions make me INCREDIBLY happy, so thank you!!!

The gorgeous Jessica @ RacingToThirty sent a picture from her second 5K, The Texas Med 5k in Houston, TX from last month.  She cut THREE minutes off of her first 5K......WOW!!!!  Girl, you are a ROCKSTAR!!

2.12.2011 004-2.JPG

The cutest Lauren @ RunYogaRepeat sent in a photo after a local turkey trot 5k.  "My mom & I started the race through our church youth group to raise money for the youth group's mission trip and collect cans for the foodbank. We had over 100 runners this year for the race's 8th year! Plus, I got to run with my dog!"  SO SO FUN!!

DSCN1505.JPG

The hottie Sarah @ PajamaChef sent in her favorite race photo of all time.  "It's of me, my sister Kathleen, and my then-boyfriend/now-husband Ben after my first marathon, the Flying Pig Marathon in 2008. I ran it in 4:07:27... the race was rerouted after a fire so official distance was 26.4514. Pretty crazy... I'm currently training for marathon #2- Cleveland on May 15 and I can't wait!! Training has been going really well and I'm shooting for 3:30/3:40!"  YOU'VE GOT IT GIRL!!

Thanks again for all the advice and love from my last post.  I am obsessed with you guys!!

Where is your FAVORITE BEACH?

-San Clamente and Sunset Beach in Hawaii.

Do you drink a lot of water?  Do you carry a waterbottle with you at all times?

-I feel naked without a water bottle within 3 feet of me but I think I might have overdone it today (sorry, Billy when I have to get up 4 dozen times during the night)

How often do you do core/ab work?

-Never ever ever.  They are feeling it today so no one is allowed to put up a funny post because it hurts to laugh:)

I went to the Cayman Islands when I was 13, and I still have visions of their white sand beach.

Also, last year, I went to San Felipe, which is on the Sea of Cortez in Baja California - just awesome, because it was the beginning of May and it was HOT and we sat out in our suits all day.

I try to do core workouts every other day... Emphasis on the word "try"

Do you think running leads to memory loss? Because I forget EVERYTHING. I mean it. It's frightening at times!

I really need to work on my water intake. My problem is a drink a ton all at once and have to pee and then don't drink any for hours. It is less than efficient.

I have the same problem with tv. It drives my husband crazy that he has to remind me who everyone is over and over again.

My favorite beach is MY beach Tobay, LI :) It's not the prettiest in the world but I spend 48-60 hours a week there June- August so it's love :D

I've been doing core work every. single. night. Little over two months till I'm living in a bathing suit : o I enjoy it though.

I don't drink enough water, only when I focus 100% on getting enough do I.

Fav beach = Barking Sands beach in Kauai, HI--beaches are a lil slice of heaven for this Nebraskan girl!

Keep hydrating and eating Skittles to heal that leg!! Maybe I will do a study on the healing powers of candy??

I am visiting my son in August and we are going to San Clamente Beach! I've never been there so I'm super excited! He is a Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton.

I only do core work when I go to my yoga class 2-3 times a week. My bad.

Yep, I have a water bottle with me at all times :)

I went to Florida for the first time last summer and absolutely LOVED longboat key near sarasota!! So beautiful and not real touristy, so it was peaceful.

I definitely should drink more water than I do in the winter, but now that it's getting hotter I get extremely parched after my runs and before.

We do core/abs three times a week at my school so I'm getting some really nice abs that's for sure ;)

I try to drink a lot of water everyday - some days are better than others, and I feel like I'm always going to the bathroom! I do planks and sit-ups throughout the week, but no dedicated ab workouts. I probably should, though! Now that I'm working for lululemon, I'm going to more yoga classes which definitely helps build a strong core. :)

You are hilarious - I was cracking up at this post. My memory has been failing me lately too. It's killing me. I always drink water - way too much actually. I have to pee at least every hour. I just say I drink enough water for me and the Husband combined. And I do corework about 3-4 times a week - but not for long.. maybe like 5-10 minutes each time.

-My favorite beach is in Progresso, Mexico - nothing special about the beach, just the memories there.

-I drink wayyyy too much water. I am for a gallon a day. Needless to say, I must always be near a bathroom!

-I attempt to do ab & core work once or twice a week, but I definitely don't always achieve that because I hate it!

Favorite beach--hmmm I have a soft spot for beaches in St. Thomas(especially Magens Bay), USVI because we lived there for a couple years and our first daughter was born there. St. John Beaches are gorgeous too.

I do lots of core work. I do a lot of total body workouts, that include core. I'm hoping all my strength training will pay off in a PR this spring!

I hope your quad heals speedy fast! Good for you for taking the time to heal it, I know its not easy!

I drink a gallon of water A DAY! It pretty much prevents me from EVER going anywhere. Bladder is full this very moment in fact..on that note...

My favorite beach is A-Bay in Hawaii on the main island. It's insanely gorgeous.

I drink water like it's going out of style. I usually have 2 full Nalgene water bottles a day, which equals roughly 64 oz. I pee a lot.

With the way my class schedule is this semester, I only get to the gym 3 days per week so I do my core and abs those days. I don't know if you've tried these, but they're killer for abs: http://www.fitness-and-bodybuilding-workouts.com/exercise-ball-crunches.html

HA The bathroom breaks are good practice for Billy because whe you get pregnant, the trips to the potty never cease! But that's down the road... ;-)

I actually do ab/core work frequently, but that's by default since I teach yoga and throw a bit of concentrated core work...even though every posture is supposed to work your abs if you're doing it right and engaging them.

My water bottle is the one thing I never forget, and I'm always drinking and re-filling it...too much. I realize it's a problem when I leave a class 3 times to go to the bathroom.
Core/ab work is actually my favorite. I usually do planks a few times a week, as well as a 30 min abs attack class on Thursdays.

Ab work = no. I manage to squeeze in push ups, planks and break dancer push ups in between sprints. The running in between makes it tolerable =)

And I never got to comment on your post about your leg! Praying for your quick recovery.

P.S. Pretty sure anyone who thinks of YOU as a complainer is on crack. Or they ate one too many swedish fish, and the red sugary goodness is getting to their heads =)

My favorite beach would have to be Vanderbilt Beach in Naples, Florida. So beautiful.

I do drink a lot of water. I actually have two water bottles on my desk right now.

I do core/ab work like once per week but I really should do it more!

I'm just like that about "Friends". My husband and I watched every season on DVD last year and now whenever we catch episodes on tv I'll ALWAYS inevitably end up saying "This is so funny! I don't remember this episode!" And SG is like ummm wow, really, we just watched it last year...lol.

Favorite beach: anywhere on St Thomas or St Martin (definitely the French side).

Water: Always bring a water bottle to work with me! Try to refill at least 2-3 times.

Abs/Core: It's nonstop throughout my weekly bootcamp class, plus I try to do crunches & planks at home 1-2 days a week.
