It's a miracle

I left the Mission Viejo mall without buying one item.  This has never been done.  Especially now that there is an H&M.

Am I proud? Yes

Will I ever do that again? No

I may have shown my bro-in-law some items I need him to pick up for me and bring back to Utah for Thanksgiving.

Before I was married I had a ridiculous shopping habit.  It is getting better with time and now I just spend large amounts of money on running gear and broccoli, but hey it is one step in the right direction.

Snacks included a huge apple and some cheese-its.

Salad number #2 of the day:  Turkey, noodles, cucumbers, tomatoes, snap peas, carrots and roughly a head of lettuce:)

Some days I crave salads and more fiber than most humans have a month, some days I crave chocolate, bread and skittles.  I am LEARNING to honor those cravings because it is important to trust your body.  It really knows best what you need. The more you deny yourself a certain food (for weight loss reasons) the more you will want it and eventually end up bingeing.

I am sure when it gets about 8 o'clock my body will tell me it needs some strawberry ice cream and I will honor that craving.

**Edited to add... the craving hit at nine o'clock while watching 'Everybody Loves Raymond.'  1/2 cup is a serving my eye!!

Do you honor your cravings?

-I am sure trying but I would be 500 lbs if I always gave into my cravings!

What is your FAVORITE store to shop at? (MONEY NOT BEING AN OBJECT)

-Of course NORDS, Coach, Banana Republic and BCBG.

Have an amazing night and if you haven't entered the giveaway do it now...only two days left!  My mom was wrong, you can buy friends:)

Oh and don't forget to head on over to Chelsey's blog for a giveaway!

You know what? I actually think I always give into my cravings. But I think my running and over active thyroid help keep me from being 500 pds. :P

My favourite store to shop at would be Urban Outfitters. Jeffery Campbell. Coach.

And your salad looks fantastic! I always find a salad is 10 x better if I add some carbs like you did, whether it is noodles potatoes or couscous. :)

I wish I had your eating mojo! I eat a lot of crap. I do get cravings for roasted broccoli and pomegranates--not at the same time, of course. And sometimes I just gotta have some cheese! I have banned any wine or beer from my mouth this week, just to see if I can do it. Two days down, and so far, so good. Just don't ask me to give up coffee.

thanks for stopping by my blog!

i think for me, giving into cravings means just trusting my body and letting it have what it wants - even if what im craving isn't so technically "healthy" i think for my mental and emotional health (and for pleasures sake) giving myself what im craving is so important - so i do, almost 100% of the time! i don't want to live my life with a set of rules or restrictions about what i can or cannot have, and i think in this way, my body is never wanting - there are some foods it NEVER craves and some foods that it craves every once in awhile, but im at the point where my body mostly craves what really nourishes it!!!

Good thing the hubs doesn't care, actually he joins in. haha!

If I had unlimited funds, I would shop at Coach, Limited, Express, Macy's, Ann Taylor Loft, & Target (of course) :)

I always honor cravings... except last night. All I wanted was a big bowl of oats for dinner, and I do didn't have it. Then I didn't eat my dinner because it tasted like butt.

I don't ALWAYS honor my cravings to their fullest capacity or I'd constantly be shoving wheat thins & wispride, peanut butter cups, pickles and cinnamon buns down my face.
However, I try to satisfy my sweet/salty/cheese tooth at least a little bit (didn't know I had a CHEESE tooth now didja?!)
I like your blog because you like to eat and you aren't afraid to say so and you eat real ice cream. I get the feeling that we could be friends and go on a Coach shopping spree.
Awesome....

wow! that is some serious self control. i usually do a decent job when i'm at home, but all bets are off when i'm on vacation. way to be strong!

i don't always give in to my cravings. i try to distinguish between the cravings i have because my body needs a nutrient and the ones i feel because i just saw a plate full of cookies...

i would shop at banana republic, ann taylor, nordstrom, victorias secret, and white house black market...its fun to imagine a world like that....ahhhh...

Ha! I am totally over the top when it comes to shopping (esp. online shopping)! How easy it is to browse while all comfy and cozy in bed?! It's a habit that i HAVE to kick. If I could shop anywhere it would be Anthropologie for the clothing AND the houseware!

"Do you honor your cravings?"

I try to, just for that same reason. It's better to have a little of something when the craving first strikes than a lot of it after suppressing it for a while.

"What is your FAVORITE store to shop at? (MONEY NOT BEING AN OBJECT)"

I am going to sound so lame, but Target. I LOVE that store far too much, and I cannot walk out of there without spending at least $40.
PS: So jealous of the mall. I live 4 hours from the closest good mall, and while it could be far worse, it's annoying, especially when I need new clothes and I have to wait until a trip home or a trip to these other places.

I will usually give into my cravings or some mild form of it-if I can make it healthier, I will.

As far as stores, I have not ammended my rediculous shopping habits, but I am not married:) I too have a better running wardrobe than regular wardrobe, so my favs would probably be: The Nike Store, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, JCrew and Target. I have bad obsessions with all of those!!!!

You didn't buy ANYTHING! My, the restraint!! Ahhhh-Nordstrom's....Kate Spade....Bloomingdales...Anthropologie (love it) , Victoria's Secret (keeps me from looking like a 12 year old boy) Nike...OK-reality check!!! Target, Walmart.....

I once had a dream I was pouring a McDonald's salt packet into my hand and licking it off. Perhaps my body needed salt..lol! Totally agree with honoring your cravings (in moderation).

I do like the 30 day Shred. I like it more because I'm doing it with my daughter or I might stick to one of my other routines. Only 20 minutes and I think Jillian does a good job! I change weights a lot-between 5, 8, 10, although I'll admit at times my arms would have hurt with NO weights!! Hope you enjoyed that ice cream! I'm now wondering if I should give in to my ice cream craving at 8:49 a.m. Hmmmmm

I try and give in to one out of every five cravings, keeping the portion sizes in moderation of course. Or, if they're a healthy I'll just give in to all of them, nothing wrong with craving a bowl of soup, a coffee, oatmeal, an apple, yogurt, etc!

Mission Viejo mall is my FAVORITE!!

I try to moderate my giving into cravings. It's 90% of why I run - I feel so much better about that moderate sized piece of cake after I've logged a few miles.
