Post-Race Partying

Once I got over my lame sauce feeling sorry for myself boo hooing I remembered I was on vacation and it was time to party.

We went back to the condo (thanks again Megan and Bryce for having us) and got ready.  Pretty sure I took a 30 minute HOT shower (sorry environment) to warm up my cold muscles after shivering for the last 2 hours.

We then headed to the best post race fuel ever.  Megan's little bro is sponsored by Cafe Rio for cycling and so we got the hookups.

IMG_4402.JPG

I got the usual salad but with steak this time.  My body was yelling for some iron and lots of protein.

IMG_4413.JPG

Pretty funny that even when traveling and a million new restaurants to go to I still choose Cafe Rio.  I don't think I could live if they ever went out of business, but I don't have to worry about that because I am pretty sure I keep them in business all on my own. Maybe I could get them to sponsor my blog.  I will be making some phone calls.

After lunch we went and got Billy new RUNNING shoes using the gift card I won at the race.

He got the Saucony Progrid Mirage.  They are awesome.  P.S.  He admitted that he likes running now:)

IMG_4415.jpg

Don't worry he is not wearing capri's, they had him roll his pants up.

We may have spent a really long time talking to the running store people and before we knew it....it was dinner time.

Megan is also a chef.  Yes, I know my friends are a trillion times cooler than me and now Billy thinks it is normal for wives to whip up AMAZING dinners for their husbands.   Give me a little credit, I am really good at pushing start on the microwave for his frozen burrito's and taquito's.

IMG_4416.JPG

Pretty sure I could eat this meal for the rest of my life and be happy.  She used this RECIPE from Cooking Light for the chicken.  There was also real mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, rolls and a spinach salad.

IMG_4423.jpg

After dinner we talked for a while and then watched 6 episodes of Modern Family. Sounds like the perfect night to me.

Don't drool but this is what I was served for breakfast this morning.  That's it, I am officially moving in with them.  Waffle's topped with greek yogurt and fresh fruit.

IMG_4425.JPG

Goodbye St. George, I love you.  I am a little mad at you for having perfect running temps and conditions today, you tease.

IMG_4427.JPG

We are on our way home listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers and just passed by the Biggest Loser van?!?!  Jillian must be near by.....I will meet her one day.

IMG_4429.JPG

Hope you are having a relaxing Sunday and THANK YOU so much for the sweet comments!  I can't wait to finally be able to read your blogs and catch up on your lives.....I feel like I have gone from talking to my best friends everyday and knowing exactly what is going on in your life to nothing.  Yes, I am Janae and I am obsessed with blogging.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Where did you grow up?

-I grew up in St. George, Utah but it has changed a lot since we moved.  It will always hold a special place in my heart.

Do you read blogs everyday?  How long have you been reading blogs?

-I have been reading blogs for probably 2.5 years.  It is a major part of my everyday life.

Favorite waffle toppings?

Fresh mango, strawberries, bananas and blueberries won my heart over this morning.

I've only been reading blogs for a few months now, but I love them! They are inspirational, and I love how supportive my blog friends are!

I love regular syrup on waffles. I know, I'm lamesauce, but hey. WHy mess with a good thing?!

I grew up in Jacksonville, FL and it is still my favorite place on Earth. There's just something about your hometown, I think!

I can't even remember how long I've been reading blogs, but I'd guess at least 3 years. I'm addicted to Google Reader.

I grew up in Indiana, Pennsylvania. That is unpleasant to try to explain to people.

I am dying to try Cafe Rio! Everyone I know who lives in or visits Utah says it is amazing.

I think you did an AMAZING job on the race, especially considering the wind, the hills, and the mental effects of getting lost on the way! I'm glad you had such a good time, and every race is positive because you learn something from it :)

I grew up in Chowchilla, CA. It is a tiny farming community smack in the middle of the San Joaquin Valley which is smack in the middle of CA. We moved there when I was three. At that time in 1978, there were no stop lights, no fast food restaurants, and only 5,000 people living there. My mom and sister still live there, and I think there are three stop lights, four fast food restaurants and a few more thousand people. It's still tiny.

I've been reading blogs probably for about three years. I love blogs. Because of blog reading, I don't read books as much much any more! Woops.

I love strawberries and whipped cream on my waffles.

You are an amazing runner. I can only wish upon a star that I will EVER be as fast as you. Great job with all of your goals!

I grew up in the Virgin Islands (St. Croix). I lived there until 10th grade & then I moved to South Carolina. Now I just tell people South Carolina because it is much easier to explain!

I've been reading blogs for about 1.5-2 years now. I think I found my first one through a random google search. I don't know what I did before that!

p.s. Does getting sponsored by Cafe Rio mean you get free food as well? You should SO try to do it!

I do read blogs every day. I only started about a year ago. It makes me wonder what I ever did with the internet before Facebook and Blogger. I honestly don't remember.

I grew up in a small town in west Tennessee. I moved away for a few years, but now I'm back!

I've been reading blogs for about 2-3 years, but have really gotten into them in the last year. I hope to start my own blog soon, but I know I will be OBSESSED and need to make sure I have the time to dedicate to it first! :)

Growing up, my dad used to make homemade waffles every Saturday morning. I would fill every single hole with a mini M&M and then top it with fresh whipped cream. It.was.amazing. I also love fresh fruit, nuts, and peanut butter on my waffles (not all together)!

I'm so glad Billy admits to enjoying running now. I convinced Daniel to run with me yesterday for the first time in a looooong time. Today he bought new running shoes. :)

Hey girl-
Don't beat yourself up about today. You are still Superwoman and everyday you inspire me to run farther and faster and see if one day I can accomplish half of the things you have!

I grew up in a small town in the foothills of the Adirondack mountains in upstate NY. I miss it!

I started reading blogs when I started blogging a few months back- I'm addicted!

My favorite wafel toppings are Nutella and Spekuloos (a Belgian spread that looks like PB but tastes like graham crackers)! My fiance works for Wafels and Dinges in NYC (www.wafelsanddinges.com), so I'm spoiled with handmade belgian wafels ALL THE TIME. Awesome!

Awesome Eats!!!

I grew up in the heart of Lancaster County, PA. (Also known as Amish Country).

I read blogs every day. It is kinda sad, I suppose, but I just love all my internet friends so much. It's such a great community!

I haven't had a waffle in forever, but I LOVE bananas and syrup on top!

Your blog makes me so happy, Janae :)
I love reading your blog. I've been reading almost daily for about 2 months, but I've been reading blogs in general for about 2 years.

Nothing beats waffles in the morning. (ok, maybe ice cream or cake-but thats a given)
I like my waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Yum.

I grew up all over for the first part of my life. We even lived in Mexico for a while because my parents were missionaries. We finally settled back in Minnesota when I was 13.

I've read blogs for the past 3-4 years. I read yours everyday, Cotters, and a few others.

Hiiiiiiii hungryrunnergirl! So I know you have like 593850 comments a day, but I just wanted to let you know I am your newest stalker! (in a non-creepy way of course) and this may sound cheesy/dumb but coming across your blog has motivated me to run with a new perspective and remember the real reasons why I love running...thank you! :)

[I grew up in sweet home alabama, have been reading blogs on and off for 2 years, and love blueberry waffles hands down]

Hi!

How nice of you to share your gift card with Billy! I loved the disclaimer about the man capris! That waffle looks AMAZING. Isn't breakfast the best?!

I grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis.

Recently got hooked on google reader...i feel so disconnected if i get behind on my subs! haha

As for my waffles...oh man. Chocolate chips! Or tons of berries. Or strawberries and whipped cream. Or peanut butter and syrup.

Billy-very European in his man capris. Just needs the man purse aka European carryall to go with them! Score on the shoes!!

I just read your race report. Congratulations Janae!! Great job in subpar conditions! You're processing the the stupid feelings of inadequacy that creep up VERY well and constructively. I hate that for even a moment you would feel upset. You are just EXACTLY where you want to be right now!! A "perfect" scenario prep race isn't always the best thing going into the A goal race! No worries for Boston at all!!! Great job!

Grew up in Canada and Northern MN. Been reading blogs about 2 years. Made a couple of LIFELONG friends. Have a great night:)

I grew up in a small town in Ohio.

I love reading blogs! I read some every day, even if I don't have time to blog myself or comment on others. I've been reading blogs on and off for 2.5 - 3 years now. It took me awhile to start my own, but I liked commenting on other blogs, so it seemed like a good way to connect with others.

2. Read blogs most days. Except when super busy or out of town. Been reading some blogs for probably a year and a half? Maybe 2 years?
3. I'll take anything on a waffle. Fruit, Chocolate, Nutella, Whipped Cream...it's all good.

Every time you post anything from Cafe Rio I want to jump on a plane and visit RIGHT NOW.

-I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota (midwest, holler!) and lived there my whole life until I ran away to Massachusetts for college. Now I'm studying abroad in Denmark, which is fabulous, but super far away.

-I read blogs daily and have for about a year and a half, I think? But I only discovered Googlereader recently, and thus my blog-list has expanded from about 10 to about 50 in the last few months. I love it though! Your lives are all so interesting.

-Waffle toppings? Butter and cinnamon sugar, nice and simple. :D

I've never been to Cafe Rio before but, you make me want to go check it out!! LOOKS GREAT!!

Janae, you're a good wife for buying your honey new shoes!! Who knows maybe you're quietly inspiring/motivating him to run a race with you!!

My father was in the Air Force so, we never stayed in one place too long. I was born in Florida, lived in Denver,CO, spent all of my high-school years in Okinawa,JPN. Utah seems like such a beautiful state. I'd love to visit one day!! Not, crazy about waffles. Once in a great while I like an eggo with a smear of peanut butter. I've been reading a few blogs for a little while but, there's only a couple that I comment on.

4. I grew up in Springfield, Illinois, aka the home of Lincoln.
5. I do read blogs everyday. I've been reading them for about 2 years now. Most of them are about running.
6. I like powdered sugar on my waffles. I've never had fruit on them.

So exciting that your hubby likes running now! Your friend is an amazing cook for sure. I would love to see the biggest loser van, Jillian is my idol! I grew up in Rochester, NY. I can't live without reading blogs, I was sick yesterday and now I have to completely catch up today or I'm lost. Any sort of fruit + whipped cream works for me on waffles!

Holy cow! I would love to stay with a chef! You do have some really cool friends. That food looks a-mazing.

I have been reading blogs for about a year now. I don't read them too much on the weekends because that is my unplugged time of the week. :) Otherwise, daily! I am obsessed (obvi, look at my gazillion comments to you).

I have Angela try the Beta-Alanine yesterday and she had some seriously funny side effects. Her ears were tingling and they turned bright red! I couldn't help but laugh at her. I know, I am rotten.

I am a rural Iowa girl and always have been and probably always will be. I do appreciate the clarification on Billy's pants because this was what I actually thought: "Hmmm... is he wearing capris? Do guys wear those? I wonder if it's coming into style. (It takes awhile for fashion from the east and west coast to make its way to rural Iowa, so I'm usually completely clueless about things like this)." So thank you for clarifying that little tidbit for me. I am kind of awkward in the fashion realm. :) And I just got introduced to the blogging realm in August. It's fun!
