HONEYMOON!!!

Workout:

45 minute spin class (if you are in p-town, I teach Wednesday nights @ 6:30, Thursday morn @ 6:00 and Saturday morn @ 9:15, come and let's be sweaty bff's.

45 minutes elliptical.  I had a magazine and the time went by fast.  I really think that cross-training is a great thing to do while training....at least for my body, my joints can only handle so much running.  Mentally, I would run everyday but gotta keep my joints healthy.

FIFTEEN MINUTES of weights.  I was burning by the end and quite proud of myself.

I may have stayed at the gym way too long and would have been super late to school if I got ready there.  Is it weird that I showered and got ready in the girls locker room at my school.....hey, I don't have a 1st period Tuesday and Thursday....I think this may be a new habit.  It was nice to take my time and have the whole locker room to myself.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Time for another ridiculously photoriphic filled post.

I did my wedding recaps here and here. I decided today that I would show you what we did for our honeymoon.  I am doing this because I was day dreaming during my 12 hour work day of going on vacation with billster and started looking at our previous vacation pictures and thought, 'why not overload you with pictures and talk about something that was almost 2 years ago.'

The first night we stayed at the most beautiful bed and breakfast in Heber, Ut (in between Provo and Park City).  It was gorgeous and the breakfast was amazing....um, biscuits and gravy, yes please.

IMG_1691.JPG

We stuck around P-town for two days to open presents and to spend time with family that had flown in for the wedding.  We then drove to Cali where we stayed at a fancy hotel (thanks mom and dad jacobs) because we had an open house in California.  It was awesome.....delicious foods, friends and family in California and of course getting to wear your dress again and get all dolled up.

4419_663707622619_17816157_37661235_2022600_n.jpg

We then set off for our cruise.  I think you either love cruises or you hate them.  Billy and I are OBSESSED with cruises.  We went on one with my family to the Caribbean 2 years earlier and we knew that we wanted to go on one for our honeymoon (once again, thanks mom and dad jacobs:)

I think we will choose to cruise wherever we want to go vacation...Europe, Asia, you name it.....get us on that boat.

We love everything about it....the night entertainment, an awesome gym just steps from your room, ridiculous amounts of delicious food (especially, the free ice cream station that is open 24 hours a day), hanging out with retired cruisers that cruise around the world rather than having a home, the fact that it is super cheap for us since we don't spend money on alcohol or gambling, being taken to awesome locations without having to plan a thing.  Pools, hot tubs, ice-skating rink, someone cleans your room everyday and leaves towels that are folded into cute animals, free hot chocolate,  the awesome staff from all over the world....okay, I think you get it.  We are obsessed with cruises.

IMG_1700.jpg

IMG_1717.jpg

We were supposed to go Mexico on our cruise but the whole Swine Flu thing rerouted us up North.  At first I was a little disappointed but I LOVED the places that we went because I had never been to them and they were so beautiful.  The only annoying part of cruises is the mandatory practice emergency evacuation.  Boring, but somehow we managed to make it fun.

IMG_1698.JPG

Every night you get to eat in a fancy dining room and order whatever and as many items from the menu as you want.  I think my average was 3 appetizers, a main course and 3 desserts.  I obviously licked my plate clean in the photo below.

IMG_1715.JPG

Our first stop was to Astoria, Oregon (where the Goonies was filmed).  We walked the entire town and had the best clam chowder ever.  There were also some amazing antique shops, an awesome museum and the coolest small town feeling.  Oregon is so green and the air was so clean....I think I want to move there.

IMG_1722.JPG

And there was a purple house....obsessed.

IMG_1724.JPG

IMG_1734.jpg

Next stop was Victoria, Canada.  I had never been to Canada before and it was way too awesome.

IMG_1753.JPG

Yes, 2 of each please.

IMG_1755.JPG

IMG_1760.JPG

Just to prove that I am not the only weirdo in this marriage.....

IMG_1769.jpg

We also had some of the best candy and hot chocolate in my life in Canada.  I will be back with more money next time and buy out the whole store.

IMG_1773.JPG

We found a little restaurant by the water that was amazing.  Fun fact....I took pictures of meals that I thought were beautiful before I even knew what blogs were. I can't help the fact that I think food is pretty:)

IMG_1770.JPG

The final stop on the cruise was in Seattle.  K, Seattle stole my heart.  I felt like it was a super clean, safe version of New York.  The food + the shopping + the people =amazing.  Billy, can we go back asap???

IMG_1793.JPG

This was the first time I had ever tried fish and chips.  They were a fear food of mine for way too long.  How did I miss out on this amazing meal for so many years of life.  I am ashamed and have declared to make up for lost time and order it whenever we are at a place with good seafood (yeah, Utah doesn't really have the freshest fish).

IMG_1817.JPG

We even made some friends on the cruise that were on their honeymoon and from P-town at the same time as us.  Fun Fact #2 Billy likes to pretend he is a professional skater and does all the crazy tricks, moves and facial expressions as Will Ferrell on "Blades of Glory."

IMG_1830.JPG

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever been on a cruise?  Where did you go? Did you like it?

-I have been on three and they are my favoritest in the whole wide world.

Where did you go on your honeymoon? Where would you go on your dream honeymoon?

Are there any foods that you never had for the first big chunk of your life that you have recently tried and loved?

-Besides fish and chips.  Bacon.  I was always afraid of it but I ate it at Billy's parent's house recently and I am hooked.

LOL to Billy's comment above. I love these photos! And I love that purple house. Can we live in it together with our Billys?? Our lawyer husbands. PLEASE? With all the traveling we've done, we've NEVER been on a cruise. And I really want to go on one! How about the 4 of us go? Do you see the theme of my comment? Let's hang out. Billy and I traveled through Europe for our honeymoon. Most amazing trip of my life and I love that I blogged while we were there so we can go back to read all the recaps! p.s. you & Lindsay make me want to teach spin...

I'm so glad you liked Seattle. I love living here. It's such a great city, its the right size, and clean, and has great food. You guys should definitely come back, and i will tell you all the amazing places to go.

I love cruises! I went on my first one last summer with my mom. We went to Key West and Cozumel. (we nearly didn't get to go to Key West due to a tropical storm but they rearranged the itinerary.)
My mom has gone on 2 before this one and I'm hooked now too! We went to Ben and Jerry's every night and shared a cone while watching a free movie. :) good times!

For our honeymoon we went to Rivera Maya in Mexico! We had a great time there!

I went on my first cruise this past December. My husband and I LOVED it! I can't wait to go on another one! We went to St. Thomas, Grand Turk, and St. Maartin.

Cruising is definitely the way to go!

I don't think I'd be a cruise person, but I've never been on one. But we generally like going to lesser-known places and being on our own.

Our honeymoon started in Italy where we got married, then we went to Athens and Santorini Greece, then on to Istanbul, Turkey. Last night of the honeymoon was in Frankfurt, Germany, just so we'd have a direct flight home.

Your cruise pictures look so fun, especially hearing about all the food, yum!
I've never been on a cruise, but I'd love to go on one. My neighbor's whole extended family goes on one every other year - lucky her!
I'd love to go to Europe or New Zealand & Australia for my honeymoon. I'm dying to go to New Zealand - it has beaches & mountains and is so beautiful. Plus, I have a friend there.

We cruised to the Bahamas (4 days) with 3 nights in Disney after for our honeymoon.

Are you sitting? I didn't eat ice cream until I was 18 yo. I was convinced I didn't like it. Whuck? Ever since I saw the light I have been making up for lost time. Could it be that JP Licks in Boston (where I went to college) was my turning point? Who knows. But that store sure did get all the money I had left after texts were bought each semester.

Your photos look like fun!!

Dark chocolate ginger-yummy and delicius treat!
And sushi

And steak.

I didn't like red meat for most of my life-I was missing out...

Fish n Chips is a Kiwi thing! There are fish and chip shops all over the place here. When we get rich, i'll pay for you and Billy to come visit.

Okay, this has nothing to do with honeymooning, but tell me more about spinning. I've always wanted to go but they all look (no offense) a little crazy from outside the room. Very intense. Is it hard? I have pretty good endurance, but are there actual moves? Can you go at your own pace without looking like an idiot?

ok never been on a cruise. would love to go to Alaska, afraid of getting sea sick.

Went to Maui and I loved it. We did all kinds of cool stuff. Biking down a volcano, snorkling, the road to Hana..craziest drive ever.

Dream one: Ireland. I love green spaces. I am from Canada where it is green and the air is clean.

We just got married in May and we took our honeymoon in New York City. It was the best. Loved it.

I just tried okra for the first time a couple months ago, and now I am obsessed. I can't believe I went for so many years without it!

I finally figured out how to make good, baked tofu, so I've been enjoying that lately.

A couple of days after high school graduation, a bunch of us went on a cruise. That's the only one I've been on. It was great! But I think I prefer an extended stay in one location. When we travel, I like to really explore the places we go in depth. You just can't do that on a cruise. You're there for a few hours then you're gone, so you miss out on a lot of the beauty of where you were!

Our honeymoon was actually built into our wedding. We flew into St. Thomas on Sunday, went to pick up our marriage license on Monday, had our engagement photos taken Monday afternoon/evening, and the wedding was Tuesday! Wednesday through Saturday were spent thoroughly enjoying the islands!

We were supposed to go to Mexico during the whole swine flu thing too. We had reservations for Cabo San Lucas but ended up changing our plane tickets and resort reservations last minute and went to Barbados instead! It was fantastic. We ended up going to Cabo last year and it was EQUALLY fantastic!

Maaaaan... with all this travel talk, I'm wanting to book this year's vacation NOW!

We go on a lot of cruises--best bang for your buck. ust Mexico though--the 7 day 3 times, the 3 day once and the 4 day 2 times. And our honeymoon? a cruise. We are only a few hours from the dock and I love not having to think. Take me there and feed me--I want my brain to go on vacay too.
Thanks BTW for the cross training comment. I have been so scared to do it but since I keep getting inured I know I have to. My mind really really wants to run every day but my body is not in agreement. I just need to jump in and I am scared. Glad to have read your blog post today..

We went to Key West, FL for our honeymoon. It was awesome. So warm. We went almost 4 months after we got married, which was perfect because who doesn't love Florida in late January?

I didn't like mustard for a long time. Or seafood. I like both now. Living in New England you pretty much have to like seafood. I think it's the law.

Not hitched... yet... but, it's all planned in my head - Caribbean (told you we were obsessed). A week at our spot and then a week at the Sugar Mill on Tortolla.

Sushi. I tried it for the first time like 8 years ago (god, I'm getting old) but, discovered I LOVED it! Now, can't get enough.

I totally want to go on an Alaskan Cruise and a Mediterranean cruise! I've never been on a cruise. :( I'd really like to, though. We plan on going to Ireland for our honeymoon, but we won't be able to right after the wedding. We'll probably do it the summer after we get married. I went 22 years without EVER having tomato soup. Then I was visiting family and my aunt made grilled cheese and tomato soup for my little cousins for lunch and I decided to go for it (seeing as I love grilled cheese) and o.m.g. SO GOOD. I then went like two months having it several times per week. I legit became OBSESSED. I don't let myself have it often anymore, but the idea of having it all the time is still amazing, even two years later.

I hadn't tried avocado until my senior year of high school, didn't really care for it at first but really like it now. Also, I didn't used to like tomato soup and I love it now; I'm getting to where I like tomatoes themselves.

Your cruise looked like so much fun! Between the three cruises I've been on, I've been to St. Martin, St. Thomas, Cozumel, Mexico, Grand Caymen, Haiti, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico. I like cruises, because of the unlimited food obvi, but I think I like staying in one area better.

Dream honeymoon...Europe? :)

I never had parsnips until last week and they were great!

YOU ARE AWESOME. I get this biggest kick out of you? ARE you aware it just snowed like 8-10 inches here? ARKANSAS--northcentral?? I feel like you! You would be proud, I've been gymming it---bright and early on that treadmill---wishing for springtime outside.

For your birthday you must have brownie sundaes with a variety of toppings---chocolate, reese's, swedish fish, nuts, caramel, something like that would be SPLENDID----

speaking of which--i have never had a swedish fish and wouldn't even know where to look for one. Hugs--your BFF from AR--Elizabeth

Astoria.....we hit that spot on our travels to Oregon 2 years ago. Good times, good times.

Hubs and i honeymooned to Colorado. We absolutely love to walk into the woods, or knock off a summit together..... it was a dream for us......sounded like work to some of our friends.

New foods: Eggs used to sit funny with me, but not anymore so I have an egg sandwich once a week now. Also used to hate brussel spouts, now looooove, didn't like cooked carrots, now loooove.

Have your students taken your energy like mine have this week?? It's friday tomorrow!

I hadn't had eggs in 11 years after a bad incident with them, but then last year my Dad made me an awesome omelette, and now I am hooked on them and would eat them all the time if I could. Also, I used to only eat the vegetable pakoras from Indian restaurants, but I recently started trying all the dishes- let me tell you, best decision ever!! Do they have a lot of Indian restaurants in Provo?

I love your honeymoon recap & pics!!! You're both gorgeous humans.

I've never been on a cruise, but I'd like to cruise around Alaska in the summertime. Otherwise, I really like staying in the hot & tropical places we go on vacation.

We honeymooned in London, my husband's family is British. We spent almost three weeks there and it was glorious!

I had never eaten Thai or Indian food until I was almost 30. Now we are addicted to Thai food and we go to our favorite restaurant so much they don't even ask us for our order anymore :o).

Happy Thursday!

We went on a cruise for our honeymoon too. And had a last minute change out of our control too. The boiler room on our cruise ship exploded a few months prior to our honeymoon. The cruise line called and told us they were putting us on a new ship, but due to the rescheduling required, they could only give us a 5 day cruise instead of 7 day. And at that time no other cruise lines had openings. And we already had plane tickets, so we had to depart and arrive at the same port. All that said, we still had a wonderful honeymoon, got to stay the first 2 nights in some really sweet hotels, thanks to my dad's help, and had a wonderful cruise. It was my 3rd, my hubby's 1st. Next up: disney cruise with the kids... once we save up.

I JUST went on my first cruise two weeks ago. We went on a 3 day to Baja! It was fun and I LOOOVE the 24 hr all inclusive food! TO DIE!Unfortunately I got a bit seasick the 2nd day, but it's all good.

Hubs and I went to Maui on our Honeymoon...THE BEST!! I love Hawaii and this little island was so cute and romantical! Oh Memories!

For our honeymoon, John and I went to Breckenridge, CO for two weeks and it was amazing. All we did was sleep, eat tons of food, sleep some more, do puzzles, walk around town, eat more food, tons of food and ice cream, and two family size bags of PB M&Ms, and then cry when we left.

On my dream honeymoon, I think I'd go to Costa Rica. I hear wild horses run along the beach at night and they have "the best banana split sundaes you'll ever have in your life, ever." according to my friend Jen.

You have some really cute clothes! Where's the black hoodie from???

I love blades of glory. and Will Ferrell.

My one and only cruise: with my parents and sister, senior year of high school. We went to Cozumel and New Orleans. We were supposed to go to Grand Cayman, but someone on our cruise had a heart attack and needed to be medevac-ed so the ship turned around and headed back toward FL to be within range for the helicopter. Because of this, we were unable to go to Grand Cayman, but we were able to spend an extra day in Cozumel.

Our honeymoon:
Since we paid for most of our wedding and we were both in grad school at the time, we just did a weekend getaway after our wedding.
Got married in Western NY, then went to Lake Placid, NY for 2 or 3 nights before coming back home to NJ (and back to work and grad school).

Then we saved up some moolah and went to St Thomas for 5 days that December.

I went on a cruise when I was 14 with a friend and haven't been on one since so it's hard for me to judge because I feel like I'm in such a difference place right now, a.k.a. not a boy crazy teen so I care about more aspects that 'hot boys'. The boyfriend and I were contemplating whether we'd like one or not? Yours looked like so much fun! I would really love to take a week and a half to two weeks traveling around Europe, fingers crossed I can afford that whenever I become a newlywed! My mom is pretty picky so I wasn't fed a lot of foods, ex. fish, when I was growing up so I try to be open minded and try things every chance I get!

I've never been on a cruise, but Daniel and I plan on going on one in the next few years!

We went to St. Lucia (in the West Indies) on our honeymoon...ohhhh myyyy goshhhhh... amazing! We are going back for our 5 year anniversary (which is amazingly in 2012 - how did that happen?). It is so gorgeous and I cannot wait to go back!

We grew produce when I was growing up, and I spent summers working packing tomatoes and cabbage. I was so disgusted by the smell of rotten tomatoes (the ones that fell off the belt and hit the floor, in 100 degree TN heat..eww) that I could not eat raw tomatoes for several years. Thankfully, I am over it now! We even grow our own and I love having them fresh! *bacon is amazing :)

I would love to go on a cruise, but I get car/bus/sea sick pretty easily and I'm wary of getting on a boat for 4+ days. I know people say you don't really feel the movement of a ship that huge enough to make you sick, but with my luck I would get sick within 5 minutes, but refuse to get off because I am cheap, and not even a little puke is gonna make me pay for a vacation that I didn't enjoy!

And I like run on sentences.

We also went on a carnival cruise (I could tell by the towel animals!) for our honeymoon, and I agree, it was amazing. We are dying to go on another one and hopefully work schedules will allow us to plan one someday! We went to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica and as I am typing this I am about to quit my job to run down to the harbor with my husband and just sneak on to the closest cruise, like Leo's friend did in Titanic. We took advantage of the 24 hour ice cream like our lives depended on it. We tried so unique foods on it, why not, it was included, and if we didn't like it we would just get something else! The craziest was escargot!

My husband and I went on a Disney cruise for our honeymoon. I loved it, but ended up sea-sick. I took Dramamine (makes you very drowsy) and ended up sleeping much of our honeymoon away. I didn't realize how much I had slept until later when Husband showed me all the video he took while I was sleeping.

But, I would love to find a non-drowsy cure so I can cruise again. Despite the sea-sickness I loved it.

We went to a state park for our honeymoon in a little furnished cabin. It would have been fun, but Aaron got sick on Day #1 and spent the entire honeymoon in bed sleeping with a raging fever. I would have been able to enjoy myself for a bit exploring the nearby hiking trails, lake and beach, except for the fact that it rained the ENTIRE time we were there and I was stuck indoors the entire time with an unresponsive spouse with NOTHING to do. We still laugh about our very unromantic honeymoon and do everything possible to make up for that each time we get the chance to get out without the kids.

I have been on 2 cruises, both times with a friend, and both times from LA to Mexico. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I plan to take one with my husband one of these days, I know he will love it too. I never thought of doing a cruise along the coast but it looks like so much fun! I'd love to visit all of those places.

I'm glad you didn't get caught by the Heber Creeper.

Hey! Questionably amusing story that won't fit on twitter since and I suspect you're generally entertained by stories:

In 2007 I took a geology field class out in your neck of the woods. We stayed at "the Chat" in PC and drove all over the area checking out and mapping the rocks. One of our projects was at Deer Creek State Park where we were warned we needed to be very mindful of the train tracks because we were mapping along there and often crossed them. The tracks make a few turns here and there to follow the shore so we were told we probably wouldn't hear the train until it was very close so to be very careful when near the tracks because the train would approach quickly. They reiterated this so much that we were became paranoid anytime we were near the tracks (most of the time we were scouring the hillside looking for outcrops). Why did we have to map here? It sounded pretty dangerous. Surely there are other areas we could have gone instead that were less dangerous.

We were out there for three days total and it wasn't until the third day that we actually saw the Heber Creeper. Here creeeeeps up the slowest train I've ever seen .. honking its horn over and over with tourists yelling and waving at us and taking our pictures. You could walk as fast as it was traveling. What a joke!

The Goonies! Very cool. I adore the hot chocolate picture of you. All your pictures turn out so nice! You and your Billster have the best photogenicness going on. I've never been on a cruise--I'm terrified of sharks and since boats are ON the water and sharks are IN the water...not so sure I could handle that. I had a hard bump from a curious sand tiger shark and lets just say its a good thing I was already in the water cuz I may have peed just a little when I felt it and then saw a fin out the of corner of my mask. (google sand tiger shark and check out the chompers--seriously need orthodontics!)

Beautiful honeymoon pictures!
