How do you egg?

Billy wins again.

He made me breakfast this morning with his newest method.

Yesterday, while I was running he came up with a new cooking skill.

He calls it the FROACH.  It is his take on combining a fried egg with a poached egg.

He was a little weary of sharing it with the world but I finally convinced him to allow me to post it.

If you do make it for someone you must share with that person that it is Billy Jacobs Recipe and that he is awesome, otherwise you might get into copyright issues.

First, fry the egg with a little bit of butter just until the edges of the egg white turn solid white and are no longer clear.

Then, add one Tbs. water per egg and cover immediately on med-low just until it is done to your likeness.

IMG_3704.JPG

Once it is done take off the lid and let the water boil off (takes a few seconds).

Cover with lots of cheese, salt and pepper.

Ladies and gentlemen, it was the best egg I have ever had.

We also had some banana, chocolate chip pancakes.  Sunday's rock.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So tell me.....what is your favorite method of cooking for your eggs?  Remember "Runaway Bride?"  This question always reminds me of that movie!!!

-I am loving the froach approach! FLUFFY egg white combined with a little buttery fried goodness and a runny yoke.  Count me in.

If you don't like eggs plain then tell me what your favorite food is that contains eggs.

-Cookies, angel food cake and pancakes.

I'm liking this froached method - I'll refer to them as Billy Eggs... ;)

And I'm about to put some eggs to good use in the process of making a big ol' batch of Monster Cookies!

Your Billy and my Billy are egg geniuses! Mine learned how to poach the perfect egg at the beginning of our relationship when I told him poached eggs were my favorite. Now that's love! :)

This method sounds so good! My boyfriend & I take turns making each other overeasy eggs in english muffins with cheddar cheese, salsa, and sometimes avocado! They're so good, but I definitely want to try out this method.

Still loving your blog =) Just thought you should know every so often, or I feel like a stalker.

I tried your egg wraps last night with my sister. You can see my picture here if you want:

My pic is not nearly as pretty as yours (hello...snow in the background) so I posted a link to your blog, too.

And I LOVE scrambled eggs. Mostly as transporters for veggies and cheese =)

I love eggs! I tried to make an egg sandwich but FAILED...I need your recipe! :D

I'm impressed with Billy's method, aren't we lucky to have married hubby's that can cook?!

Can't go wrong with Cookies for me! :)

Uh, I want breakfast at your place... that all looks amazing.

I don't eat eggs very often anymore, but I Remember when I was younger and I first discovered fried eggs at my friend's house. I was in LOVE (my mom never used to fry anything, at all... I managed to get her to fry me some eggs occasioanlly after that experience, but she never let the yolks be runny because of that silly salmonella thing! ;) ).

And now I'm craving eggs. Drat.

You just made me hungry again!! This looks delicious :)

My favorite eggs are usually hard boiled eggs although you don't leave it as long and its still a bit runny! Those are the best!

Those pancakes look amazing! I don't really care for eggs, but when I do eat them I prefer either whites only, or scrambled. I have come to realize I like the yolks when they're hard boiled...

I was actually thinking earlier that I should make angel food cake.

First of all, my eggs must be SUPER hot. As in, I scarf them down as fast as possible when I sit at the table. I like them scrambled with cheese or in an omelet with veggies and cheese.

I'm actually doing a post this week on breakfast sandwiches... stay posted.

I love my plain egg whites. The yokes have always grossed me out unless it's eggs benedict, yum yum. I could eat eggs benedict for every meal, I need to learn how to make them though!

My mom makes something called 'shurred' eggs that are like really runny scrambled eggs = ballin' on some toast. Baked eggs are great too.

If a restaurant has egg drop soup on the menu, it goes in my belly. Period.

Scrambled eggs! Sometimes cheesy scrambled eggs (specifically with feta cheese) - I cannot handle runny yolks. Runny yolks make me gag! And I LOVED Runaway Bride. It came out when my friend and I were OBSESSED with Richard Gere (we were like 14 - a little odd) and we saw it in the theater like six times. Ridiculous. It's still great, though.

I love sunnyside up eggs, but sometimes when I make it, the white is cooked, but the yellow is cold. I think this is a BRILLIANT way to cook eggs. Tell Billy I said so! :)

Yup only like eggs in things- cookies I think top my list. But I also love brownies. My mum has chickens so she always gives me lots of eggs, so I have to use them up in baking! :)

I LOVED that part in Runaway Bride too! I love scrambled eggs because I'm lame like that. I didn't like eggs until about 5 years ago so I'm easing in :)

At January 17, 2011 at 8:36 AM , Blogger Sarah said...

I used to make my eggs like that and then I read a method that made it even easier! It's called Eggs Blindfolded... spray the pan, crack your egg(s), and then drop in a couple of ice cubes and cover. When the ice melts, the eggs are usually just about perfect! Love me some eggs. :)

At January 17, 2011 at 10:24 AM , Blogger Unknown said...

I no longer eat eggs but I used to love them sunny side up. I would dip my toast in the yolks, yum yum. :) Now, I think too much abuot the hens to enjoy them :(

I love plain eggs. I do basically the same thing, minus the water (and minus the cheese at the end). I will have to try the water now.

I always get my eggs over hard when I go out though, because to me, while runny yolk is delicious, running white parts is the grossest thing in the history of gross.

Well, you can tell Billy that he is encroaching our our copyright here. We've been "froaching," or whatever for a long time here in our home. My lawyer will be contacting him shortly!

I like making mini egg/muffins. Scramble the eggs and put into a greased muffin tin. Each person can customize their eggs. Bake until cooked through - about 15 minutes at 375*. So nice and yummy and easy to bake the day before for a good breakfast on the road!
