K, I went to the coolest ice cream place ever.

The lady working there thought I was creepy for taking pictures of her.  Your welcome....gosh, the things I do for you:)

I met up with my best college friend, Darcee, after school (she is a health teacher too) and went to SubZero, I had a coupon there....2 for 1!

No pictures of us because I was still in my teacher clothes, you know the one's that make me look like a 50 year old woman, and she was all cute and perfect and blah blah blah.

They make your ice cream with liquid nitrogen right in front of you.

I have never appreciated science this much until I can now apply it to ice cream.  I would have gotten an A in high-school science if we did things like this

I had carmel yogurt with brownie bits.

After chatting up a storm I went and picked up the cutest baby bath robe and slippers for another baby shower.

Utah is baby central and that means baby shower #2 within 120 hours of each other.

I didn't want to be the weirdo taking pictures of her food at the baby shower....actually that's not true I just completely forgot because my mind was occupied by the most delicious garlic hummus I have ever had.  The sugar cookies that were there melted in my mouth and I can still taste the frosting.

So tonight, instead of the usual dreams of getting a 2:50 marathon (I know kind of ridiculous but let me have my dreams) I will be dreaming of running a 2:50 marathon with those sugar cookies at each water station along the way.

Ended the night with my second egg and cheese sandwich of the day but this one had avocado and slaughtered Subways version.

Do you have Martin Luther King Jr. Day off?

-3 day weekend....hallelulujah.  That means Long Run Monday is going to occur.

What subject did you get your worst grades in growing up?

-Stupid AP biology....  Mr. Louder if you are reading this....first, of all that would be creepy if you were and second of all, it wasn't you I hated but it was your insane homework and tests I hated.

How often do you wear a ponytail?

-Almost every weekday.

Favorite avocado transporter?

-Love sandwiches but chips, carrots and pretzels also get the job done of filling my mouth with the delicious wonder food.

That is a pretty awesome ice cream place! :) Unfortunately I don't have Monday off! Boo! My worse subject was Math. It just killed me! There were many many nights spent at the kitchen table in tears as I tried to figure out my homework. I wear a ponytail every time I work out :) And I love avocado in tacos! Yum! Enjoy your long weekend!! :)

That ice cream place sounds like one that I would LOVE! I have Monday off and my hubby and I are extending the weekend and going to visit his family for several days! Definitely cheaper flights than if we had gone a couple weeks ago. Can't wait to run in warm-ish weather!

i love ice cream so i want to come visit! just for that ;)

1. i don't get monday off but because i'm an americorps vista i have to go to an event so i won't actually be at work worst subject in high school was physics. funny because i was a physics major and graduated with honors
3. i'll wear a ponytail whenever i workout and whenever i have to take a contact shower before going to work. but i love wearing my hair down.

AP Chemistry for me. My first teacher quit after the first semester, no joke, and we were taught the rest of the year by the hardest teacher in school!

At January 14, 2011 at 6:39 AM , Blogger Jody, RD said...

NO MLK day off for me. Booooo :(

AP Physics, I seriously still don't understand physics. I had the class after lunch and I used to literally sleep through the class everyday (as in my friend had to wake me up when the bell rang). The teacher used to always say while shaking his head "You're nothing like your older brother...blah blah blah"

I wear a ponytail when working out or maybe once a month if I wake up REALLY late.

At January 14, 2011 at 6:42 AM , Blogger Jogging with Fiction said...

I want that ice cream right now.

I only really wear a pony when I'm running or if it's really hot out. I LOVE my hair almost to the point of vanity, which is weird, because it's not that great, oh well. Plus I have pink highlights that I like to keep visible. It adds to my allure or something.

At January 14, 2011 at 6:45 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

You're too funny. My class that I got the worst grades in was math. I hated learning math in high school, but surprisingly it's my favorite subject to teach my kiddos these days. Weird. I loved English!!!

I wear a pony tail about 2 times a week (mainly because I haven't washed my hair - you're a bad influence on me!)

<3 ya! Have a great day!

At January 14, 2011 at 6:54 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Definitely chemistry. I was interested in it...but only when I didn't have to do homework and take exams...

I only wear ponytails when it's super windy out or my hair looks horrendous. I used to wear one every. single. day.

At January 14, 2011 at 7:04 AM , Blogger Mallory said...

That ice cream looks sooo good!!

I do have MLK day off and I cannot wait. I will be doing a long run that day too!!

Science was always my worst subject. I hated it... and still do. It just doesn't interest me but I think the worst class was Chemistry. Why do I need to know how to balance out the elements????

Ponytails almost every day... I usually start with it down but halfway through the day it goes up.

At January 14, 2011 at 7:08 AM , Blogger BigHappyFamily said...

No MLK break ... boo.

There was no variety in my grades. I was one of those losers growing up.

Every day pony tail... usually most of the day, but at a min when I get my run.

Can I have ice cream for breakfast?

At January 14, 2011 at 7:12 AM , Blogger 5 Miles 2 Empty said...

Ponytail-every day. I cut my hair once and was distraught because I couldn't wear a ponytail. I was lost and confused for like SIX months.

I was equally bad/awesome in all my HS classes...But I loved watching Mr. Hula's butt go from side to side as he erased the chalk board. He taught Biology and other sciences and was the men's cross country and track coach. But I'm sure YOUR class never watches yoru bootie as you write or erase the chalk board. Do you even have a chalk board? Or one of those fancy Smart Boards? Either way....

MLK day OFF!!!!! Yehaw!

I love that you thought your teacher clothes made you look old!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha, that could never happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are freaking adorable no matter what you are wearing. Thanks for the ice cream date!!!! I needed that, and it was so fun catching up and chatting. I love my girl time and you always brighten my day! I just love you!

You best believe I get Monday off! Woo Hoo!!!!! Sleep in city! I don't wear a pony tail often, but I wear a lot of buns!!! Like the ballerina bun. The same lady at the grocery store always asks me if I am a ballerina. I just laugh and tell her if she only knew...

Tried Avocado for my first time this last summer in a salsa and I LOVED it! I know you are probably freaking out that I just only recently tried it, but I loved it in the salsa with chips!

Pony's all.the.time.
Guacamole. Hands down. It's a recent development, since I moved to SoCal :D

Your ice cream place is like I-Cream here in Chicago (yes, it does have a dirty name!). They make ice cream in front of you, and hot pudding for winter.

Avocado to try: mash the avocado up, mix w/ some oil (olive or vegetable), salt & pepper, and use as a very simple guac. Spread on toast or scoop w/ crackers or chips. I learned that when I was in Chile - they had that a lot. They should know, many avocados in the US come from Chile.

I basically always wear a ponytail. Not much else I can do with my hair.

I guess, technically, I get MLKJ day off, but only because work is suckily slow so I'm on the schedule two days a week at the most. If I were still in school I'd get it off, too.

Avocados are wonderful in sandwiches.

At January 14, 2011 at 7:36 AM , Blogger Mrs. D said...

subzero is pretty much my favorite ice cream place in utah.

ponytail...everyday minus the first day of a new semester (gotta give the kids the illusion that I care about how I look) and some Sundays, but only for Church.

Math and Science were my worst subjects (hence why I teach art) and bless the public school system, I do get a much needed three day weekend. I can't wait to work out for two hours instead of my time crunched 30-45 :)

I put avocado in everything. Soups, salads, sandwiches, on pasta, there is NO appetizer or main course I won't try avocado with. My favorite would be the avocado egg rolls at cheesecake. heaven.

At January 14, 2011 at 7:48 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I say we organize our own marathon with that ice cream and those sugar cookies at the aid stations. We'd be more popular than Boston.

I never thought about putting avocado on my egg sandwich, but you have inspired me to try it. I eat a lot of egg sandwiches, egg burritos, egg and eggs. It will be today's lunch.

My worst subject was math, which is ironic since I am a finance professor and do really complicated math for my job. Before I was a finance professor, I was a geophysicist. Hello, mega hard math?!? I just joke and say that if math was my worst subject and I can do all of this that you should have seen how good I was at everything else. HA!

We have off for MLK Day because we live in the South. When I lived in the North, we never had off because we had off for President's Day. Apparently MLK is more important than the first President or the one who abolished slavery. Personally, I don't think you should have to choose one or the other. Take both. How is it in the West?

Ponytail every day in the morning and at night. I've been rocking the side ponytail lately.

At January 14, 2011 at 7:51 AM , Blogger Big Daddy Diesel said...

- I do not have MLK off, really bummed, wanted a day off

- English and Physics, I could never understand that one formula can solve all the problems of phyics, but my problem was you have to move the formula around, that is what I could never do

- If I dont have it in pigtails, I will use the ponytail, I look cute in both ;-P

- Mexican food, but last night I tried slice avacado on sliced tomatoes as my veggie, I liked it

I rock the ponytail more often than not. I don't wash my hair every day. Let's not be silly. And I love your comments on greasy bangs. You know what's worse though? Staticy bangs. My bangs have been looking like I've been electrocuted all winter. It's ridiculous.

The subject I got the worst grades in was Honors Algebra 1 and 2...not because I didn't get it but because I was in the class with a bunch of geniouses (I am not one) and the teacher assumed you understood as soon as he spoke. Anyway...B+s aren't so bad. :D
I definitely have MLK day off! It's hilarious. School was cancelled Monday-Thursday. Today's a workday...yes I'm posting from school shh... and now we have Monday off. Whee!
I think I would wear a ponytail if I had the patience to grow my hair out. I don't. :D

I wear my hair down or half up everyday then I ponytail it for workouts. I find my hair breaks easy so I try to make it grow but letting it be down.

Worst grades...Nothing comes to mind as being awful. I think I had a rough year of math in middle school, then it got better. I remember I got a 2 on one of my AP Econ exams (can't remember if it was macro or micro). And in college, I did awful with Art History. I shoulda stuck with music for my fine arts credit, which I had done all throughout high school.

I always start with my hair down or half up, and by mid day, I give up and resort to a pony tail. And ponytail anytime I work out.

Avocados...mixed up with tomatoes, red pepper, lime juice, etc. and on a tortilla chip. Or in a wrap/on a sandwich.

Ah! That's so cool! I want to go to OZone! Caramel with brownie sounds sooo good. And, I like that they offer yogurt, not just ice cream. :)

OH man I had AP Biology with Mr. Louder too! He was soooo easy for Chemistry I just assumed...but I got my butt kicked! Thank goodness I at least got credit for college biology even though I failed the AP test...not even a little bit - if there was a zero they would have given it to me!

That ice cream place is not even fair. I'm not sure we can even be friends anymore.

Alright, I'm over it. But only because you downed a bag of broccoli in oh-so-few days, which makes me feel better about my eating an entire jar of salsa in two. My mom may/may not be convinced she left it with the cashier and that it never made its way to my mouth.

I didn't realize until half-way through my day today that I have Monday off, and it was basically the best thing to happen to me in 2011 so far. :)

You crack me up on a daily basis! I started laughing just reading the title of this one!

-YES! My 3-day weekend started about an hour ago!

-Never. My hair is too short.

-I will eat avocado with anything. Shoot, I've even been known to eat them with nothing. Just cut them in half and eat them with a spoon right out of their rind.

Your dream is totally attainable for you! Isn't that only like 13 minutes faster than your last marathon? You don't even need to get 30 seconds faster per mile. You're going to do amazing things, I'm telling you!
That ice cream is really cool! I'm not very good at math/science, my brain doesn't think like that. Yes, I have a three day weekend! I'm happy about it ;) Enjoy yours and rock that long run!

I agree with the many others -- your dream is definitely going to be a reality. I'm willing to wager it will happen within 2 years.

Wow - that ice cream place sounds cool! And it looked delicious and smooth - I love soft serve!!

I am always off on Mondays (I know, I'm spoiled) but my hubby is off for MLK day - yay! - so I'm having a guy's video game day for him for his 30th bday! I'm excited!

My worst grade was in history...yuck! I hated it. I still know nothing from history. It's sad.

Ponytail - I wear my hair down for work and church...other than that, it's in a ponytail 99.9% of the time. I always wonder why I bother to have long hair if I wear it in a ponytail every day? Oh yeah, so I can put it up in a pony tail - that's why! :)

Ponytails--oh gosh. I try to limit it to twice a week during work, but then it is up in a pony all weekend!
