Big Spenders

Workout Friday morning:

30 Minutes Stair Climber

20 Minutes Spin.....it was the most boring spin class, I knew I could get a better workout doing my own thing and I was going crazy so I just left.

40 Minutes Elliptical

Fridays are early out days at school so according to my weekly biological clock that meant it was nap time after school.  It felt good.

Tonights date night was sponsored by Mom and Dad Anderson and Runeatrepeat

I won a giftcard to Subway from Monica over at Runeatrepeat and we decided that it was classy to go to Subway for our fancy Friday night date, I got all dressed up.

Let me tell you, Subway at 7:30 P.M. on a Friday night is the place to be, there were some cool cats.

Those jalapenos were crazy hot and burned all the way down my throat, I hate that I like that so much.

Following my 48 grams of fiber veggie foot-long with extra veggies plus a side of more extra veggies (the Subway lady was annoyed with me) I called my Madre to see what they were up to.

Golden Spoon.  Need I say more.  We were there in ten minutes.

IMG_2522.JPG

If you have been reading my blog for a while you know my philosophy about dessert....go big or go home.  I would rather skip the cheese and french fries or eat ridiculous amounts of veggies all day than skimp on my beloved desserts.

Chocolate malt and cake batter with snow caps.

Being a teacher, I am considering getting a summer job at a yogurt shop.  I really want to learn how to get that perfect soft serve swirl down.  It takes talent and good form to get it that beautiful.

IMG_2528.JPG

Don't mind the nap hair and make-up.  And don't mind the fact that my yogurt is the size of my head and bigger than Billy's.  It is hard work to get this hungryrunnergirl full.

We finished the night off watching our favorite shows on hulu, we are too cheap for cable.

Tonights date total= $0.00

Are you a fan of jalepenos?  What about spicy foods?

-Before Billy I hated spicy foods.  Now I dump jalapenos, tabasco and tapitio on everything like it is candy.

Ever been to Golden Spoon?

Vote on the yogurt flavor.....

Chocolate Malt, Cake Batter or Pumpkin (that is what Billy got).

I fully support your dessert attitude. No excuses, eat like a champion! I'm a fan of the cake batter, myself.

I wish I liked spicy foods... right now I stick to ketchup as my topping of choice (unless it's ice cream or fro yo..then i bust out those sprinkles like a self-proclaimed addict haha)

Pumpkin sounds good!

I love online TV! No commercials :)

I actually worked at an ice cream shop the summer before I student taught! That perfect swirl is tricky, but I like to think I nailed it! :)

I'm not a fan of jalapenos, but I do like some heat on my food. I'm a big fan of sriracha sauce.

As for yogurt, I'd say chocolate malt from December-August, but pumpkin in September and October.

Happy Saturday! :)

I love spicy foods. My boyfriend always makes meals super spicy, so I've learned to take the heat. Plus, the best foods are spicy, curries?!

I'm a sissy when it comes to spicy food. I never would have been able to eat that sandwich. But, the ice cream I could eat all day everyday. Go big or go home..I like it! Sounds like a pretty fab Friday night to me!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE jalepenos. They are awesome - but the ones that are usually sitting in oil make my stomach hurt... but, I usually just forge through it.

You know what I do when I hit the yogurt shop? (I'm a tightwad, just so you're aware) I sneak toppings in my purse, and dump them on top when I sit outside :) Then my dessert magically turns TWICE the size...for free!

I share the exact same dessert philosophy! I just don't get why some people don't save room for dessert - it's so important!! Hehe.

I love jalapenos like you have on your sammy - yum!

I love spicy foods - I make myself cry, too with jalapenos and sriracha. I used to be obsessed with (addicted to?) frozen yogurt...but only self-serve. Control issues. :) The first time I went with Billy when we'd just started dating, I went to town filling my cup with yogurt and he just sampled a few flavors. I asked him if he was getting any and he said, "I'll just have some of yours." Apparently I gave him a horrified look and he never asked to share my froyo again.

Ha! I worked at Dairy Queen in high school. The swirl is not so hard - I know I could still do the little DQ swirl on the top.

No Golden Spoon here, but it looks yummy!

I don't like things that are really spicy, but since I live in Mexico I am getting more and more used to it. STILL can't eat our cook's homemade salsa, though. YIKES.

My college had a yogurt machine and I mastered the art of the chocolate/vanilla swirl in a cake cone. Best. dessert. ever... though I've come to enjoy chocolate and pumpkin swirled this fall as well.
