Klutz of the Year

Got out of my car in the gym parking lot at 5:30 A.M. and fell hard on the ice.  My iphone was in my hand and I landed right on it.....cracked screen.

Billy wins husband of the year....he didn't even get mad at me even though he loves electronics more than I love candy.  Okay, that's a lie.

I have a huge bruise on my behind.  I took a picture of it and was going to post it but Billy said that was one thing I probably shouldn't share with you guys.  I go a little too far sometimes.

So what does one do when they have had a less than stellar day??

Make your drivers ed students drive you to Mickey D's for an ice cream cone.

IMG_0641.jpg

Feel free to send me some lotion, it is needed.

Other eats today are the usual oatmeal with diced apples cooked into the oatmeal, a bucket of steamed broccoli and carrots and a salad with tomatoes, cucumber, cauliflower and another apple on the side.

Workout:

45 Minutes-Spin taught by my most favorite spin instructor

20 Minutes-Upper body workout

I usually go to my beloved pump class on Wednesdays but I am thinking that the hundreds of squats/lunges do not help the knee issue.  I will cut out whatever it takes to get back running.

See you after spin tonight.

How often do you damage your phone....whether it is dropping it, getting water on it, falling on it, losing it?  I need you to make me feel like I am not alone.

-With my old phone it was a daily occurrence to drop it.  One time my phone even ended up in the toilet, it was awkward.  I have gotten a lot better and I have a heavy duty case but I still manage to hurt my poor little friend.

Aw Janae!

Somehow, McDonalds has really good ice cream. What's up with that?

On a totally different note... I am headed to the gym and I am going to try and be like you and do 30 minutes on the stair stepper. 15 minutes is my record. Ha! I'll let you know how it goes. ;)

I am actually really good with phones. I have washed one or two in the washing machine, but that's it ;)

I've lost each phone that I've had! Also, I just got a new phone and despite my best intentions, it's looking quite scratched.

Awww... I just posted about my clumsy ways, too!

I hope you feel better. I've hurt the rear before (and actually cracked the tailbone)- NO FUN!

I haven't has so many issues with the phone as I have my cameras. I'm that girl who drops it at the bar every other weekend. Insuring such things would be in my best interest.

Shizzzznit... I fell the winter before last, flat on by back/arse carrying a 50 pound object. It sucked big time- and is an occupational hazard for me (no fun!) So I feel bad for you- and can relate to the clumsy gene since I trip over my own feet, fall down flights of stairs and topple over randomly on the regular. BLURG.

Crap. My profile pic now shows my crotch/mid section. I might have to try to fix that (or not, it's kinda amusing to me.)

So, what is your running news that you are going to announce?! :) ha ha, I keep finding myself wondering if you've announced it yet. Sorry about your phone...that stinks.

My last phone bit the dust when my cat swatted it off my desk onto the hard wood floor. I got the white screen of death... and it never came back. Luckily I was up for a free renewal.

Sorry about your @ss and your phone! That sucks! Glad you're not more injured. I'd take some tylenol before you go to bed tonight because you're going to wake up SORE!

Once after Thanksgiving break I was headed back to school and discovered that my little brothers had sweetly surprised me with a handful of Hershey's kisses in my purse..except they melted into my phone and I could no longer charge it!

I drop my phone regularly. Once it fell in the toilet. Note to self: don't out it in the pants back pocket. Ever. for any reason.

So...hundreds of squats and lunges aren't helping? :/ ugh. Can you use resistance bands - or is that bad too? Just curious- and maybe you already said this- but what is the diagnosis? Is it tendon, cartilage, muscle?

Hope your face is feeling better!

Hope your bum is ok. I have fallen many times on the ice and it is not fun. Sorry about your iPhone screen. I just got an iphone about a month ago and I am super protective of it.

I too have cracked my iphone (fortunately it still works), and I dropped my old black cherry chocolate in the toilet... twice (it worked after the first drop, but went dead after the second one)

While I manage to keep my phone working beyond my "New Every Two" (still rockin' my Motorola Razr from April 2008)... I can tell you I have fallen on butt thanks to ice more than once. And also not due to ice, but due to my own clumsiness. One time, a week before my first half marathon, I fell flat on my face when I made the brilliant decision to jump over a chain that was knee high, 8 miles into my run, because I didn't pick up my second foot high enough! I then had limped/ran the 1.5 miles home with a bloodied elbow and knee. It was awesome. :)

PS, the reason my knee/elbow were bloody is because I fell on gravel.

i cracked my iphone screen last week when i dropped it (for the 100th time). sad times. but it still works, so i'm trying to hold out on buying a new one until february to avoid a (lame!) upgrade fee of $200. stupid at&t.

I dropped my iphone at work and the screen shattered (spider webbed). I ended up not having insurance for it and had to pay more than the phone cost to fix it. After I fixed it I purchased two different cases to be used at one time. To this day I drop my phone all the time but have yet to break it.... which reminds me that I need to be more careful. I always drop it when I get out of the car (I forget it's in my lap or seat). Sorry to hear that your phone is broken and hope you have insurance to help cover the cost to fix it.

SAD!!! I am so sorry to hear about the fall!! I hate falling! That stinks about your phone... BUT I love how upbeat you are NO MATTER WHAT! You ROCK!! How is your knee?

Never! I never drop it, cos I hardly ever use it. Sad, I know, but I have a phone for emergencies......

My phone is tucked away somewhere, and I think I've used it all of one time! But I am klutzy! I have matching knee scars and I once ran into a pay phone! =D

I am usually pretty good with my phone, but I have cracked one screen on New Years Eve and dropped one in my aunts pool. Some how both still worked! Ice cream will fix anything!

I'm a true mommy…I'm more worried about your bruised booty. While I have the opposite issue with phones (mine NEVER die…I've had one for 6 years, the 2nd for over 4 years and my 3rd I got in September), I do seem to fall on ice, bruise my behind and take pictures of it to post on my blog! My bruise was there for 3 weeks. Take care of yourself!

I've dropped a phone down a garbage chute before - and saved it. You can imagine the story that accompanies that.

Ok - so I was at the gym, I was running late to get home, my husband was with the kids and had to get to work, couldn't cut my workout short of course, went to leave the gym, thought it best to sprint to my car to make up time, ipod popped out of my pocket in front of me and I ran right on top of it with my big foot. Destroyed. Oh and I guess the time I left my husband's new ipod in my running pants pocket and washed them with the ipod still in them... hmmm... i really should be more careful.

oh so sorry! My Billy is patient and rational, too. My iPhone was in my back jeans pocket and when I went to the bathroom, it fell in the toilet. The home button stopped working and it wouldn't charge. $125 and a trip to a sketchy phone repair and I was back in business. :)

I've had my phone over 4 years now with no major drops... my better half, however, has lost two blackberrys to the kitchen sink (talkin' while doin' dishes). Disaster!

I just got a new phone today and I have been being super careful with it. I want to keep this one pretty and perfect.....not like all my other phones that go the way of your iphone :p

I'm like Natalia. Never damaged it because I sometimes don't even use it for a week or more. I keep mine in my laptop bag. People know I never take incoming calls on it. Before cellphones they couldn't reach me anywhere so why must they now?

This is why I just have a little Nokia phone. Sometimes, it's inconvenient not having all the bells of whistles, but they're so resilient and very inexpensive to replace when they finally do have enough and die (like mine did a few weeks ago!) I killed my only non-Nokia (a little Samsung) by dropping it in to my coffee (on my last day of student teaching, too!), and that's the only one I've had that didn't die of old age.
And I totally would make my students drive me to get ice cream after that, too! :)

I am deathly afraid of dropping my iphone, like I fear that more than getting hit by a car...maybe. I used to drop my old phones all the time, and it never phased them, they never broke, just a few scratches, but I have been so careful since I got my iphone last Christmas, it is kind of rediculous how in love with it I am!

I dropped my iPhone straight on its screen too.. Shattered.. I was very heart broken. Especially since i didnt want to fork over the 250.00 bucks to get a 4G.. But i did.. We cant live without our phones!!

I dropped a phone earlier this year into a crockpot full of liquid as I was saying goodbye to my mom. All she heard was a splash, lol!

Cell phones are poorly made. I think they could be made to be more durable but then you wouldn't have to replace them as often. As you can tell if I'm not misplacing it then I'm breaking it. I've also washed several.
