HungrySwimmerGirl fueled by Terra Mia.

A Tuesday night date night?!?!  We are getting wild and crazy over here and we even got into real clothes, brushed our hair and I went the extra mile and plucked my uni-brow.  I really wanted to impress him.

We were invited to do a food review at Terra Mia and tonight was going to be the night when the magic happened.  You know I would never lie to you guys and you know that I am a little bit obsessed with delicious food so when I tell you that this place is the bomb.com, I am telling you the 100% truth....cross my heart.

IMG 6260

The interior is beautiful. I love all of the natural light, the trees and Billy loves that there was a TV that was playing the Bulls game.

IMG 6244

I completely forgot about our surroundings and fell victim to complete tunnel vision when our food was brought out.  Billy tried asking me how my day was but I asked him to please wait until I had eaten my half of bruschetta (probably my favorite food in the world) until we talked about anything.

Crusty on the outside, doughy on the inside with the right blend of spices, tomatoes and olive oil.  The owner is originally from Italy and so I am pretty sure this is as authentic as it gets in the US.  PS the staff is my favorite.  So friendly and I pretty much want to be best friends with them.

IMG 6249

I chose the 'Contandina' which was a margherita pizza with mushrooms, eggplant (not olives, even though it looks like they are), peppers and artichoke.  I was risky with this one (I have never had eggplant....I was a deprived child) and loved every bite.   It tasted so fresh, the crust was thin and the mozzarella cheese is made daily in the restaurant.  Doesn't get better than that folks.

IMG 6246

I think I loved it a little more than a human should.  Swimming makes me hungry and carbs make me happy and cheese makes my eyes bulge out of their sockets.  Scroll through the picture quickly and don't you dare count how many chins I have.

IMG 6254

Billy chose 'That's Amore' which is a Margherita pizza with sausage, smoked bacon and italian salami.  He described it as "I now understand your undying love for this place and we can eat here every night for the rest of our life."

IMG 6247

Um, please have a moment of silence for the gelato that I am about to display to you.  We were too full last night (I know that is hard to believe) but I have had it many times before and it is to die for.

IMG 6255

This is true happiness in this photo.  It doesn't get better than two pizzas and bruschetta within arms reach.  I don't know why I decided to stand up for the picture but I think it was because the b-dawgity dawg was looking mighty fine and I needed an excuse to get closer.

IMG 6251

I was going to branch out and try one of their salads, pasta, calzones or sandwich items but I couldn't leave my beloved pizza.  I do have to say that everything that passed by our eyes looked phenominal and next time I will just have to get the pizza with a side of pasta and make Billy order the salad (and naturally I would eat half of his food).

and the best news is...............

Terra Mia is hosting a blogger/reader/runner/foodie get together.  It will be held on June 4th (a Saturday) @ 1 p.m.  PRETTY PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU ARE COMING so that I can put together some goodie bags and let the restaurant know how many people are coming.  I WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU GUYS and I know we would become instant best friends!!!! Email me @ janaejacobs22@gmail.com  They will also be giving us a discount wahoo!!!!

You can read about our past Terra Mia experiences herehere and here.......   maybe, you should eat breakfast first because the pics will make you want to spend your life savings to fly to Utah and come to our blogger meet-up

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is there a semi-common food that you haven't tried until recently?  Did you love it/hate it?

-Eggplant.  LOVED IT!!! What else do people eat eggplant with...help me out:)

Can you come play with us on June 4th?!?!?!

Random question of the day.....What do you use your phone for the most?

-Lately WORDS WITH FRIENDS and stalking blogs is always the top of my list (I actually go over my data usage because I am looking at blogs so much).

Any fun Memorial Day plans?!?!

-We have a fun little getaway planned wahooooo!!!!  Don't worry, I will still be blogging. I am addicted to you and you can't get rid of me even if you wanted to!

I want to go to your meetup! Maybe if I start driving now, I could be there by then!

I'm wearing the same shoes as you right now! I feel so famous lol.

I use my phone the most for email and texting. I rarely talk on it, especially since now it just randomly hangs up on people and I don't have an upgrade until next year.

ah that meet up sounds so fun, I wish i lived closer! as for a food? hmmm well I did try fiddleheads for the first time last night! Not a common food at all, but it's one of the only foods I hadn't tried before. And on my phone I pretty much only text and call, but I just got a new one that can surf the web and I do feel pretty techy with it!

Your pizza looks rockin'! I want a bite.

I recently just started eating celery more. I used to have this aversion to celery but now I just love love love it in salads!

I use my phone for texting all the time. I have an I-phone and have maybe like 3 apps total on it. Everyone makes fun of me for that :(

I wish I could go to your meet up but I'm a little far away in NY!.

Memorial Day = my college friends from FL visiting me in NYC. That means plenty of NYC adventures and eating too much food, yay!

I just started eating asparagus and I LOVE it! I just bake it in the oven with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper and it is scrumptious!

I wish I could come play on June 4th! If I magically find a ticket to Utah, you will be the first person I come visit!

I use my phone more for texting and checking e-mail than I do for calling people. I don't even know if anyone makes phone calls anymore!

We don't have Memorial day, but we just had Victoria Day long weekend. Spent it eating with family (my fave thing to do) and then tending to my food-poisoned boyfriend. How fun.

Janae,

I meant to comment on the related post that when I once watched a video you posted about your makeup routine, I totally thought you reminded me of Amanda Bynes (but you are way cuter even!)! For me, it was more 'in person' (ie a video) that made me think that, rather than just pics...

I tried medjool dates a few months ago and liked them...I have made a lot of 'raw cookies' using them and nuts as a base.

I am from Canada so we had our long weekend this past weekend...we took our almost 3 year old camping for the first time and it was aws!

I lovee eggplant...I eat practically everything, but a new-common food I tried recently was Lentils - I made a Lentil Loaf (kind of like meat loaf, but not) - I loved it and it is filling, for like more than only 30 minutes :)

I am in Boston - so really can't make it, but the pizza looks phenom!

Memorial Day plans - Figawi boat race in Hyannis, MA - huge event out here and should be great weather, great friends and great times!

I loooove eggplant and I just planted one in my community garden plot!! yay for fresh (free) food. I love making eggplant parmesan and eggplant sandwiches. On ciabatta bread I smear hummus, roasted red pepper, sliced zucchini and eggplant and it is DELICIOUS! Sometimes I put veggie cream cheese on one side of the bread too. It's so good.

I wish I could come to the blogger meet-up. I need to stalk more blogs and find people in Portland that I can do that kind of thing with!!

I have never liked ham until now! My older sister doesn't like it so growing up I wanted to be like her, therefore I didn't like it! I had it a few weeks ago, sqaw bread with mayo ham and feta melted under the broiler... Delicious! I love ham!

Yes, yes, yes I can play on June 4th! Count me in... I can't wait! I love thin crust pizza!

I use my phone mainly for taking pics of my daughter and texting!

My hubby, daughter and I are headed to St George for memorial day weekend! Can't wait!

As for eggplant you can buy 1 at the store, slice it into about 1/2 inch slices and then bread them in breadcrumbs. Then bake them in the oven on 350 fit apprix 20min then pour spaghetti sauce over them and top with mozzarella cheese and pop back in the oven until cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbly. Top with parmesan cheese. It's called eggplant parmesan. Enjoy!

eggplant works with everything!! seriously, how have you not had it before? as a vegetarian, it's a staple in my diet. and it's SO DELICIOUS. especially if you combine it with feta or something? yum yum. I like to roast it and eat it with anything else you would put roasted veggies with (i.e. any and everything). explore eggplant! it's amazing! and ummm I hadn't tried tomato soup until I was 21 (I'm 25). it's been a magical four years since I discovered it.
