Day Date

First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR SWEET words about me coming back into the running world.  I have missed it so much and the one mile this morning has left me on cloud nine all day.

Second, DON'T FORGET UTAHNS, that we are going to TERRA MIA on Saturday @ 1.  Email me @ janaejacobs22@gmail.com if you need directions, if you can come or you want more information.  EVERYONE IS INVITED!!! I want to be real life best friends!!!

Third, you guys rock.  You make me feel special.  You guys are my idols.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What better way to celebrate the fact that my femurs are ready to RUN than to spend a girls date with my niece?!?!

We started off the date with lunch at G-ma's.  I had a crazy awesome salad (my rule for salads is to throw whatever produce you have into a bowl and call it delicious and add some protein).  Orange, snap peas, chicken breasts, taboule and some cheese.

IMG 6387

She wanted a chimichunga.  We kind of look like sisters, don't ya think?

IMG 6388

Then it was off to Pirate's Island. 10 dollars later and she won enough tickets to buy 7 tootsie rolls, the little ones.  Billy, I think we need to open up one of these places....they make bank.

My niece is in the purse phase now and won't go anywhere without it.

IMG 6389

After the games we went to the jewelry store in the mall.  I told her to pick out whatever she wanted.  She picked out Best Friend necklaces that connect.  I melted and put her as the main beneficiary in my will.

IMG 6393

After the mall we robot danced to Gwen Stefani on the way to......

IMG 6394

You guessed it...YOGURTLAND.

IMG 6397

I think it was a pretty successful date.  I clearly had to refuel with all of those marshmellows after my full long run of one mile this morning.  Okay, I also did a pump class and an hour on the elliptical.  Summer time= playing with billy/family, working out and lots of ice cream.

Next post is about how in the world I am going to control myself to not run more or faster than I should......I think I might need your help because I am already itching to run again today and I am not supposed to until Thursday.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you picky about your salads or do you like to try different things and mix lots of different things together?

What fruit are you loving right now?

-Oranges!!!

What was your Tuesday workout?

I know that you swim but have you tried pool running? I haven't, but I've heard it's the best when you're injured and really want to run.

That salad looks yummy! Love the picture of your niece with her purse- that is so cute!

I am more of a veggie person than a fruit person, except for blackberries and oranges- I could just eat those 2 forever and be happy.

I didn't do a workout today per se, but yard work and cleaning the chicken coop out count, right?

I'm picky about my foods mixing, so I have a pretty standard salad recipe. Spinach, feta, craisins, walnuts, mandarin oranges, some kind of protein, and raspberry dressing. So good!

Just ran 4 miles on the treadmill in speed intervals. Tomorrow it is boot camp at 6:30am. I'm kind of addicted to it.

You are the best salad maker - ever. I know what you mean about the running fever. I twisted my ankle on Friday and today is the first real day it feels normal. The swelling is down, and I can twist my foot around. I've been resting it since (I even had to hold out from a traditional 5K we run every Memorial Day. I had to leave my running shorts at home to not be tempted to jump in. I was depressed all day) But I'm itching to run today - so baddd..but the Half Marathon is Saturday and I need to be 100%. What do I do!? I know it doesn't matter - because I'd run it broken ankle or not!

That little girl better be in your will, precious! My workout consisted of a 2-mile fast-as-you-can run, 30 minute bike and 30 minute lift! The gym was incredibly muggy today so I sweat like a maniac.

I freaking love your neices. Yup, I'm keeping the spelling alive.
My neice is my soul mate, but you may have two.
So cool that she got the "alone" treatment.
Anywhoo...an you run in the pool? That is some serious bizness and it might keep your "runninghungerpangs" at bay.

My new fav is Pineapple, grilled :) Tuesday workout consisted of a 45 minute walk with the puppy and around 100 crunches..my legs were to sore and stiff from yesterdays run to do any other type of activity. Yeah for your 1 mile, it is all up hill from here!!

LOVE the pic of your niece robot dancing, she looks like you! Congrats on running again! You should follow a training plan. I am using run less run faster and it is pretty awesome. Hard workouts but you don't get injured and the paces are there for you. For 1/2 and 10k it's about 20-25 miles a week. Totally doable and still improve! I think it's helping me and that's all that matters! Find something you will stick with or get a full time running coach/running buddy to keep you in check.

SO SO SO SO happy for you that you can run again! Yay! I'm sure it will be frustrating not to be able to do the pace or distance you are used to right away but you are on your way! Your niece is adorable. I just bought my first cherries of the season, my first fruit love. I also have an amazing mango in my fridge. I had a rest day because I am running my first 50K this saturday....AHHHH!!!

My kids would love you for an aunt!! That lucky girl :) I was guessing there would be yogurt in your day to celebrate! Yay!!!

So my "workout" today was a scheduled rest day. Not easy for me to do but its part of my recovery. Frayed Laces' blog put it so well when she was healing from her sfx....paraphrasing "recovery has to be taken as seriously as training". So you can do this Janae- tomorrow's non-running workout is IMPORTANT! I'm your example of too much too soon and re-injuring- its not worth it!

Just keep the long term in mind and enjoy the endorphins! So excited for you!!

everything you eat/make looks like it should be from a photoshoot! haha. looks like you guys had an awesome date, and i love all those arcade places that give you tickets. it's weird how winning those measly prizes makes me so excited when i could have just bought the blasted things at the 99 cent store! :)

and again so happy for your first run, but like you said, don't do too much too fast. i've been there though and it's hard not to just do more. to stop myself i just think that a couple minutes of gratification now could leave me too injured to run at all for waaaay longer. not worth it. :) so stay strong girl!

my workout today was also a run on the treaddy.

Welcome back to the running world! I just came back after 4 months. I have to do a run/walk for the first 4 weeks then do whatever I want from there. The weather is finally nice in Illinois and I am itching to run more, but 3X a week will have to do until this knee is strong again. I ran/walk 2 miles yesterday in 23:55, and hope to do that (or better) again tomorrow. Next week I get to increase to 3 miles and 6 minutes of straight running!! WOO!!

I am absolutely OVER THE MOON for you!!! This is just wonderful news :)

No Tuesday workout for me. Body (and brain) was screaming for a break so I had a super relaxed day and then took my mum out for a hot girl date at a fancy restaurant! Fried gnocchi, cheese platter, fantastic bread, green beans fried in BUTTER AND ANCHOVIES AND GARLIC AND ALMONDS, caramelised apple tart with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream... oh gosh. Digesting all that was a workout in itself ;)

I am an apple freak forever and ever. But lately i've been craving bananas which SUCKS because they're crazy expensive here at the moment - like $13/kilogram!!! >_< i miss my PB & banana sandwiches so much.

i have been obsessed lately with using salsa verde as salad dressing - with any and all produce i have on hand - especially red peppers. sometimes i accidentally eat the whole red pepper while deciding what else to put on my salad - oops.

What fruit are you loving right now?
-I don't even know that I can pick just one! I guess if I have to-strawberries!

What was your Tuesday workout?

I'm pretty picky about my salads. I'm not a huge fan of fruit on them, but I do enjoy some mandarin oranges now and then.

My favorite fruit right now is mangoes, or watermelon, or strawberries. There are so many yummy fruits this time of year I can't pick.

My Tuesday workout was chasing two dogs around the house trying to keep them from destroying everything. That's a workout, right?

I love fruit so much, but right now my favorite is mango!

On Tuesday I did my Insanity workout (plyometric cardio circuit) - love it! I also taught an extremely high intensity zumba class.

Congratulations again on getting back in the running world! I cannot tell you how excited I am for you!

Your day date w/your niece sounded fabulous. I love girls days with my daughter (I have one daughter and 4 sons), they are so much fun!

Salads- I am a bit picky in my dressings but not my toppings...I don't like sweet vinaigrettes

Fruit-hmm, pineapple, yummy!

My Tuesday work-out was a track workout with the coach the my company provides us and we did 4x400's at 7:40 pace followed by one mile at threshhold pace and then repeat the 4x400's. It felt great and I am learning to pace! Then when I got home from work I did a quick easy 2 miles with my old roomate around the neighborhood, mainly so we could chit-chat.

PS. That salad looks a-maz-ing. I have started eating peaches lately and they are SO GOOD.
