Spring Break Day 1 and a Running Update.

I think we have a problem.  I got up this morning to use the bathroom and when I came back to bed I had been replaced.  I found Billy cuddling with my ipad.  I had to rip it out of his hands in order for me to take it to the gym with me.  90 minutes on the elliptical FLEW by because Billy downloaded 30 running/health magazines onto the ipad and I was able to read through 2 Running Times magazines.  Heaven.

IMG 5270

After the gym (PS It is my Spring Break WAHOO) I vacuumed my car (I am obsessed with cleaning my car...now if only that rubbed off onto cleaning my house too) and threw on some clothes to meet up with my bff's (Megan and Ashley) at our favorite restaurant.  The Pizza Factory.

IMG 5272

We ALWAYS get the salad bar and see how high we can pile our salads onto those little plates.  I might need to help Ash out next time to get my usual 10 lbs of salad onto her plate.  It takes a lot of practice to be able to produce a mountain of produce that everyone looks at me like a crazy person as I walk by.

IMG 5271

The CUTEST SWEETEST ASHLEY made me feel like it was my birthday with a goodie bag with all of the supplies I will need for my trip to Boston. There is everything from amazing music, headbands, candy, an awesome book, chomps and goldfish. Thank you Ash!!  It may or may not have brought tears to my eyes:)  I really can say I have met the most AMAZING people through blogging and some of my BEST FRIENDS!!!

IMG 5273

Don't tell billy but I may have cut the portion of the bag that says........

IMG 5274

IMG 5275

Now I am just sitting on the couch watching 'Make It or Break It' (an ABC Family show that is on Netflix) and eating Swedish Fish while I wait for Billy to get home so we can go to physical therapy together (he is having a lot of problems with his IT band).

Running Update.  To be completely honest I really don't know if I will be able to run Boston.  I am still limping and my leg does not feel good after doing some miles on it last week.  I have an appointment with my orthopedic doctor tomorrow and I am going to do whatever he says (I really trust him, he is BYU's b-ball team doctor and really knows his stuff).

We are going to do a bone density scan to see if there is some sort of fracture because it should not take 5 weeks for a muscle strain to heal.  If he gives me the go ahead to walk/run I will cry tears of joy but if he says no.......then I gotta listen to him and I will be the BEST DARN CHEERLEADER Boston has ever seen.  I really have learned a lot about myself and running during this time.  Life can't be perfect and I am realizing that running isn't everything but as soon as I am running again like normal I will be more grateful for it than ever:)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Where is your favorite place to go for a lunch date?

-Pizza Factory...there salad bar and bread twists were made for me.

Do you wear headbands while you run?

-I only have one bondi band but thanks to Ash I can't wait to try out my new ones!!

Do you like to keep your car clean?

-Half of my life is in my car but I HATE it when there is trash and when it needs to be vacuumed.

It must be hard to think you may not be able to do Boston, but I love how positive you are about the situation! You will run Boston one day!
At the half marathon in town this Saturday, they gave out whole bags of swedish fish to runners! All the extras were in my internship office this morning.

LOVE YOU IN THAT AC/DC SHIRT!!!!! A woman after my own heart... <3

I really hope your ortho gives you good news. It makes me sad to think of you not running Boston.

I've become a HUGE fan of Sweaty Bands (and their non name brand knockoffs, specifically the one Tonia @ Racing With Babes makes).

I could really learn a thing or two from you in the car cleaning department! I've had my Tahoe since last fall and haven't cleaned it since. lol I keep my house very clean but my car? Not so much!

HA I love that you cut that out of the Swedish Fish packet!! Genius:)

Girl, I LOVE and ADMIRE your positivity SO much!! Proverbs 17:22 'A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.' And your joyful heart is SO beautiful, and that good medicine will heal up that leg of yours:)

I am watching make it or break it too! I love the watch instantly on Netfix!

I wear the ultra thing goody or scuncci headbands that are in fun colors. I love how uber thin they are and they have the plastic backing so they don't slip!

How fun that you met up for lunch. I am full of jealousy. I absolutely LOVE Pizza factory. Best place on earth next to the beach in my opinion.

I am loving your attitude girl. You are amazing! Like seriously you inspire me to be a better person.

I am opposite of you. House is always clean and the car hasn't seen a vaccum since my parents owned it. poor car.

Pizza Factory is so darn good. I love their windy breadsticks..where they stand up, that's the place right? I used to live in South. UT...

Good for you for being in a place where you'll be ok if you can't run Boston, though I'm sure it kills you knowing how far you'd gone to get there.

Oh and I'm a major clean car person. I can't stand anything in there that absolutely doesn't need to be there. Mine is spic and span.

I hope you can do Boston, but I hope more that you'll be better and if that means you can't run than Boston thats ok. I love going out to eat for lunch it is such a special treat. My favorite place is where I used to live in WIlliamsburg, VA called the Cheese Shop. I never wear a headband because I have the smallest head ever and super fine hair so not even no slip grip headbands stay on this head. I hate to clean my car and its obvious!

I love Stevie b's it's a pizza buffet the salad bar is awesome and I can eat like 10 pieces of pizza, for lunch.
I try to wear headbands but they always slip off, my head is really big and I have cheap headbands.
And...
My car is soooo dirty I can not keep it clean to save my life! But my house is pretty clean so I guess its a good trade off!
Good luck at the dr appt, I hope you hear good news!

And I sure hope you get great news today. Do you go to Dr. Pratte? That's my dr and I'm pretty sure he is one of the doctors on BYU something...

You are awesome and if you don't get to run - at least find a frozen yogurt place in Boston to drown your sorrows after the marathon!!!

I wish I could wear headbands! I have tried so many times but they always pop off my head at inopportune moments and slingshot away from me. It can definitely be awkward!

I LOVE Make it Or Break It! I discovered it on Netflix and may or may not have watched the entire series over a weekend :)

I know how difficult it can be to maintain a positive attitude during injury so just hang in there and remember that this is NOT your last season running, nor your last chance at Boston because you are an AMAZING super FAST speedy ROCK STAR runner who will kick it for the rest of your life. If Boston doesn't happen for you this year, it definitely will again some time soon.
I will be in the crowds cheering either FOR you or WITH you in 1 week!

You don't know me and I've never commented on your blog before (though I did send you a quick email to thank you for providing me with constant good reads since I found your blog a couple weeks ago) but I just have to agree with everyone here that your positivity is amazing. As much as it stinks, I think it's when things don't go according to plan that we learn the most (why does it have to be that way?).

Speaking of tiny salad bar plates...we were down in Provo last week taking my little bro (who goes to BYU) to dinner for his b-day at Brick Oven and MAN those plates are minuscule! I can't remember if the Pizza Factory ones are the same size (sadly haven't been there in ages) but it was ridiculous how many times I had to go back and forth just to get my normal salad fix.

The idea of you not being able to do Boston is enough to make me want to cry but you have the right attitude about it. Boston will still be there next year, so even if you can't get your sub 2 there or you have to watch the race this time, you'll still be able to do it eventually. Just another year to kick booty in other races! I wish I could hug you though because I know you're putting on the positive face for your blog readers, but you must be having a hard time with it. I cried when I had to miss a five mile race because I was sick!

I think hats are the best for running, but I only just figured it out when I did my first half marathon in one. I need to do it more often, it solved all of my hair problems. I almost lost it once due to the wind, but a woman behind me caught it and ran it up to me! ...Which was good because I was on a hill and I was SO POOPED that I was NOT gonna turn around to get it! I finally wrote my race report if you have a chance to read it. :)

Keeping my fingers crossed for you! Its amazing what running teaches you, even when your not doing it! I'm so jealous of your ipad <3 Favorite place for lunch... Flour here in Boston- YOU MUST GO while your here and get a homemade oreo!!!

No to headbands, I think my head is improperly sized for them :( and I don't have a car since living in Boston, but I've been known to clean my bike with Chlorox wipes :)

Such a great attitude! I know how much you have been looking forward to Boston, and I was really worried that you would try to run injured, or you would be devastated not to be able to run. But of course, you are a total rock star!

Hope there is an answer/relief for your leg soon!

I love your attitude about Boston. There will be other marathons, but you only have one set of legs.

I dont run in headbands, or hats. I don't like having anything on my head while i run.

You are an inspiration. You have a great attitude and I'm totally impressed :) Rock on girl. I really hope you can still run, but if you can't I know you'll be the loudest, most enthusiastic spectator out there! Here's to thinking positive, healing thoughts!

My fingers are crossed that you'll be able to run. If you're cheering, let me know and I'll send you my bib number and finally commit to a shirt color and share that too and maybe you'll see me. I'm insanely nervous. I'd rather you run than cheer, but you're right to listen to the pros.

girl, you're amazing. even if you can't run Boston, you'll have a super fun trip, I promise. The city is already starting to buzz with pre-marathon fun, and even for non-runners, the whole weekend is great! :D

The same exact thing happened to me. They kept telling me "it's just a pull." After 8 weeks, they sent me for MRI and, boom, stress fracture. My fingers are crossed that you have a better fate than me. Good luck! You're incredible.

Your attitude about all of this continues to amaze me, and I know you will learn from all of this! Even if you can't run, the fact that you still want to go and cheer others on is pretty incredible. As you have said before, there are SO many Boston's in your future! Thinking of you and hope everything goes well when you see your doctor!

I think you are playing it smart! This must be super hard for you but try to continue to keep a positive attitude! I do wear headbands when I run sometimes but starting today I will have to wear them more because I am cutting my hair! Woohoo!!!

The good thing about Boston is that it will be there again next year. And the year after that. You are going to rock it one of these days. So if that day isn't next week, it will be there sometime in the future. The sooner you figure out exactly what is going on, the sooner you will be back out there counting people as you pass by them :)

I'm really not picky about where I go for lunch dates; no real favorites.

I wear bandanas or sweat bands while I run because anything over a mile and I get sweat dripping down my face into my eyes; not cool!
