Pilates Makes Me Cry

After teaching spin this morning I was on my way out the door when,

this girl walked in.......

IMG 1286

I know you can tell from the picture alone that we are cousins because we look so alike.

She was on her way to take a pilates class and because she is the busiest girl alive and I cherish every second I get to spend with her I followed her right on in.

Little did I know, I was entering H-E-Double Hockey Sticks.

Not even kidding- at times it literally felt like I was getting stabbed in my buttocks and abdomen, my muscles were so fatigued and screaming at me!!

The best part of it.....an amazing workout with absolutely zero pressure on the femur.

I think I might be hooked.

I came home from the gym and we cleaned.  I know that sounds a little out of character but it happened and the cleanliness will probably last all the way until tomorrow afternoon if we are careful.

Next on the list, (where dreams are made) Costco.

We got the usual goods: Tortillas, broc, apples, eggs, chicken, spinach and bananas.

Lunch was made and thoroughly enjoyed.  These tortillas are HIGH in fiber and protein (they are la tortilla factory brand).  Delicious.  The insides were spinach, egg and salsa.  Winning combo.  I don't know if you have noticed yet but I really like eggs.

IMG 5753

After lunch I even did some work.  I graded papers on a weekend.  Summer, I need you know.... at least the snow melted from this morning!

Time to maybe put on real people clothes and spray lots of perfume on myself, wow I am one hour earlier than usual this Saturday with the whole getting out of my gym clothes thing.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever tried pilates? What did you think?

Favorite wrap fillings?

-Eggs, loads of veggies, tuna, cottage cheese, salsa, cheese (I better stop now or else I might have to go back into the kitchen and make a second lunch.

What show are you currently loving?

-I am re-watching Glee season 1 on Netflix and dare I say it is even better the second time around!

I don't think I can ever go into Costco anymore without thinking of you and all the love you have professed for the store!

Oh gee, I was thinking about taking a Pilates class, but now I'm scared. I always had the impression it was just Yoga on steroids. I may need to research this choice some more before taking my first class! ;-)
Have a great weekend!

Love turkey with laughing cow cheese and lettuce with seasoning salt. Yum!
Favorite show is Modern Family, the Middle and the one that is on right around the same time. With the family in NY. They are all soo funny!

I pilates, but I like plates more. It's pilates without "i", get it? I'm a dork.

Oh, also I LOVE eggs, someone said they didn't like eggs the other day and I nearly cried for them. How can a person NOT like eggs? It seems so horribly wrong?

*moment of silence for egg haters*

I've never been to a pilates class, but I have the Windsor Pilates dvds. I haven't done them in a while, but I remember how much they burned and I loved it!

I love wraps! La Tortilla Factory or Joseph's pitas are my favorites, and I fill them with anything and everything at any time of the day.

I am currently watching the NFL draft. One of the guys from my gym is in the draft, and I hope he gets picked! I am also addicted to all shows on Food Network and Cooking Channel, and I love Hawaii Five-0.

Have a blessed Saturday night!

You and your cousin are adorable!

Never tried pilates but heard it is great for your core! I NEVER do ab work because I hate it so much...maybe pilates would be a good way to trick myself into getting some abs.

Asian wraps are my favorite

and

favorite show right now = make it or break it AND 24. Complete opposites, but hey, a girl's gotta get her drama and her action, right?

I'm on season 8 of Friends. I never watched it when it was on TV, but for the past few weeks I've been consumed by it!

Vaugue, I know. It would take 20 minutes to go into more detail!
Mmm. I love wraps. I like tuna. Omlettes. Avacado on a garden burger. steak and cheese. you name it!
I'm about ready to watch the whole Lost series again- LOVE it!

So at first I saw that picture and thought, "JANAE CUT HER HAIR!" And then I read that you saw your cousin at the gym. And then I wondered why you guys looked so cute at the gym. And then I wondered why you guys are sippin on a soda and sitting at a table at the gym. And this is about when I realized I'm an idiot.

I'm watching last night's episode of Friday Night Lights right now. I got hooked watching the first four seasons on Netflix.

I really want to try Pilates. It sounds scary as all get out and awesome!

I had a breakfast burrito this morning that was scrambled eggs (with lots of milk) and monty jack. I like to add veggies sometimes, but we are out. Must get to grocery store immediately!

I love love pilates but I agree-it is hard!! Especially when first starting out. My body so can not bend/move in those ways! But I think it is kinda like yoga-the more you do it, the more flexible you get!

I LOVE wraps and la tortilla ones especially! I like to put eggs in mine too and another favorite is spinach, tofurkey slice (vegetarian here!), pickles and mustard! It is a lunch staple every week!

I watch a lot of TV on my ipod at the gym because I don't have time at home! My favorite shows to watch at the gym have been Degrassi, Numb3rs, and Gossip Girl. I also watch One Tree Hill because I think I am still 18 years old. Pretty soon I am going to start watching House at the gym because I caught an episode a week or so ago and have been HOOKED!

I LOVE pilates! My teacher is not traditional and when I walk out of there I practically have to crawl down the stairs. Plus, I covet her abs.
I like eggs on my wrap. I use O the Ole' brand tortillas from Walmart.
I just downloaded the 1st season of Friends and started rewatching it. I forgot how funny that show was. Favorite current show - The Deadliest Catch.

Love pilates. It totally helped me get back in shape 8 years ago after a c-section. It hurt like a muthu at first though!!!

Love breakfast wraps, (egg whites, cheese, mushrooms, salsa, spinach). Or for lunch, turkey or chicken w/ loads of veggies and little ranch and mustard.

I'm currently still hooked on Real Housewives...every last one of 'em! Sad I know.

I have been doing pilates for 8 or 9 years and if you have a good class it will kick your behind make lots of parts strong. I also did it while I was pregnant with both kiddos. The class at my current gym isnt very good so now I just do it when I need an easy workout/break from running.

I love pilates...I think I might try doing that soon...now to find a good class for it. hmmmmm.

Also, do you have a good spinach shake recipe that does not include strawberries?...I am allergic (i know, very sad). Also, check your email from me when you can...I am in a photography mood and I am getting a new lens that will make action shots amazing! Also again, just so you know a few of your cute fans have contacted me about helping them with their cameras...and they want to know about the manual modes. I will be discussing these modes starting this next Tuesday. I will have it up and ready Tuesday morning. Love you. Niks

Absolutely love Pilates so much that I teach it... and it saved my life and body after a hip injury and between two surgeries to fix it. Made it so that I could actually *move*! I am evangelical about it! :)

Niki, if you're reading, this isn't really a recipe per se, but I've done 1 frozen banana cut into chunks, a few handfuls of spinach, enough milk to give it the texture you want, and a few drops peppermint extract. Next time I make it, I might add a tiny bit of cocoa powder to see what happens! :) Either way, garnish with choc chips. :)
