Girls date without ice cream.

I know it seems to drastic to be true and you may not believe me but I did hang out with my girlfriends (ASH and JULIA) without any ice cream or sugary goodness in sight......

Photo 1

However, as much fun as pump was, next week we will be going to yogurtland afterwards.  I heard it is good to refuel your body with protein within 30 minutes of finishing lifting and the combo of protein from the yogurt, animal protein from the animal crackers (frosted of course) and those meaty gummy bears, I think I will be set and well on my way to 22 inch biceps.

We tried out a new teacher last night and it was a combination of weights, complicated dance moves and Janae looking like an idiot as she tried to dance around the room hopping on one leg.

Why didn't we set-up in the back of the room?  To provide entertainment for everyone around me and to help them feel that much better about themselves.  Wow, I am a good person-always finding ways to make others feel better about themselves.

Earlier in the day I put on my chef hat and got out my can opener to make a sophisticated dinner.

Into the crock pot went: Red-potatoes, green beans, corn, kidney beans, 3 jars of italian stewed tomatoes, chicken, a jar of spaghetti sauce and water. Go have fun for 4-6 hours and come back to a hot, veggielicious dinner.

+10 wife points.  I am almost out of the negative now (I accidentally ate his dessert the other day and lost some major points)

AHHHHH and look what it is....TINA'S BOOK, 'Carrots N' Cake'!!!! Seriously, get this book now.....I am LOVING it and can't wait to do the full review.  My ipad feels bad because I have forgotten about it since I got this book and can't put it down!

Just to make things interesting and to fill that separate dessert stomach, I had to eat a lil leftover from last night. Recipe HERE.

Check back after school for a Tuesday GIVEAWAY....muhahah, I am quite excited for this one:)  P.S. Get excited for summer time....I may be switching to 3 posts a day-watch out Oprah, I may be taking over the world.

Do you have a separate dessert pouch?

-Yes and with my latest x-ray the doctor told me that in fact my dessert stomach is larger than my normal food stomach.  Strange.  PS he told me that boys do not have such a pouch but instead their stomach expands 13 times normal size when there is steak, chicken wings or nachos placed in front of them.

What was the last thing that you made without a recipe and turned out delicious?

-Cereal suicide, grilled cheese and toast with pb do not count.

What are you reading right now?

-Carrots N' Cake, finishing Kara's book, the closed captioning on The Biggest Loser and I am going to start 'Unbroken' (a WWII story about a runner).

Oh yay I cannot wait for your giveaway!

Yes I definitely have a separate dessert stomach! There is ALWAYS room for dessert. :)

I made some homemade tomato jam without a recipe and it was delicious - everyone raved about it and there was ZERO leftover. Success. Now, hopefully I can remember how to make it again.

I'm reading "Unlocked" by Karen Kingsbury, "The Miracle Worker" with my students, and I already have my summer reading list started with "Radical" and "Water for Elephants." :)

Enjoy your day!

Oh man! I have to make that dessert! I want to eat it right now for every meal of the day. My regular stomach IS my dessert stomach. There's a little tiny side one for veggies.

The last thing I made without a recipe was reece's cup-stuffed banana bread cupcakes with pb frosting. SOOO good. There's still one left from the weekend.

I'm reading a boring marketing book for work right now, but I'm switching to something fictiony and trashy when I go to DC this weekend.

do magazines count as reading material? that's all i have time for these days. unless you count credit card statements.

Oh, right now reading Born to Run. Finally.

Obviously a separate dessert pouch! When I was little I used to joke about tattooing a section on my stomach that said "for dessert only". I'm so glad 10 year olds are not allowed to get tattoos.
I'm excited for Tina's book too--need to get myself a copy ASAP!

I would make tons of room in my dessert stomach for those brownies! I love what you said about boys and their nachos/wings/steak, it's so true. My boyfriend passes on dessert because he's full, but then he'll eat a big plate of wings.
I'm reading textbooks now, but in 3 weeks, I'll be done and ready to catch up on my big list of to-read books (like Kara's book!).

That dessert looks phenom! I need some! My dessert stomach is def about three times the size of my real food stomach. Hahaha I love your comment about mens stomachs - so true that they don't have a dessert stomach but their stomachs stretch way out whenever there's meat, cheese, or grease around!

Last night I made some roasted potatoes...took 3 different kinds of potatoes (sweet, white, and yukon gold) and sliced them thin and tossed them with olive oil, rosemary and slices of garlic. Roasted in oven until crispy - so delish!

I'm reading Water for Elephants right now and can't wait to buy Kara's book!!

Whoa, I thought I lost you there when you said you had a girls' date without fro-yo! But don't worry, I've recovered. Possibly from fueling myself with my own "recovery" of leftover Easter candy? :) Happy late Easter, girl!

PS. I've long ago decided that dessert fuels the heart and soul in a critical way that doesn't even touch the rest of the body. True life.

OH MY WORD that dessert looks amazing!! Was it as unbelievably good as it looks?? I was just trying to figure out what to make for dessert to bring to dinner at my parent's house on Friday...I may have just found a winner!!

When I was a little kid my parents would try to tell me I couldn't have dessert if I finished my dinner (which I would never do...I hadn't learned to eat yet when I was little, I'm a pro now;). So when I said I wanted dessert they asked how I could be hungry for dessert when I said I was too full to eat dinner. I explained to them that I had a separate dessert shelf at the top of my stomach that was just for dessert!:)
