Shrimp in my eyeball.

Not gonna lie, Friday was great!

Came home from school and went straight to bed.  Watched an episode of Glee and drifted off into nap heaven.  I am telling you-dealing with 15 years olds makes me feel like a zombie at the end of the week.

Good thing I woke up with a huge smile on my face ready to take on the world.  Seriously, naps are my drug of choice.  I wake up feeling like a completely different person.

I changed into gym clothes to hit up workout #2 for the day.  It had nothing to do with working out (okay, maybe a little) and everything to do with the fact that Oprah was on (no cable at the Jacob's residence) and she was talking all about the Royal wedding so going on the elliptical on level 1 @ 2.2 mph sounded like the best solution.

My two favorite things....Oprah and Kate Middleton.

Photo 6

If anyone out there reading this has special connections to the Oprah show, please hook me up.  It is only in the top 3 of 'Things I must do before I die' list. I can't tell you what the other two things are but they do include Yogurtland, winning a marathon, and a Billy Jr.

I showered by request of the birthday girl as her birthday present and we headed over to Tepanyaki.

IMG 5733

Pretty sure the dude just made fun of us the whole time but we laughed so we tipped him well.

IMG 5738

That is until he got shrimp into my eyeballs.  If you make fun of my double chin I will cry.

IMG 5748

IMG 5746

Pretty sure I could eat this every meal everyday for the rest of my life besides the fact it costed more than I make in two days of teaching. That chicken better be filled with magic speedy recovery dust or something.

IMG 5745

Note to self: Lack of running leads to excessive cheek fat gaining.

IMG 5751

Happy Birthday Shelly and EXCELLENT choice of Birthday cake....Funfetti rocks my world.

Do you think the whole Royal wedding was overrated?

-Not at all.  I loved everything about it but Billy cannot understand the big deal.  Boys.....

If you are a meat eater what do you normally choose.......steak, chicken or seafood?

-My all time favorite is seafood but if I am in the mood for the other two I always get them.

What is the weather like where you are?

-I just woke up to snow....like a lot of it:(

I always choose seafood if I'm out to eat but at home it's chicken = cheap.
It's going to be 80 and sunny later on today, woo-hoo!
I think the Royal Wedding was overrated! Sorry! Everyone keeps asking me questions about them since I'm English but I don't know anything! She did look beautiful, and I saw the kiss on the news, but that's it!

Totally agree on the favourite things. Oprah and Royal Wedding = a splendid TGIF!!!

SNOW ??? I'm from Canada (Ottawa, Ontario area)...and we don't even have snow! Went up to 22 degrees the other day. Spring time is here finally, thank goodness! (I was starting to gauge my eyeballs out having to wear my winter boots into work in APRIL!) Argh!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm a new reader to the blog and beyond making me nostalgic for Utah, you brighten my day everytime!! So glad to follow your adventures!! Happy Weekend!!

I'm about to go run a 5k in a few inches of snow up here in Montana. I feel your pain :( I'm not sure we're going to see spring here...

First off, I love oprah too and even had my students write her a letter about why I should be on the show! Its so annoying that she is leaving and I haven't been able to get tickets.

Meats- I prefer shrimp so i guess seafood, then chicken then steak.

Loved the wedding, loved her and loved the dress.

Weather- around 40-50 ish i'm guessing. Wearing a sweatshirt and can tolerate shorts. Sunny.:) That's what matters!

I recently got the OWN on cable and she has a show "behind the scenes" or something? OMG...it makes you love her even more.
If I ever win tix I will bring you (for real!) I don't know anyone else who likes her.

BAH! Snow?!?! We are finally getting decent weather in Toronto, Ontario. It has been a crazy spring but the sun came out today and it's warm enough for a t-shirt! We had a rough winter here though so I can definitely relate to the snow. Hope it warms up for you soon!

I don't think it was overrated either!

I only eat red meats like twice a year so I would go with fish over chicken.

The weather is finally turning around, high of 10 today with some rain - I will take it, hopefully your snow doesn't last long!

I hear ya about being exhausted from teaching. I teach 23 kindergarten students and Friday nights usually include some sort of nap situation!

The weather here has been crazy, wearing t-shirts all week but Sunday (the day I'm running a 1/2 marathon) it's supposed to be windy and snow AGAIN!!!

I didn't get the obsession with the royal wedding either! So weird! :)

I love seafood and would eat only that if I could....except since Colorado is landlocked, it's probably not my best idea..

The weather here is nuts too. It was 71 yesterday and beautiful and today it might snow with a high temp of 40! Yuck!

I can't tell what the weather is like right now. I'm in the basement of Penn Station (nyc) waiting to head out of here on the way to DC, but I think it's nice out.

I didn't really watch anything on the Royal Wedding, but I did google it!

ps this is Kari from Jogging With Fiction, I've switched to a new blog!

At first I thought the wedding was overrated, but then I watched a repeat airing of it last night and I cried like a baby! They looked so happy together and it was a beautiful ceremony!

I usually eat chicken or turkey for my meat, but I'm really not picky and will eat just about anything.

NorCal is sunny, windy, and in the 70s. You should come visit and we can eat fro-yo together!

SNOW?! Janae, you definitely need to come visit Tennessee it's 73 and sunny right now. It's no SoCal, but we're doin' pretty fine.

My boyfriend doesn't understand the big deal either. He thinks it is ridiculous how much time people are spending watching the coverage of the wedding. I liked seeing some of it but I didn't wake up at 3:30 to watch it

The weather here (in Northeast PA) is absolutely gorgeous! 70*, sunny with a slight breeze. Unfortunately my hubby has to work for 16 hours today (love the overtime paycheck, hate the actual time away from home). So it looks like the dog & i are on our own to enjoy this day. Long long walk outside it is!

What is the weather like where you are?

Mmm.. meat. I love meat. I will always choose steak over chicken or seafood. My husband thinks its weird that I wake up in the morning and have beef jerky for breakfast, a hamburger for lunch, and then a steak for dinner. Sometimes he wonders if he is married to a man.

What SNOW in APRIL!! I guess I can't complain about the weather here, rain and wind and low 60's, but I will take that over snow anytime. Great job on catching that shrimp with your eye ball, that takes some talent girl! Keep dominating that elliptical, you will be running in no time!

That picture of the shrimp is absolutely hilarious! I love that.

I watched the Royal Wedding when I worked out in the morning. I loved it. It was incredible!

I love steak, but I know it isn't really good for me to eat it constantly, so I tend to eat chicken except at special meals like Hibachi.

I've always been afraid the chef was gonna nail me in the eye with food. Usually they shoot it right down my cleavage. I'm starting to think it might be on purpose at the one restaurant because it happens EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I loved the wedding, I love Kate MIddleton, and I will not be apologizing for it. Also, the hats. I friggin love the hats!

Royal wedding = highly overrated. But I was old enough (barely) to remember Charles and Diana. However, I am in love with Kate Middleton's dress (it was all over the internet and could not be avoided). I'm trying to think of an occasion whem I might need to wear soething similar to it.
I ususally pick chicken - I wish I liked seafood cuz it's so good for you.
It's cloudy & humid out but almost 80 so I'll take that over snow any day.

At April 30, 2011 at 11:30 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I like chicken a lot from restaurants and at home but if I have to chose what meal to have for a special occasion its steak (like for my birthday)

I get extra cheek fat from not running too! = worst thing ever.

I LOVED THE ROYAL WEDDING! Really I just love any weddings.

I'm a steak girl-I like me some iron.

We're having a day of freak beauty in Chicago-it's 70 and sunny!

And about Oprah-my mom has been to her show before. http://www.oprah.com/oprah_tickets.html Tickets are free...but next season is her last so you better make it to Chi-town quick!

I love hibachi! I swear I get made fun of when we go too...usually due to me missing whatever item the cook launches at my face multiple times.

Wedding- looked up pictures, but didn't watch. Mostly amused by the crazy hats/fascinators.

Meat of choice- I love shrimp and fish! I like red meat, but only have it once every 1-2 weeks. I have chicken more often, but rarely does it blow my mind like shrimp or a good piece of salmon, mahi mahi, etc.

Weather this weekend- upper 60s and sunny with blue skies and puffy white clouds. This week was pretty dreary, so I'm happy for nice weekend weather.

Haha...I love how your Friday afternoon/night started. That's now mine often starts. Sometimes, I'm just so exhausted from the work week a nap is just what I need, and then I can hang out with friends later on :)

I'd probably choose chicken out of the meats, but I also really like a good steak every once in a while.

The weather for me today is a high of 65 degrees and mostly sunny. Perfect :) Have a great weekend!

Oh gosh, I'm in Belfast right now, and SO OVERRATED, it was hard to not see coverage of the big event.

I'm a chicken person when I'm home, seafood or steak when I don't have to cook it :)

GORGEOUS. No "rainy Irish weather" today! 70 and sunnnyyyy. If only I wasn't supposed to be studying, but I'm totally not going to feel guilty about playing hooky on a day like today :)

Dear Hungryrunnergirl,
First I must tell you that after seeing all your bags of Costco spinach and broccoli, I was getting jealous. I breathed a sigh of relief when my daddio invited me to Costco with him today, and I totally went to town on those veggies and samples. Which all made me think of you, naturally.

I am also a turkey and chicken eater which is good because I bought a whole lotta that at Costco too. I will be eating a lot of spinach and chicken for a long time.

Lastly, what triggered this hunger was probably the 10 miles I spent running on the trails this morning here in Kansas, complete with 70 degree temperatures and a bright, shiny sun! Hope you are have a super Saturday!

I appreciate you're upset, stressed and anxious over your injury (heck, I would be too! I am always distraught and moaning about my injuries) but there's no need to keep making jibes at yourself either about weight gain (of which there appears to be none!) or having a double chin/fat cheeks in almost every post.

You are gorgeous. And if you have a double chin, I have twenty. So there.

I don't think it was over hyped either. Kate looked amazing! They both looked SO in love (a far cry from Diana's wedding).

I love Teppanyaki. :( Wish I could go. I had a hookup to Oprah last year but there was 3 of us and only 2 seats (given by an Oprah employee), so we scrapped our plans. So bummed.

Loved the hats and crumpets on yesterday's episode.

I LOVE seafood. One of the big things I'm looking forward to doing when my hubby and I are back in the states for leave this summer is going down to the coast and eating at a really great seafood restaurant. :-D
Yesterday it rained constantly, all day, for 24 hours. Today, however, it looks like it will be nicer, somewhere in the 60s. Of course, back home it's been in the 80s and has even hit 90 already. I'd rather have that weather (I hate cold weather and any weather that I consider to be too cold, lol)
