Elevator Injury.

Due to my latest obsession with roasting my broccoli with obscene amounts of garlic, Billy has turned somewhere else for his kisses.

Am I jealous? Yes

Is it worth it? He'll (if you put an apostrophe in the word, it is not swearing) yes.  Garlic and broccoli are the new pb and j.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did something majorly not smart yesterday.

Whenever the in-laws are in town we hang out in the lobby of the hotel they are staying at and sit and chat (play on our Apple obsessions) for hours.

****Another thing to add to the list of my OCD tendencies.....  I HATE it when my hands get dry.  Like, it is all I can think about and if it came down to me stealing a bottle of lotion from a child in order to hydrate my hands, I would.

My hands were in desperate need of hydration so I took the room key and made my way to their room by myself.

Got on the elevator by myself.

And like any normal person that is on an elevator I jumped right as I was getting to the level I needed to go to (ya know how you try to jump at the right time so it feels like there is no gravity for a split second).

Yes, I do things like that when I am all by myself.  I am easily entertained.

I forgot my femur was broken.

I learned my lesson and I hate that I have to cut out my favorite weird habits and things in the day that make me smile real big and feel like I am 8 again.  Next time I will just do it on one leg.

IMG 5512

Yes, I made Billy come take pictures after it happened so that I could document it on the blog.

Out take: The door started to close and this is me trying to stop it.

IMG 5513

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't want to talk about it. Don't ask any questions and we should just pretend it never happened (at least ignore the three after this one.)

IMG 5518

P.S. Billy's game was canceled due to rain....booo but THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the good luck wishes.....love you best friends!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you addicted to lotion like me? Tell me some of your OCD tendancies.....

-Mass amounts of Chapstick/lip gloss on at all times, locking doors excessively, going to bed early (does that count), not washing my hair, and running. Oh yeah and eating one food each day in the shape of an animal.

Do you jump on elevators or participate in other activities that a five year old would do?

-97% of my life is doing strange things, if you think I am kidding you can ask Billy, my in-laws, my family or anyone that has ever met me in real life.

What is the best EASTER food you have had lately?

-Sprinkles the color of Easter...sign me up.

Like, Love or dislike dogs?

-LOVE, I want one so so bad!

I cringed when you reminded me that the femur was broken! Ouch!! My best friend is OCD about locking doors. When we lived together in college, I always made fun of her. (sorry)

I think I'm OCD about having a clean house (sometimes). Other times I'm OCD about eating breakfast. Okay, all the time.

OUCH! I have been having some ankle issues (probably just from zumba and running), and for some reason yesterday I forgot about them and decided to show my 7th graders my round-off during class - barefoot. It hurt and my ankle is definitely more sore this morning! And I totally do the elevator thing! It is still so much fun!

I am OCD about my pantry - I want everything to be in it's own spot lol. I am also OCD about having moisturized lips and skin. I cannot tell you how many bottles of Aveda Replenishing lotion I have gone through!

I think I had the best Easter food yesterday - a cookie and cream bunny. It reminded me of you haha. It was delicious.

I haven't had ANY easter food yet. I think it's time to remedy that. I'm going to make banana bread cupcakes with pb frosting and a reece's cup inside today, though!

I LOVE dogs. mine is the best, if a little nutty!

Hope your leg is ok after the jump!

I am so glad I am not the only one who is obsessed with locking doors! It used to make me late all the time because I had to go back and check that the doors were locked! And last week in yoga class I was having a mini meltdown in my brain because I couldnt remember if I locked my car door.

I've never jumped in an elevator. I'd be scared I would break it!

Best easter treats are Cabury Cream Eggs for sure! And peeps!

I have not had nearly enough Easter candy yet, and it's almost gone! I need to get on that! I need Cadbury cream eggs in my life.

I am obsessive about clipping my fingernails. I keep clippers in my purse, car, office, bathroom, etc. I clip them about every 2 or 3 days, and if I notice they're too long, I have to cut them NOW.

i'm OCD about lotion as well....i utterly detest my hands feeling dry!

you can borrow my dog :)

AND i'm petrified of the jumping thing in elevators & my hubby refuses to stop doing it. i think it's because i got trapped in an elevator once. i also had an escalator incident, which was equally as traumatizing! & come to think of it, i had an incident on a moving sidewalk as well! gah, at least the stairs have been good to me thus far, except that one time falling down them at the country club & taking out a 6ft plastic easter bunny.

which brings me to my next point: easter candy! reese's pb cups in the shape of eggs, please!!! love them :)

At April 22, 2011 at 7:22 AM , Blogger Mallory said...

Ouch!!! I do that in elevators too but what I like even more is jumping right as it starts to go down and you feel like you jump so high. It's the best!! I'm not good at putting lotion on because I hate the way it feels. I know, I'm weird. I am obsessed with chapstick though!!!

Easter treats... obviously the Swedish Fish eggs. I'm pretty much the most popular girl at work now because I brought them in to share.

I like dogs. My spouse is trying to talk me into getting one.

This story made me laugh! I hate having dry hands & lips too - I carry around 3 chapsticks in each jacket pocket with me just in case.
LOVE dogs! I can't wait to get my own because I miss my dog when I'm at school. My neighbor's dog just had yellow lab puppies, and they are the cutest things ever.

Hope you have a Happy Easter!

I totally feel the same way about lotion and chapstick - I CANNOT be without it, I think I would have a mental breakdown. haha.
Also, I LOVE doggies! My boyfriend and I have a pitbull, and I bought myself a sweatshirt that says, "Pitbull Mama" on it! :) She's the sweetest dog ever - not mean or scary at all!

mmm Krispy Kreme. The one near my hometown closed a few years back and it was sooo good.
I"m OCD about locking the doors at night. All my roomies have laughed at one point in time. I cannot sleep until it is checked a trillion times. Even if I KNOW it's locked I'll crawl out of bed and check again right as Im about to fall asleep.
Fav Easter food is definitely ham. I CANNOT wait to devour it on Sunday. But cadbury eggs & reeses pbcup easter bunnies might take the cake.

Whew, I got nervous when I read the title of the post. I thought you were going to say that you got trapped in the elevator!

I love dogs and I've looked at breeds that are good at running. So far people have recommended Greyhounds and Weimaraners. I just know that I first need to live in a house with a big backyard before even thinking about getting one of those breeds. One day...!

Hey there, girlie!

I'm a lotion & chapstick & hand sanitizer freak! You should see my desk at work... and my night stand... and my car! I do the locking doors thing too. Which is why I'm glad when I get home before my hubby because he has to worry about locking the doors!

I'm sorry you hurt your leg again. Those elevator pictures made me laugh! You look like you are doing the running man dance! LOL!! That was my first though!

Every year I have to allow myself to have one cadburry creme egg. I kinda suck on them til the chocolate melts & the cream comes out. I know, messy but soooo good. I'm making a ham sunday! And green bean casserole!

Happy Easter Janae!

I am totally obsessed with putting lotion on. When I used to swim my skin would always be so dry but I could only put lotion on on weekends because I hated swimming with lotion on. It was a vicious cycle

Oh Krispy Kreme, I miss them. They closed all the shops here in the Chicagoland area several years ago when the Atkins diet was popular. Damn midwesterners will eat at mikcey D's and Taco Bell but not Krispy Kreme apparently. Why would anyone want to close a shop that hands you free warm donuts hot off the press when you walk in?

LOVE dogs!!! I would have never thought about my leg either. Sometimes you just get the urge to act like a kid and it takes over you and you can't get rid of it until you just do it!! haha! But I am glad you are okay!

I'm not obsessed with lotion (although, I should be, considering that it's April and my hands resemble coarse sandpaper), but I HAVE TO have the same breakfast each morning - oatmeal - and it has to be prepared the same way... Yes, I'm weird.

Elevator jumping? It depends on the situation. But thinking back, I've been in an elevator all of three times in the past year. Guess I don't go into tall buildings very often!

I haven't really done any Easter baking yet, but I am planning a blowout for today. Gotta prepare for brunch on Sunday, so I'll be whipping up lemon poppyseed muffins, cookies, and that sort of thing :)

Last but not least, I love dogs. Big ones or little ones, preferably not in the middle.

You are hilarious with your elevator jumping. I hate having dry hands, too! And it's a vicious cycle because I use hand sanitizer or wash my hands all the time and then apply lotion. Repeat.

I am so addicted to lotion and if I don't have lotion or chapstick I get a little crazzzy!I dont really like elevators so I dont move much in them. I ate a bag of Easter candy at the grocery store before I even paid for it since I was having such a bad day on Tuesday. I was really shamed when I got to the register and had to pay for an empty bag. I am making Hot Cross Buns today though :)

I love dogs, I have a pekepoo and she is the sweetest, cutest and sometimes smartest dog ever! I can't imagine life without her!

I always jump at the wrong time in elevators, so it never really works out for me haha. I do that thing with locks too. Another habit I have its at my school I'll always wipe the table I sit down at with a wet one and open all the door handles with a tissue or whatever I have in my hand. I'm not a super clean person, I'm organized messy but one night I watched a documentary about germs in schools and now it just freaks me out, haha.

Ahhhh I have puppy fever right now, I want one soooo bad!

OOo, we work in the tallest building in Seattle, and there's an express elevator that takes you from the 5th floor to the 40th. Jumping when you get to the 40th floor is aweeeeeeesome.

Be careful missy! I also love jumping on elevators, but healing your femur takes precedence with this one! :)
P.s. I LOVE that you eat unhealthy sometimes. *Don't worry, I think you eat enough broccoli & exercise enough to make up for it ;)* It makes me feel like it's okay to give in to my cravings sometimes. I mean, heck, I'm running 65-70 miles a week. It's hard to do sometimes though when I see my roommate eating what she calls a salad (ice berg lettuce with a couple chopped up carrots and fat free ranch on the side-gag). I often compare myself to her, and I feel so guilty when I eat stuff like frozen yogurt or a pb covered banana.
I'm towards the end of my recovery from anorexia :/, and so I'm trying to overcome 'fear foods' and relearn how to eat like a normal person! ha

But seriously, thanks for being so real :) I love your love for life, and reading your blog is a WONDERFUL part of my day that I always look forward to. <3
