Boy Push-Ups, Broccoli, Cupcakes and Thank You.

Let's be honest, I have a lot more free time on my hands which means I take even more pictures throughout the day of the random things that occur.  I am sorry but you are just going to have to suffer through way too many pictures for the next 8 weeks.

I started off yesterday with hungryrunnersister for a weight session at the gym.  Since I am such a goal oriented person I have made a goal that is going to kick my trash and I can't wait.  I can currently do 10 boy push-ups in a row but that is all going to change.  My goal is ONE HUNDRED push-ups in a row.  Give me a couple weeks and I WILL get there. (P.S. The doc said pushups are more than okay for the leg that decided to turn on me and make me a hater....which it has failed to do.)

Photo 11

After the gym we took my parents some lunch because they were working hard with clients all day and had no time to get lunch and then the sister treated me to my favorite.  A pan full of broccoli will win my heart over every time.  She puts a layer of garlic (I am talking thick here) and tops it with broccoli and roasts it at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Billy probably won't want to kiss me for a few days but dang.....garlic is amazing!

IMG 5301

That would be a teriyaki chicken breast from Costco on the side.

IMG 5304

Nap time occurred shortly after.  We cuddled up on her bed and watched 'Chopped' and '16 and Pregnant' as we ate chocolate chips straight from the bag.

The niece has changed from her hat obsession (mainly because we hid it) to wearing these DARK sunglasses all day long, even inside.  She may have ran into the wall a few times because of them and yes, I am an evil aunt and laughed my head off.

Photo 12

My sister, the coupon queen, scored a $15 gift card for only $5 to a local bakery and we had to spend all $15 at once.  I just had to get two treats whether I wanted to or not.  The cupcake was so so but that coconut bar in the back is what heaven's doors are made of.  Must replicate (if you have a good cookie bar recipe please send it to me.  I must have these in my life more often.....that is until I meet with the nutritionist:)

IMG 5306

She is a smart girl and chose a homemade oreo and I think I stole a bite, I can't remember but I think I loved it a lot.

IMG 5305

I came home and got ready to teach spin. I am going to continue to teach spin because I honestly LOVE it.  The endorphins from my spinees absorbed into my skin and I left class feeling awesome.  I can't have tension or come out of the saddle and if it hurts at any point I STOP but it is good to get the blood flowing to heal these bones of mine asap.

Once again, thank you so much everyone for the comments, emails, tweets, texts, pictures and to Bess for putting together an amazing HUGGING post for me (go check it out!!!).....she is the sweetest thing in the world.

And thank you SO much Julia, Rachelle, Jen,Megan, Ash for restocking the 3 C's (candy, cookies and clothes) stash and listening to me complain for hours on end.  I don't know how I ever lived without the blogging community.

IMG 5307

You HAVE to check out Jen's AMAZING GIVEAWAY. She is giving a GARMIN, Spibelt and the cutest shirt ever away.  Do not miss out on her crazy awesomesauce blog and giveaway. You will fall in love with this woman!

Love garlic.

I have a serious Bridezillas obsession. It's like a train wreck - I just can't look away

OMG, I so love The Hills, too! I watch reruns all the time. I also love Teen Mom and all those Challenge shows on MTV.

Your niece is TOO CUTE! I love little kids in sunglasses for some reason :)

What a challenge!! My guns are pathetic so i'm totally in!! plus I need a new challenge now that my marathon's over!

Your friends are so LOVELY for looking after you so well, but that's only because you're a LEGEND. When you're fully recovered you are going to SMASH NY this autumn.

And i LOVE the hills. I make my boyfriend watch reruns with me and he always complains but I know he's obsessed too ( I keep catching him humming the theme tune)

Love garlic!! I had some serious garlic in my dinner last night and came home breathing fire on my bf.

I love the 100 push up fitness goal - I used to do lots of push ups every day and I'm not sure why I stopped. I think my goal will be to get my split back...I used to have it in high school but am now pretty far away from being able to do one. Thanks for the motivation - goals are fun!

I can pretty much get sucked into any trashy show if I sit there long enough. I still love the Kardashians even though they have so many spin off shows its ridiculous.

I also must say that I'm jealous that your fam lives so close and you get to see your sister and work out with her all the time. My sister is in Virginia and I'd give anything to see her more and have her be my lifting buddy!

LOVE me some garlic! Poor hubs:)

I watch 16 and Pregnant, too. I may or may not watch True Life if it's a "good" topic (they're all so bad, they're good!) Something about watching other people male poor decisions makes me feel good, isn't that awful?!

GOOD LUCK LADY! Keep that smile on!

I'd love to join you for a pushup challenge! One of my goals for this year was to be able to do one complete (unassisted) pullup by the end of the year, but so far I've been staying in hotel gyms that don't have any kind of bar I can use to practice.

At April 14, 2011 at 7:35 AM , Blogger V said...

Woohoo for more pictures! And, as always, you are adorable!

I LOVE garlic. Whenever I make a new recipe, I automatically double whatever amount of garlic it calls for. Seriously. Love.

I'm embarrassed that I watch Glee....although it's so much fun!

I can't believe your shooting for 100 boy pushups! I'm lucky if I can do 2! Maybe my new goal should be to develop some sort of upper body strength...

I love garlic! I'm 1/2 Korean so I have no choice...genetically inclined!

I will join you on the push-up challenge! getting a stronger upper-body is a goal of mine!! I have strong legs but a weak upper body. Still can't do a pull-up!

Your sis is a sweetheart and you are soo blessed to have such a wonderful, supportive family and friends!! You reap what you sow and the seeds that you've planted (friendship, kindness) has turned into a beautiful garden. Your "flowers" in your garden are soo beautiful!! :)

love ya "Mrs. Janae speedy Jacobs!!" xo :)

Hey girl,

Garlic is one of my favorite things I ever. When cooking, I usually increase the amount I use by 50% over what the recipe calls for. :)

I'm not really a tv person...does Glee count as embarrassing?

I was so excited this morning to see your new arms fitness goal--I talked to my trainer this morning about FINALLY getting strong enough to do a pull up. It's on!

hundredpushups.com is awesome!! It's a 6 weeks program and it is definitely hard!!! I'm at week 4 and it KILLS! You start at the level you are at and it gets harder each week. I think it is a great and potentially safe way to not overdue yourself. We don't want you hurting your shoulders!

I am in for the push up challenge. I use to be able to do 100 but then it hurt my shoulder, time to try again. I am good with garlic in small amounts. I love train wreck tv shows.

So first off i want to say I am OBSESSED with your blog. I Love it! You are soo funny and inspirational. Secondly I was reading your post today and I saw something that made me super excited, other then seeing mass amounts of candy, one being sour patch kids (my favorite)! I see that your sister is wearing an OU t-shirt. Is she a fan?? I am a BIG fan, like super fan. Yeah lameo but I just have to know! Also i am soo sorry about Boston. Your right, Boston will always be there and the fact you made it into Boston should make you smile. Thats a BIG accomplishment and not many runners can say that they made it into such a prestigious race. You definitely are an inspiration.

Ohh I love garlic....Dang, 100 push-ups? You go girl! My current fitness goal is 200 miler relay. Maybe I should add the hundred push-ups to my goals too. How bad ass would it be to do 100 push-ups....I used to watch Jersey Shore a lot, but it was entertaining.

Garlic.is.bomb. Love it on nearly anything and everything and I always double or triple the amount called for in recipes.

I'm definitely in for the 100 pushup challenge - I used to be able to do 100 but haven't tried in a while. My guess is that 50 would be all I can do with good form, but I'm going to try tonight and I'll let you know tomorrw. I love some pushups!

I am embarrassed that I enjoy watching ANTM and Project Runway - I hate all the drama, but the results amaze me. I also love watching the old "teeny-bopper" shows from my era - Saved by the Bell, What I Like About You (okay, maybe that was after my teenage years, still love it), Fresh Prince - but I'm not embarrassed bc these are awesome.

Have a FABULOUS day!

first, i love your blog! i only have a few that i read every day, and you better believe you have one of those coveted spots. i'm really sorry to read that you won't be running boston. i have a quad strain that is keeping me from training for the seattle rock-n-roll half marathon, so i can sympathize. but what i wanted to pass along is an awesome song. you say you love music and that it can really change your mood, try the song "the show goes on" by lupe fiasco. i think the title sort of sums up what we need to remember when we are sidelined by an injury.

Great new goal! That (and eating all that candy :) ) will definately help keep your mind off not running a bit. I love it that you have such drive! I'm actually already doing the 100 push-up challenge, I started on Monday. So I will be joining you. I could do 35 to begin, because I do push-ups regularly, but 100 still seems like so many! Are you following the 100 push-up challenge website? I'm kind of sad I missed getting my hug in Bess's hug post, I'm still gonna send you a hug anyways though!

You are going to look ripped with all those push-ups. I mean you already look great, but seriously push-ups do such amazing things for the upper body.

Can I come hang out with you, your sister, and your niece? Your house sounds like so much fun. I'll bring the broccoli. :)

Guilty pleasure - any reality show starring a Kardashian. Hoping Bruce will come out with his own soon. Miss him!

Oh my goodness, I can't even believe your drive! It's so hard for me to even want to go to the gym, and then i read this and realize that's a horrible excuse! Oh man, I totally miss the hills too. It was on tv the other day and you better believe I watched every episode they were showing.

100 pushups lady! Man, hopefully you recover quickly, because I'm thinking once you can do 100 seal-pushups world domination won't seem like an unreasonable goal...

Small suggestion/I'd like to see comment - I can see that your blog isn't exclusively about running, but maybe as you're taking time to focus on injury prevention, etc, you could give us all a quick rundown of your stretching routine - pre/post?

Love your attitude! Keep on trucking!

OMG I can only do 2 right now, but I'll take the challenge too! What I really should be doing is an ab challenge with summer on the way.

p.s. I have a weird obsession with 16 and prego
