Ice Cream Oxymoron.

I AM NOW ON TWITTER!!!!! Click the cute twitter button on the side to follow me.  I have no idea what I am doing but I am sure it will be a good time!

Hey Utah bloggers and readers......we get a chance to be real life best friends!!!!

Saturday Jan 29th Ice Cream Social.  4:00 PM.  Best friends, sugar overload and lots of talking about running.....PLEASE COME!! Email me and I will give you directions and more details. It is almost my birthday so if you come that counts as my birthday present.

If you are not in Utah we could always skype you into the party....I will bring my laptop, pull up a chair for you and order you an ice cream cone....I will have to eat it at the end of our party though.

My Oxymoron Of The Day.

Sweaty after teaching spin with gym clothes on, 10 degrees outside and a tub of strawberry ice cream for dinner.

Sometimes, a girls gotta do what she's gotta do.

Wood paneling and a swamp cooler.  We are classy.  If you want me to incorporate all of my home decorating tips into the blog let me know. I can teach you how to transform your home into a 'vintage' linoleum kingdom.

The roof of my mouth feels like I have a third degree burn because I stopped the pain meds......I hate feeling loopy.  So, ice cream was there for me in my darkest point.

Don't worry all of you health nuts I will take my vitamins as soon as my spoon hits the bottom of the cartoon.  Maybe, I will make a green monster too....ha, jk I don't know how you guys drink those spinach smoothies.  You are my hero's.

I also had tuna and mashed potatoes for din din but no picture because it looked like cat food.

Billy had a froached egg sandwich that looked so delicious.....

3. I have already finished my Thursday morning workout. Walked down to my basement and hit my treadmill for 3 miles with two .25 "hills" mixed in!

Oh, and totally would skype into the ice cream party! LOL. Of course you would all end up seeing my horrible mouth full of cold sores...darn virus!!

I wanna come to your spinning class & dance! Start with a little spinach & lots of other stuff at first, and make sure you add a banana - it makes it so much better. I don't keep ice cream stocked in my freezer cause it would be gone so fast - I just go to ben & jerry's which is right on campus!

We do keep ice cream in the fridge, right now it's some gelato that was on sale at Sprouts, PB/Chocolate flavor! Yesterday morning I had a Johnny Cash song stuck in my head, it just wouldn't go away and all I can remember of it is the first verse...not the most fun workout song!

I am jealous. Wish I lived in Utah so we could be real life friends! Green smoothies are delish...1.5-2 frozen bananas, two huge handfuls of spinach, a cup of milk (i use almond breeze original), big spoonful of peanut butter (like 2 tbsp) . That's my favorite . Can't taste the spinach at all!

At January 27, 2011 at 5:57 AM , Blogger Stephanie said...

Yay for being on twitter!
No Thursday AM workout for me, I have to get in a long run tonight before heading out on vaca tomorrow!

I do the green smoothie thing. My fav smoothie is Strawberries, 1 Orange, and 1 banana with yogurt for thickness. OJ and berries mask the spinach 100% so I just throw it in for added nutrients and a veggie serving- and to gross people out!

I actually don't have ice cream in the freezer. They were all out of cakebatter flavor....

Jillian this morning. Too lazy to leave my house and I'm running tonight.

I will never drink a green smoothie. Yuck. I LOVE spinach. I eat bags of it. I eat bags and bags and bags of green vegetables every week. I need not force them into a smoothie! Kudos to those who are finding ways to eat it if they don't like it! Happy Thursday!

Ahhhh! Black and yellow! That's Pittsnurgh's official new fight song for the super bowl! Sooooo good!

I wish I could come take your spinning class. I love spinning but our gym doesn't have an actual class...just bikes. I need a routine to follow or else I just keep doing the same stuff over on the bike!

And omg you are on twitter! Yes! Me and mike talked about you yesterday at dinner and were waiting for you to make a twitter!

No thursday morning work out but a thursday evening workout...8 miles in the snow! :)

Love ya girl!

I haven't tried a green monster yet. I keep wanting to but don't have enough extra cash to buy the spinach! Diapers, milk, bananas, and eggs prevail in our house!

We don't usually have ice cream.....but there's this place close by that does a frozen fruit thing where they freeze the pulp, beat it up so its almost slushy and serve it with banana, strawberries and granola. Oh and condensed milk, too! =D
I did an awesome circuit workout this morning and had a green monster afterward! My trick is to use as little green as possible(1/3 of a cup! =P) and then to add a lot of yummy, strong flavors. Like you could do a banana mango smoothie and the fruit flavors would cover up the greens. OOh or banana and chocolate! =D

At January 27, 2011 at 6:24 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well, I did an awesome circuit workout this morning!!!!! Aaand I had a green monster afterward. My trick is to put in a bunch of stuff with strong flavors that cover up the green. Like frozen banana chunks and frozen mango. Or banana and lots of cocoa powder and honey. That way I get the greens without tasting them in my smoothie! =D
Oh and we don't usually have ice cream in our freezer....but we like to go to this local place where they take frozen acai pulp (almost tastes like chocolate!), blend it up so that its slushy, and top it with banana, strawberry and granola. Oh and condensed milk too! =D

No ice cream for kinda makes me sick. But I do have a huge tub of rainbow sherbert and a big half-empty box of cremecicles. Yum!

Still no working out for me. I attempted one of the boot camp dvds I have this morning, but the wheezing and diving for the tissue box just wasn't pretty. I got about 15 minutes of it done before I gave in that I'm still lingering sick.

Everyone is getting on Twitter! I guess this means I have to also so that I may continue to stalk all my friends. lol

I'm sorry you're still in pain, but I'm glad ice cream is there to make it better!
Right now, I think all that's in my freezer is a whole lotta frozen beans. We kept buying bags of them and now I think there's four... :P If I were to do a restock, my current craving is for raspberry sherbet...mmmm.
My plan is to finish this apple and then do some p90x and run on the treadmill! I'm excited! :)
I've never made a green monster. I love protein powder and I love smoothies, but I haven't quite worked up to putting spinach in there yet.

Haha, I laughed through this whole post. I do like green smoothies, but I don't like cleaning the blender after so I don't make them as much as I should. I put a handful of spinach, cup of vanilla soy milk, and frozen banana and give it a whirl! It actually does taste a lot better than it looks.

My workout this morning was to lay in bed for an extra 50 minutes. Oops. Guess I'll have to workout later. I almost tried a green smoothie last week, but couldn't bring myself to put spinach in something already so tasty. I'll just eat a salad instead to go with my smoothie. And we try to keep ice cream out of our freezer. I've found if it is in my freezer, then it inexplicably ends up in my tummy at a very alarming rate.

Just add milk and PB and it's so yummy!!!

Smoothie first...I add spinach to mine, but you never taste it and it is not green. Take a generous handful of spinach, a banana, and 1 cup of frozen blueberries and put into a blender. Add some water and blend it up until completely mixed. It will be purple from the blueberries and you won't taste the spinach one bit. I also add a tablespoon of diced ginger root and 1T of chia seeds. In place of the water I will also add coconut water. Try it sometime...another friend did and said it was fabulous!

I love ice cream too much so we just don't keep it in the house.

Have a great day, Janae. Keep smiling!

I do like a good green smoothie. This is how I make mine (and I make a HUGE pitcher for my whole family--which equals 10 people):

lots of spinach and water
two bananas
about 5-10 medjool dates
sometimes an apple
lots of frozen mixed berries (from Costco)
sometimes frozen strawberries

You blend it all together (I have to do mine in batches and pour it into a big pitcher; then mix it all up before serving) and drink. Sometimes I add ice if it seems too warm. A warm smoothie is disgusting!

I'd love to meet you in real life and I live in SLC. However, we are already busy on Sat. I hope you have a GREAT time.

I'm starting to teach spin and looking for new fun things and your workout lists look great, but I was having a hard time finding more than one. also green monsters- so easy and they dont taste like sludge like they look, I use frozen bananas, scoop of chocolate protein powder, and a few handfuls of spinach- throw it in blender (duh); im trying to cut back on sugar this week so i used frozen spinach and berries instead of fresh spinach and the usual frozen banana.

i keep ice cream stocked in my freezer for my husband. plain vanilla. he eats it with fudge and whipped cream. oh and sometimes home made peanut butter cups, peanut butter cookies, or cereal crumbled on top.

you make me want to move to utah or follow you on twitter. although, i don't have a twitter account. hm.

I LOVE ice cream! I always have some in freezer, and usually more than one kind because how will I know what kind of ice cream mood I might be in tomorrow? Senior year of college I lived with a fellow ice cream addict and we used to have at least 4-5 flavors at any give time. Sigh. Those were the days...

I wish I could come to your ice cream party!

I loovvee your super happy ice cream smile!

I wish I could come to the party, but I had convinced my P-Bear that we are going to Utah to meet you in the next 12 months.

I have to come do your spin class and check out your fancy treadmills. Our gym doesn't have ones that fancy..

My favourite work-out song right now is reaallyy cheesy, the theme from Rocky.

I play that first when I leave for a run, then it's all crazy and random from there on.

Don't tease!

Just added you on Twitter :)

I HATE spinach with a fiery passion, tastes like rotting dirt, but I love them in green monster smoothies. I promise you can't taste the spinach, at all. Trust me, I wouldn't drink them if you could!
If you are ever in Michigan, I'll make one for you!

No, I generally don't have ice cream in the freezer. I eat it pretty fast when it's in there.

My current favorite workout song is the same one as always. "Lose Yourself" by Eminem. I just love it.

My Thursday morning workout was shoveling our cars out. Thursday noontime workout was playing in the snow for 2 hours with the guys I work with and my Thursday evening workout will be a run!

We usually keep little ice cream cups stocked in the freezer (the kind you give out at kid birthday parties). It keeps any of us from eating too much. I put nuts and chocolate chips on top of mine to make a wee little sundae.

Fave workout song right now: Run This Town by Jay-Z

I was so bad and skipped my Thursday morning workout. I woke up at 3 am with a really sore throat and just couldn't get myself up to run. Now I hate myself. Please give me a big old kick in the butt.

Odwalla Green Machine is really good. It tastes like all the bananas and apples in it and not like any of the green stuff. It grosses everyone out when they see me drink it, but it is GOOD!

Tonights workout will be with my command. Ugh. Oh well, it's only once a week....

We have ice cream, sometimes. It just depends. But that was when I lived in the states. The galley here has an entire ice cream bar!

Loved your spin movie- you are adorable! I am very blessed to have an amazing spin instructor here- at my YMCA of all places, and she does some of those moves, but I know most spin is pretty dull. I LOVE me some spin though, would love to take your class!

Fav workout song right now is Tonight (I'm Loving You) by Enrique Iglesias. Totally need the clean version, ha ha. I keep frozen yogurt in the freezer for the kids/husband, but I can give or take it. I'm a bready carb girl all the way. Fav. workout right now is spin, closely followed by a class called iron bodies that is awesome- weights/bands, etc., but done while also squat/lunge/etc. so it's cardio too if that makes sense.

No, we don't keep ice cream in our freezer (we would eat it way too much!), but we always have frozen yogurt. My mom lives 3 houses down and ALWAYS has ice cream. Sometimes I have an ice cream emergency and she is always happy to help me out w/ that. :) What a great mom!

I like Brittney Spears new song - I can't remember the name.

No green monster for me either! ewww....wish I could like it!
