Grumpy Snickerdoodle

If you don't like snickerdoodles you can leave the blog now.

I am totally kidding.  I love you even if you don't have taste buds.

I have never met someone that doesn't love a warm soft snickerdoodle covered in cinnamon sugar goodness.

After my neighbor tried to steal my husband I knew I had to do something to win his heart back.

So, I went home and watched the Bachelor on my computer as I made cookies.  I used thisdelicious recipefor the cookies.

IMG_3861.JPG

Why do I love to stack my cookies?

IMG_3864.jpg

Don't worry Mom or Dr. Graph, I put mine in a blender with vanilla ice cream and milk to blend it up to a snickshakedoodle.

IMG_3865.JPG

I think it worked, he can't even remember what the neighbor brought over now, muhahaha:)

P.S. If you say, "Janae, your cheek looks back to normal!" I will cry.  I am just hoping they are still swollen from the surgery and not permanently chipmunkish.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tuesday morning I did the stair climber and the elliptical for my workout because my right calf muscle (or lack there of) has been bugging me and I DO NOT WANT AN INJURY.

DSC_4082.JPG

I went to school and did my thang when a student raised her hand and said, "Mrs. Jacobs, did you not run this morning?"

I am not even making this up.  I asked her why she thought that and she told me I was being kinda grumpy compared to my usual jumping around the room self.

I evaluated my actions for the day and I really had no reason to be grumpy and I was acting reserved and quiet because I didn't RUN and because I think I was freaking myself out that I might have to take (feel free to gasp) a week off from running.

Don't worry though, after hanging out with the billmister I was back to my annoyingly optimistic self because life IS awesome whether we get to run or not!!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you get grumpy when you don't get your run on?

-Yep, even though I did get my endorphin fix that morning something felt off with me and I couldn't even eat candy to cope with my loss.

What is your favorite cookie in the entire world?

-I LOVE a good sugar cookie.  Nothing beats a soft cookie with delicious frosting and sprinkles.  Get in my belly.

P.S. I PEED MY PANTS A LITTLE WHEN I REACHED 500 FOLLOWERS LAST NIGHT AND BILLY RAN OVER TO HIS COMPUTER SAYING HE WAS GOING TO DEFOLLOW ME SO I WOULD BE BACK TO 499.  I TOOK THE COOKIES BACK FROM HIM AND WILL FREEZE THEM UNTIL I CAN EAT THEM AGAIN.

I get very grumpy. I was supposed to run this morning and woke up to unexpected snow. That made me extremely unhappy because now I have to figure out a Plan B that does not involve the treadmill (sorry, I know you love the treadmill!).

YES I get so grumpy, but if I get to kick toosh on the spin bike for an hour it is all better:) I was grumpy because my hammy was feeling like I pulled it after my long run, so the spin bike was my next best option and was SO GOOD I love making spin classes for myself!:)

Slash send me snickernoodles I love cookies:)

YUM I love frosted sugar cookies too! Or a chocolate chip cookie cake. And I don't necessarily get grumpy if I don't run but I can get abnormally chipper after I do. That's so funny that your student noticed! & YAY for 500 followers!

500 followers is AWESOME! Way to be!

I definitely get grumpy if I can't run, that's pretty much why I hate rest days. I try to take them during the week so I can just go to bed early instead of running after work. Sometimes it works.

I could never pick a favorite cookie. It seems so cruel to leave the other cookies out, but I think if I had to choose it would be a black and white cookie. they are awesome!

You crack me up! Those cookies look so yummy. My favorite cookie is one with lots of stuff in it, like chocolate, oats, nuts, peanut butter whatever. The more loaded up, the better.

I am definately cranky if I don't work out. I didn't run the last 3 days of vacation, and I felt terrible.

Congrats on the 500 followers, that's amazing!

WOOHOO for 500! (501 now actually!)

You take care of that calf!

My favorite cookie, by leaps and bounds, is white chocolate chip w/ macadamia nuts.

I just drooled on my keyboard a little bit thinking about it.

I'm ploanning to celebrate when (AND IF....) I hit 50.
I get completely crabby if I'm too sedentary, and then start worrying about the state of my fitness, finances, life, my dog's bad obedience- ya know- the usual stuff.... INSANE!
I love frosted sugar cookies and soft m&m cookies the very best. And I eat oatmeal raisin cookies for breakfast because they are basically a granola bar.
I hope your calf/shin feels better today- I hate the feeling of impending injury and that makes me cranky too!

I get extremely grumpy if I don't run, and I feel like the whole day is ruined. That's why I always do at least 3 miles (even on a rest day)!!

Funny you would mention your calf pain...I was wondering if you ever get injured or deal with injury-type pain because I can feel my IT band flaring up again and it's ticking me off. Do you have many problems like that?

At January 26, 2011 at 7:19 AM , Anonymous Pam said...

I do feel a little "off" when I don't run. For example, yesterday I tried to take a rest day but, by the evening I was on the treadmill and felt much better. REST DAYS are hard...resting for me is 2 miles, 2 minutes slower than regular pace.

Favorite cookie...hmmm...starbuck oatmeal,cranberry,raisin cookie!! :)

Smart girl for taking it easy and opting to cross-train! I hope your calf begins to feel better, but...if it doesn't please don't push it!! massage, stretch!!!

love ya sweetie xo :)! have a great Wednesday!!

500 followers...I was happy when I woke up yesterday to see my #'s jumped from 11 to 13 over night! :) Snickerdoodles are wonderful and yours look great. I do get grumpy when I don't run...running seems to allow me to blow off a lot more steam than a workout on the elliptical or a class at the gym. I can tell by the end of the day when I haven't run b/c I am a ticking time bomb with my boys....My favorite cookie in the world is a half moon (aka black and white) BUT from a specific bakery in Rochester NY....Chocolate cake like cookie with yummy white and chocolate frosting!!!

My coworker makes tasty snickerdoodles occasionally and brings them to work to share. One time this annoying as all get out guy was overhead saying "man, I HATE it when people ruin a perfectly good sugar cookie by putting cinnamon on it!"

It's a running joke at the office.

Also, I recently came across this snickerdoodle hummus recipe which I thought I should shake with you: http://www.thewannabechef.net/2011/01/17/snickerdoodle-dessert-hummus/

Have a good day! Hopefully your calf doesn't give you too much trouble!

I'm not sure if I get crabby when I don't run but I do get depressed ... which would make me irritable ... which would make me cranky. So, yeah, I get crabby.

M & M sugar cookies from Safeway!! To. Die. For. I have even had my friends in WA mail them to me here in NC. Life sucks without them. I have tried to replicate the recipe but I can't get it perfect.

And I am super grumpy today...it's a much needed rest day. I copped an attitude with the dude at the supplement store because he told me that if I was worried about the 200 calories in the scoop of protein then I needed to take a long look in the mirror and lay off the twikies. What a serious jerk. I told him I don't eat twinkies and he can go back to lifting heavy weights and putting them down again while I go run 26 miles...jerk face. Ugh, still so mad. THEN i went to the post office an got mad at the lady when she made me feel stupid for not having the address already on a box I was sending. I turned around and carried 2 huge boxes out and said, "I'm going to UPS" she muttered somthing about it costing more and said, "Yea I'll pay for better service anyday."

So, maybe I need to workout....

I love snicker doodles. I made peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies last night by special request for new man friend. Putty in my hands haha.

I know what you mean, after having a cold for a few days and not running I was so excited to get out and do 2 miles this morning. Even though it was slow and my legs were like um excuse me what are you doing it felt awesome!

The cookies look awesome. You are so making me hungry for some! I will take the ones you aren't letting Billy have ;-)

I'm in a bad mood today, because I didn't run before work like planned (I slept poorly). Even though I am planning to run after work, i'm still mad that I didn't run before (I run much better in AM)

Any removal from exercise in my routine makes me grumpy and super tired.

My favorite cookie? Oh man. Soft oatmeal raisin. Mmmmmmmmm.

I love snickerdoodle!

I get anxious when I don't run/work out. I wasn't going to today because I'm going to my parents for dinner after work but I think when I get home later I'm going to have to do something!

I recently suffered an injury and had to take 3 months off of running. This almost killed me!!! Now I'm only allowed to run three to four days a week. So although cross training really does suck compared to running... ah sigh... its totally worth not over doing it! Hang in there girly.
(oh and your cookies look amazing.. yum!)

so, we're in the same boat right now. I haven't run since sunday (an attempt to let the broken toe heal) and I'm in SUCH a bad mood. I've biked, walked, everything else but I'm just in a total funk. I'm SO FRUSTRATED that I can't run that it's eating away at me. I'm not remotely pleasant to be around. yesterday, after walking a few miles on campus (in the snow and ice) and my toe was THROBBING, I sat down in class to eat my lunch. the professor told me that she doesn't like food in her classroom. I got so disproportionately angry that I verbally ripped her face off and then strongly considered dropping the class because I was SO annoyed and in so much pain and I just wanted my freaking cottage cheese!! ....I need to run soon. before I start hitting people.

I am seriously so tempted to unlease the Hungry Runner Girl on him...but be warned, he was seriously, no joke THE world's biggest man at one point. One of those body builder types. Totally useless if you ask me. Yes you are strong but can you out run that lion that wants to eat you? Because I am sure his claws and teeth will tear through your muscles in about 1/10 of a second. But, hey, you got big muscles....

Hope your calf is feeling better! I love these cookies from the grocery store - I think they are sugar cookies but they have icing/frosting stuff on them and have like 8g of fat each and i just love them. They come 10 to a box and I have to hide the box otherwise I would eat all 10 (instead of 5) in one sitting!

Wow, you are a popular lady! I was happy to reach 50 followers yesterday and you're at 500! Awesome sauce! (Love that expression.)

I'm not a cookie person, but I would say snickerdoodles or oatmeal raisin would be my choice. And Mrs. Fields huge plain sugar cookies are yummy too.

I had to take two months off from running in 2010 and I was sooooo grumpy! Also had a terrible job that ate at my soul, but it was funny once I started running again because two of my nurses were like "Oh, did you start running again? You seem happier." CRAZY I TELL YOU.

And YEAH I get nervous and grumpy when I dont run. If I get arthroscopy on my knee, I cant run for a month and so I am actually contimplating not doing it and living life as a gimp to as to preserve my sanity. And to my husband from running away from a nonrunning podperson version of his wife.

Yes. =) During the fall whenever I didnt run, it affected my mood for that day, which probably explains why I have been in a funk for most of the winter as my running has spiraled down to a piddly 6 miles a week!
And I LOVE a good soft cookie, not too picky on the kind, love snickerdoodles, chocolate chips with finely diced walnuts and those little PB cookies with the hershey's kiss in the middle. Sweet Goodness. =)

I DO get grumpy and irritable when I don't get my run on! I've been talking about that. My body craves a good run.

I think snickerdoodles just may be my favorite cookie. As a ice cream shake sounds amazing. Oatmeal cookies would make a good one too. Mmm.......

Girl, just remember it is ok to be grumpy! Sometimes others, or even ourselves get so used to the positive/upbeat person they forget we are allowed other emotions too. If you are grumpy....allow yourself to be grumpy, for you it'll probably pass in a couple of hours anyways. :)

Happy 500, wow, and you still know how to make us each feel special. thanks.

I get SO grumpy when I can't run. Like this week, since I've newly injured my achilles (BOO). I get so moody and sad until I re-evaluate things and realize it's not the end of the world. Still waiting to get to that point now though...

I love cookies with chocolate and peanut butter in them. ANd snickerdoodles, of course :)

500!!!!! Woot ! That's because you rock! I look forward to your blog everyday.

I love soft cookies with icing, white chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter cookies. I don't like chocolate chip.

I am grumpy, irritable and blue without running (spinning will do). Thus, I am grumpy right now and can't wait for my next run (which will require me to wake up by 4:40 am).

if i have a run planned, and it doesnt/can happen, i feel a little off and tend to be more subdued. i hope this doesnt come off creepy, but my right calf has been driving me nuts, too. i'm taking it easy, doing other work-outs and icing and such...definitely nice to sweat, no matter what, but wouldnt mind a good 'ol run.

white choc macadamia nut w/ cranberries. or double choc chip.

yes! I definitely get grumpy and don't feel like myself if I don't work out or run. But my running buddy is THE WORST! When I talked to him on days we didn't have training runs for our marathon he was seriously so cranky and I told him he needed to run stat. Now he's only run a few times since Dec. 11th...needless to say I avoid him as much as possible until he's ready to run again. :)

Oh I love so many cookies, but probably peanut butter chocolate chip (those ones you break and bake...yum!!).

Congrats on over 500 followers! It's b/c your blog is so fun!! That's hilarious what Billy said...sounds like something my husband will do when I reach my 30. :) OH wait, he doesn't follow me so he can't do that! :)
