Softball Magic

First of all, if anyone leaks who won the Biggest Loser I will hurt you.

I am going straight home, getting in PJ's and watching the season finale while finishing off my crescent rolls from last night with a side of two juicy pears.

Workout:

-Trudging through the snow to get to the gym.

-45 Minute Spin Class

-15 Minutes Stair Climber.

(I also teach spin later on tonight)

I have something special for you........

Are you sick of spending half of your life savings on running gear?

The shoes, the foam rollers, the socks, headphones, sexy spandex outfits.

Well, do I have the answer for you.  I am going to save you a lot of mula on a stretching device.

IMG_2763.JPG

I know, my outfit is hot.  You can feel bad for Billy but he knew what he was getting himself into when he married me.

Flannel pajamas are the latest rage right now in case you didn't know, especially when they are floods and you have dirty sock on.

I learned this trick from my sports therapy buddy.  You can buy a device similar to the softball for 30 bones but she says this does the exact same thing.

Just put the softball on the floor and roll around on it.

She said for my knee issues to sit with one leg on the ground and the other leg propped up.  Put the softball under you bum (the cheek with the leg propped up) and roll around.  You will feel a pressure point big time....it hurts in a good way.  I have also been using it on my hamstrings too..they are a little tight.

For just $14.99, a bag of skittles and the cost of shipping I will send YOU a softball.

-I am not making a profit on this.  All proceeds will go to buying my frozen yogurt for a week.

Do you get/give Christmas PJ's:

-Billy's parents always get us Christmas PJ's and we open them the night before Christmas. They even did this when we were dating, I think they really wanted me in the family or something;)

Did you watch the Biggest Loser Finale:

-Only answer with a yes or no.  Remember if you spoil it for me I will come after you and with my huge biceps, be very afraid.

How many more days of work do you have?

-TWO BABY and yes I am bragging here.

I use a tennis ball :)

~My family uses a tennis ball just like you uses your softball. It works well on feet, too, if you end up with plantar fascitits. (That's probably spelled wrong, but oh well...)
~Sometimes I still get Christmas PJs, but not every year anymore.
~I saw part of it, I happened to catch the end after getting home from visiting a friend in the hospital. I mentioned it in my blog, but no spoilers, just a cute screencap from the Wikipedia page :D
~None scheduled, but I'm on call until break starts.

And I agree--flannel PJs are the latest thing in style these days ;) Have a great evening, enjoy the finale!!

haha! my mom keeps trying to do the (matching) christmas pj's thing, but this year I told her it wasn't worth it. I don't wear pajamas, I wear Mike's sweats that are 10 million sizes to big for me or I wear what I'm going to run in the next morning (that much easier to roll out of bed and get moving)...and you thought Billy had it bad.

I have two more days of work too!! WOOO!

of course we do christmas pj's. doesn't everyone???

didn't watch BL - but I know the winner...picture me zipping my lips and throwing the key...

a mom's job is never done... ;) no days off for me...so excited for the kids to be out of school tho - ask me on tuesday if i still feel the same. :0

Your flannel pj's are hot! And we get/give them each year too. It's the Christmas Even gift that our family opens. I think my kids secretly hope it's something else each year... but no such luck.
A smaller hard ball works well on feet too. But I like your softball trick. I bet it would work wonders on a piraformis!
Snow again, huh. I trudged through it this morning as well. It's fun avoiding the traffic and snowplows!
Can't wait for the spinning list from tonight!

We are going to watch The Biggest Loser tonight. We had our staff Christmas Party last night, so I don't know the winner! I buy my kiddos, my husband, and myself new Christmas Jammies and we open them on Christmas Eve. We change into them, sprinkle the reindeer food in the yard and on the roof and put out the goodies for Santa! I may go change into my pjs just to watch the finale!

I HOPE You Tivo'd the episode. If not, make billy go to the NBC website to load the full episode for you. I mistakenly went to the NBC website and it totally GAVE AWAY THE WINNER before I could click the link to full episodes. UGH!! AND then the episode wasn't even up yet.

Yep. Fam knows me well. Got 3 pairs for my bday. The minute I step in the door, they are ON.

Did you watch the Biggest Loser Finale:
Spoiler alert: no.

How many more days of work do you have?
However many I want. Joy of working for me-self!

About the ball thing--I am a massage therapist, inactive right now, and we do swear by balls. Golf, tennis, ping. You name it, roll on it. Hurts so good.

Thanks for chattin earlier :)

You know, I used to do that with a tennis ball but I've totally gotten out of the habit - gotta reintegrate it into the routine!!

Other than some exams I'm grading from home, I've got days left of work here - In fact, I technically have "off" until Martin Luther King Day ;)

Have a great Christmas and enjoy your break from school. I am a nurse at a surgical center and this is our busy time of the year.

Ohh good idea - I was just wondering what I would do without my foam roller when I visit the fam next week. My dad has tons of baseballs/softballs lying around! I couldn't get into the biggest loser this time around, for some reason. Meh, this semester has fried my brain. 2 effing days of work left till next year!

I'm getting Billy a robe this year! And slippers, too. Love the idea of Christmas pajamas. I didn't watch the finale but I found our who won earlier today on accident. Obviously I won't tell you here. :)

Love the softball idea, I need to try that! I spend a ton on running loot, I find it always fits right and gets used, more than I can say for real clothes. My parents have always done Christmas pjs that we opened on Christmas eve, I still get them now.

I won't spoil it, but I loved seeing some of the transformations of people I had forgotten about on Biggest Loser.

I have been doing that exact same thing on my foam roller. It works decently well, probably not as painful as that softball! I have no watched biggest loser yet, and wont be till tomorrow night, so I hope I don't find out who won or I will be angry!

Oh and I had WAYYY to much chicken wing dip at lunch! Like too much that I wasn't even hungry for dinner after running 2 miles and ellipticaling for 45 minutes plus doing weights.

I have 5 days of work left...boo. But i am taking friday off to go look at Wedding dresses...shhh don't tell anyone cause I am playing hookie from work!

- I don't watch Biggest Loser, so no worries of spoilers from me.
- I have a pair of gingerbread man pajama pants that I got for Christmas several years go that I absolutely love. Maintenance men came by one morning when I was still in them... slightly embarrassing...
- I have one final tomorrow and I'm DONE with school, then I work Friday and Saturday before I'm off for Christmas.

I had banned myself of all social networking sites until I watched Biggest Loser this morning. There is nothing worse than a ruined surprise!

TOMORROW is my last exam. Hallelujah!

I'm so glad your package arrived safe and sound! I hope you enjoy it! :) You deserve it, girl!

Janae! Your spin class was fun tonight! It was the perfect mix of good music, fun people, and sweat dripping in my eye balls and all over the bike. TMI? Anyways I have two random questions for you because i know you love them.

1. Do you ever notice people making weird/funny faces while you're teaching spin classes? I sometimes catch myself snarling or something similar to that. I always wonder if the instructor can see me.

2. what is your position on caffeine in regards to fitness? Helpful? Hurtful?

Thanks and see you saturday!

I have my owl flannel jammies on now as I blog!

We used to get pajamas every Christmas Eve when I was a kid, but sadly, this had ended now that I'm old and not a kid anymore. And I'm too darn busy to buy jammies for myself for Christmas Eve.

I'm not Biggest Loser Fan but we do watch Survivor religiously. We get pjs for our kids every year so someday they will be the 24 year old telling everyone how their parents still get them pjs for Christmas. Thanks for the ball tip. oh, and I love the Mizunos...I will never go back...they feel so good!

Ha! I use a lacrosse ball!

I usually give my kids Christmas jammies and one year I got myself some and wrapped them up and put them under the tree. Oh, and once my husband got me some!

We don't have t.v. so no Biggest Loser for me.

And my work is never-ending... once school is out, my work totally kicks into HIGH gear. lol Enjoy your time off!

I found your blog from SR- it's great! I use a lacrosse ball to roll out on, so much cheaper and better than all that stuff they try and sell runners. I saw the BL finale, and the previews for season 10 are crazy!

Jealous! I'm a teacher too and I have to work right up until Christmas Eve! Great trick with the softball and you are so dedicated to trudge through the snow. I turned my alarm off this morning :(

I knew of this trick, and if its really tender, use a tennis ball, it has a little more give and softer and wont hurt as much if your really sore

you should throw in a baseball and make a "deluxe package" for $19.99

- Yep, I get pj's for xmas, I never wear them, maybe a couple times a year

- Yep, I watched it, you better have watched it, I am blogging about it tomorrow

- I have 7 days, then off the rest of the year, AND my parents are flying in to visit me for Xmas!!! Little added bonus

I found your blog because we are on Team Snowflake, I am glad I did, your blog is rising fast as one of my favorites to read

We have half a day today and half a day tomorrow - I am WAY more excited than my 7th graders!!! They have no idea how much teachers look forward to Christmas break!

My husband usually gets me new pj pants for Christmas - I love them! Last year he bought one of those cute pj sets from Target (thermal top, pants, and shorts); he thought he bought an XS, but when I opened them they were XL. It was hysterical!

Saw the BL finale and it doesn't disappoint. Now hearing the next season is Jillian's last and then she will begin a new TV adventure in 2012.

No jammies (for the adults anyway) for Christmas. Mine are in terrible shape, so maybe this would be a could tradition to adopt?

Nice idea with the softball! I have used a tennis ball to roll under my feet many times.

PJS: I have received flannel pj pants for Christmas before, but not reguluarly.

TBL: no

Work: 5.5 days to go (well, 4.5 for me- I took today off to get some stuff done!!)
