Zach Morris and Crescent Rolls

Craving carbs.  Easy fix.  Make these crescent rolls.

IMG_2750.JPG

As I was making these (for Billy obviously, I don't really like warm, doughy, carbolicious items).....the leftover cinnamon sugar from my snickerdoodles I made on Sunday was staring at me.

I may have filled three of the croissants with it.  I think I ate all three of them before Billy realized I even made a cinnamon-sugar version.

And yes there was shortening in the recipe.  You only live once and I refuse to be on my death bed when I am 103 years old thinking, "why didn't I enjoy my carbohydrates to their fullest during my running days?"

IMG_2761.JPG

We made some spaghetti and a spinach salad to go with our rolls.  I am pretty sure the bread item of the meal should be the main course and everything else belongs on the side.

Billy always makes the noodles.  He is so much better at it....mine always end up too mushy or they stick together like glue.

Favorite Carb...ready, set, go!

-Definitely my homemade cinnamon sugar braided bread or anything shaped as a cookie.

Who was your biggest TV/Movie Star crush when you were growing up?

-Uncle Jessie (Full House)

-Zach Morris and AC Slater (Saved by the Bell)

-Kurt Cameron (Growing Pains)

-Corey (Meets World)

Mine was Kirk Cameron 100%! I totally thought I was going to marry him! I posted about this before, but it was funny, I used to pray for him! Now I have his testimony downloaded on my computer :)

UNG! I love carbs:
-Pasta (I worked for a while in an italian restaurant. it sucked but the food was great!)
-Fresh baked bread
-Waffles
-Sticky buns

I was in love with Leo, Titantic era. Ahhh, he was so dreamy. Being a child of the 90's it was appropriate to be crushing on grungy boys from grungy bands, or Billy Joe from Green Day with his excess eyeliner. You get the picture.

I wanted to marry Kevin Arnold (pretty much up until I married Brent, come to think of it).

And I wanted to make out with Jordan Catalano.

Favorite carbs: Chips and cheese dip. I never buy the stuff to make cheese dip because I know it'll be a disaster, but when we go to Mexican restaurants and someone orders it for the table... I turn into this crazy monster person who is desperate to get as much cheese dip in her mouth as possible. That may be a little bit of an exaggeration, but that's what it feels like.

TV crush: Will Smith on Fresh Prince of Bellaire!!

My favorite carbs are definitely breads. Bread is amazing. :)

And I definitely had a crush on Zack Morris, too. Are you ready for THIS though? When I was younger, like 7 or 8, I had a crush on Simon from Alvin and the Chipmunks. I kid you not. :)

Crush was definitely Alyssa Milano on Who's the Boss?

Favorite carbs are basically any kind of bread.

Crush, ha, Charlie Slater from Diagnosis Murder... and Shawn on Boy Meets World.

I agree entirely that bread should be the main course!

Kirk Cameron was my first crush but I really liked John on Chips. I know he wasn't a teenager or anything but I thought he was HOT!

Cinnamon Sugar makes everything better! I love drowning my popcorn in it, even tho popcorn is not a carb... I loved Zach Morris and Uncle Jesse too, but I think Andrew Keegan was the reason alllll of my allowance went to Teen Beat magazine...

Yummm! I love carbs! Millet bread is my favorite. :) Cookies come in second. Bagels are awesome..even better than doughnuts! I need to get my hands on some good gluten-free bagels, or make some!

Favorite tv star crush: Uncle Jessie and Kurt Cameron from Growing Pains! We are one in the same!

Will Smith as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I'm still in love with Will Smith, but then he was lanky and endearing. Swoon.

I love pasta and chicken wing dip (is that a carb?) I just checked, the dip only has 20g of carbs for 1/3 of a cup. Hmmm well if I eat all of it then thats a lot of carbs. Oh how I love carbs.

I think I had a crush on Corey from Boy meets world, but I can't remember.

I honestly dont know if I could narrow it down to ONE carb... oats, sweet potatos, cereal, squash, BREAD. OMG BREAD! ahahahaha

Ummmm my biggest crush was mike modano, rookie year. If that doesnt make me any more canadian that I was drooling over a hockey player (who is STILL hot) and not NKOTB I dont know what does!

Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Seriously. I went to see a movie of his with my friends, and we screamed during the opening credits when his name came up. I am not even kidding.

Oh, how I love some fresh, warm, doughy bread! Add cinnamon and sugar and I'm in heaven! I may make those crescent rolls tonight.

Definitely Uncle Jesse, Zach, Slater, and Shawn from Boy Meets World. I also loved all the boys from Backstreet Boys and NSync.

Christmas break officially starts this weekend, and next week I plan on watching SBTB every morning. :)

You are so funny, and thanks for the compliment - hahahahaahaha..

OMG I'm so craving garlic bread, and those buns haven't helped. Regardless if they don't have anything to do with garlic.

L.O.V.E Carbs...maybe a little too much :)

Definitely would choose Uncle Jesse. There is nothing like a man with a mullet singing in a band and wearing leather pants.

Hands down I would kiss my Teen Beat poster of Kurt Cameron when I was in my tweens for sure!

Yummy Carbs!!!! The whole reason behind me running as well. I am going to have to admit in public I am a Carb adict. Yes I am getting help for it as well.

Those look delish! I love cinnamony sugary things. My favorite sweet carbs...probably cookies or brownies and I'm a big fan of crusty/seedy bread and also pasta - I used to think Mexican was my favorite food but Italian has taken a giant leap in that category. Still too close to pick a fave.

At December 15, 2010 at 2:04 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yummy, I too love carbs! Somedays that's all I eat, and I know I shouldn't!
Cereal, pasta and crackers are my downfall.

Kurt Cameron was my crush too. And the boys of NKOTB!

2 things.

1) My childhood T.V. crush includes all of the ones you listed (minus Kirk Cameron, I couldn't get on bored with that), as well as Steve Urkel of Family Matters. Not so much the character, but I remember at one point in like 4th grade I realized Jaleel White (the actor who plays Urkel) was hot. And it was over, I've loved nerds ever since.

2) When you said your noodles stick together like glue I immediately sang, "whoa oh whoa oh, stuck like glue, you and me baby we stuck like glue." I love Sugarland even if Jennifer Nettles is allegedly a homewrecker.

As a youngster, Peter Brady on t.v. and Robert Redford in the movies. I am WAY over 40. lol
