Babysitting, 5 lb. Salad and of course Fro-yo.

Say a little prayer for these children.  Billy and I are on our way to there house to babysit so that my sister and her husband can have a little get-away and go to dinner and stay at a fancy hotel.

IMG_0433.jpg

I am scared for them.  Look forward to lots of pictures of us playing hide and go seek, baking cookies and staying up WAY past their (and my own) bed time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's talk about today thus far.

Woke up at seven and pounded out 13.1 on the treadmill (while watching Biggest Loser) with a 7:15 pace and I felt good.  It has been a little while since I had a run that REALLY felt good and I finally felt like myself this morning, hallelujah!

I foam rolled, chocolate milked, and changed into my second workout outfit to teach spin.  Afterwards I even did a lil' bit of weights.  It was a party.

BILLY RAN 10 MILES.......SERIOUSLY, I DIED.  He is passing me up and lookin' good doing it.

We came home and hurried and got ready and lunch was eaten on the road.

IMG_4524.jpg

I ate that entire family-sized serving bowl of salad filled with spinach, tuna, scrambled eggs (I know I am weird), broccoli, tomatoes and avocado.  Stomachs are the size of our fists.....yeah not mine.

We ran a few errands, including going to  Runner's Corner (I could stay there all day) and then headed over to my parent's house to watch the BYU Basketball game.

Somehow my mom and I sneaked out during the game and went and got ice cream and then watched 'Everybody Loves Raymond' at home.

IMG_4526.JPG

I would have to say it was my ideal Saturday thus far.

Now off to poopy diapers, sticky fingers and an awesome time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

In reference to the picture at the top of my neices and nephews in their Halloween costumes last year.....What was your favorite Halloween costume when you were growing up?

-A pumpkin and in high school I dressed up as an injured cat (a cat with tire marks drawn across me, crutches and a cone collar, I will have to post a picture sometime, it was awesome)

How often do you eat salads?

-Along with all the candy and ice cream I crave, I also CRAVE a ginormous salad at least once a day.  There is something about chomping on fiberlicious, nutrilitious foods that makes my heart happy.

Do you like 'Everybody Loves Raymond'?

-HILARIOUS.  My favorite has to be KING OF QUEENS....Kevin James makes me laugh so hard.

What percentage of your runs do you feel like are GOOD and your body and mind feels awesome?

-I can't even answer this question.....some weeks it feels like 99% and some weeks it feels like 2%.....I have a strong feeling that this next week is going to be 99% awesome sauce runs!!

i love everybody loves raymond!!! such a funny show... friends, will & grace, that 70s show are also some of my top sitcoms from back in the day ; )

what do u think about the latest news story about the BYU basketball player being suspended??

icecream and massive salads do make a perfect day in my book! i have such a huge sweet tooth but i also adore salads...probably have 1 a day i bet!

Haha, I love that huge salad! It looks yum. So does the ice cream... Hah!

My favorite Halloween costume? I don't know. I wasn't allowed to celebrate as a kid, and now I always have to work or something on Halloween. :(

uh oh...i think i'm gonna need to go get froyo now! that looks wayyy too good.
also, i must say that i think you are really sweet for encouraging your hubby in his newly found love for running. my boyfriend is like mr allstar althete so when he started running a little with me, i got really competitive and whiny. i told him that running was MY thing. haha. i'm a child.
way to be mature :)

0.0001%. Basically, my runs hit the fan when I take my second step. For reals. I'm really sucking it up. I'm convinced I'm doing something wrong, but I need someone to tell me what it is. :(

Salads are my life! Everything is better on top of salad! Actually in Key West you can get a palm heart salad that is topped with pistachio ice cream. Total classic down there. Which may be where I draw the line... hmmm.. Everybody loves Raymond! It's in the name right?
Umm I'm so early in my running career, 2 months now, that about 90% kind of suck. But there is this space in between the sucking, that lasts like 5 minutes of the run, where I'm breathing hard and making the muscles work... well that's the part that is awesome! I try to make it last each run, not there yet. But I keep trying!

Omgggg they are so cute!! Slash I am considering signing up for my first half aren't you proud??

Double slash it's fine I eat at least one or two giant salads a day:) And I am pretty sure my stomach is like Mary Poppins bottomless bag that holds everything in her house but never gets bigger. Absolutely magical:)

Oh I eat at least one salad a day haha. I totally hear you on the craving veggies... admittedly sometimes I think I overdo it and my stomach goes a little nuts from toooo much fiber but it's just so refreshing to bite into crisp cool veggies!!!

I dunno what my favorite costume was, actually... I did a cute cowgirl one last year :) but idk if that was my FAVORITE. Good question. Hmm...

Last week I got to run on a treadmill next to a cast member from the biggest loser. It started out to be my worst run, but by the time it was over, and I got the courage to talk to him, it was an awesome run. Awesome runs are about 75%.

I love the King of Queens. One of my favorite episodes was when Doug installed a stripper pole in his and Carrie's bedroom. I wish I knew the name of that episode so I could watch it again. I nearly died when Doug was "working the pole."

King of Queens is pure genius. I love Kevin James but Carrie's role is hilarious to me too. And Arthur...oh Arthur. Sometimes my sister and I will go around saying "Lies!!!" like he says it and just laugh and laugh.

I eat a salad everyday, too. I crave a big one with a million ingredients everyday for lunch. Hmmm - Halloween costumes. I can't really remember my favorite from being a kid (I guess I really AM old), but last year Billy and I dressed as a bird & a bee. :)

I was a super dork and in 3rd grade I made a DIY costume inspired by the American Girl Magazine. I was a picnic table...no joke. We cut a hole in a table cloth and used wooden dowels to hold it up and glued plastic food all over me.

I eat a salad *almost* everyday for lunch. I crave the crunchy veggies and love how different every salad can be!!!

I have to admit that I've never seen Everybody Loves Raymond. Or King of Queens. How is it that I watch so much tv and I've never watched either?

I feel like I usually have an awesome run a week and the rest range from meh to awful. It's worth it for the once a week awesome, though.

Holy Moly girl you ran a Half Marathon at a crazy insane race pace on a treadmill! I am pretty much super jealous right now. You're awesome and that salad looks SO good! Have fun (and good luck) babysitting those adorable little kids :-)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE their Oz themed costumes! I love the Wizard of Oz so much, it's required if you live in Kansas. The half marathon I am currently training for I chose because of it's Oz theme! (I know most people would chose because of location or route, but not me! I am all about the cute theme-ness of it!)

I have been so jealous of your fro-yo, and am finally going to be able to experience some of my own next weekend, I am taking my SIL to her first 5K ever for her birthday (I know totally get the best SIL of the year award over here) and the city the 5K is in has a fro-yo place, so we are treating ourselves afterwards!

And I scramble eggs for my salads too if I don't have time to boil them, it's yummy!

I'm glad your run felt great!!

My favorite costume as a kid was rainbow bright, it was the coolest costume ever. I was also an egyptian like 10 times.

I rarely eat salads. I think I prefer my veggies cooked.

I ran 10 this am and have eaten like a horse all day! God help me!

Have fun babysitting! I'll bet they LOVE it when you come over :) So nice for your sis and her hubby to get an overnight... I am jealous!

I think that salad sounds AWESOME! I would eat it and be begging for more. Yes, even serving-bowl-sized. I only eat salad a few times a week but would like to more... I am just lazy about putting it all together.

Halloween is just about my favoritest. Once I was a Christmas tree ... I wore brown pants and turtleneck and wrapped that pine-y garland stuff all over myself and then put on a couple strings of lights... battery-powered... and a big star on my head. This past year my kids were The Blob, a peacock (most beautiful ever), and Harry Potter. Pics on my blog.

You know... I have never seen "Everybody loves Raymond."

I usually feel pretty good... but I have a sneaking suspicion that is because I don't train all that hard :P

I crave salad once a day for sure....but right now it seems like twice. salad for a meal at lunch, and then some sort of side salad at dinner.

Last week I went through a running felt sluggish every time, then last night after I had one of those run forever awesome runs. i think in a month 5 days feel bad, and 5 days feel incredible, and the rest are just a happy run for for me.

On a side, I have been having roasted broccoli a ton because of you. Thanks for posting all your favorite foods because it has helped me mix up some flavors and i love getting out of my food ruts.

Have fun tonight!

Sounds like an awesome Saturday!!
I was a princess at least 4 times for halloween, creative I know. My mom once dressed my up as a coke can and another time as a hershey's kiss. I had the little cap with the flag and everything! =P

My mom used to make all of our costumes herself. When I was 2, my brother, sisters and I did Wizard of Oz! My oldest sis was Dorothy, twin bro/sis were the scarecrow and lion, and I was the tin man!

Loooove giant salads - your's sounds amazing! And I put scrambled eggs on mine, too! Much quicker than waiting for hard boiled ones.

haha, I LOVE King Of Queens! That show kills me, I end up laughing out loud every episode! hehe.

Anyhoo - a side note, I used to live in Glens Falls, NY - the town Jimmer Fredette is from. So even though BYU is not my team (Syracuse fan here), I will be cheering for them to do well this year! As long as they don't play SU, in which case they are going down. haha!
Great job on the miles this morning!

I eat salads alllll the time. I love me some bleu cheese crumbiiiies!

I love all of those shows, along with Seinfeld and all of the classics.

My runs used to feel okay sometimes, but lately (minus last week) they've felt so much better. i re-found my love for running.

i had fro-yo yesterday :) birthday cake, peanut buttah, and tart with pb sauce, graham crackers, kiwi, and strawberries... AND SPRINKLES nom.

My mom made me lame costumes except for Minnie Mouse. I eat salads pretty much every day. I've seen Everyone Loves Raymond once on a plane and I use to watch King of Queens. In the last 3-4 week (achilles injury time) 90% of my runs were bad. The last long run I did was actually not too bad. My 2 mile test run on tues will hopefully be awesome!

Is it sad I just (as in 2 weeks ago) discovered I love eating a huge salad for dinner? I think I've had one every night since that discovery.
As for runs, I think about 40% are awesome and 60% not so much...but they make that 40% even more awesome...so I it's worth it in the end.

By the way Janae, totally off topic...I have been telling everyone I know about your Rice Jar experiment and I think it's amazing!! Can you talk a little bit more about it?

Have an awesome day, sweetie!!

Great job on the run. Love those feel good runs:) YAY Billy! He needs a race so we can have some awkward race photos to make fun of! He should know, you're not considered a runner until you earn that title through published awkward race photos. Kidding-great job!

I eat a LOAD of salad and in about that same size bowl. Love Raymond AND King of Queens. I always watch reruns in bed.

My favorite halloween costume was when I was 6 and dressed up as the red power ranger (yes he was the boy...they didn't have the PINK ranger so instead of getting yellow, which was the other girl, I decided to get red and just tell anyone who asked why I was the red one that they were blind and must not be able to see bc the suit was clearly pink....seriously I just pretended it was pink...) Such a strange child.

I LOVE King of Queens...I agree Kevin James is hysterical I always die laughing and I love Two and a Half Men too even if Charlie Sheen is crazy these days...that show cracks me up.

I am SUCH a huge fan of ginormous salads. I am with you that my stomach is way bigger than a fist, so I like to eat mass quantities of food to fill it. However, so that it does not fill ME out, I turn to salads. Unfortunately, it's a lot harder to find ginormous and healthy salads at restaurants than it is to make them myself. I miss living at home and getting to cook! I know people think it is so awesome how much I travel but having to eat restaurant food all the time is really not as fun as it sounds.
