Confessions Part II

I have some things to confess to you.  Hopefully you will still be my best friends and maybe even share some of your confessions with me.  You can read (if you dare) my first round of confessions here. I am warning you.  Read at your own risk.

1-I don't think I should be allowed to have children until I can successfully take care of a dog for a year without loosing it, feeding it properly and bathing it regularly.  It wouldn't be fair to the child.

IMG_1433.JPG

1a. My sister never asked me to babysit her kids until I was married to Billy.  I don't know to be offended that she doesn't trust me or grateful that I married someone that is responsible.

2. Making weird faces for the camera isn't something I started doing for the sake of the blog.  It is more natural for me to have a creepy look on for the camera than to smile.  At least Billy does it too.  PS yes those crazy long eyelashes are extensions and I guess I should confess that pre-marriage I spent 2/7ths of my salary on them each month.

Photo circa 2007

3.  Burgers are delicious and I will continue eating them until I am old and gray.  Even though I act like I am going to one of Billy's favorite burger joints for him and his happiness, secretly, I want a big ol' burger and fries sometimes......there is always tomorrow to eat broccoli.

IMG_0746.JPG

4. I got my first running side stitch yesterday, it still hurts.  I am a baby and it made me cry and lose my gatorade.  Pointing to where it hurts.

photo-22.jpg

5. I really enjoy making my brother-in-laws feel uncomfortable by doing things like picking my nose in public.

IMG_0997.JPG

6. I break out into weird dancing moves everywhere we go.  If there is music, I will dance and no one can stop me. (Mexican Hat Dance below)

IMG_1061 33.jpg

7.  Billy catches me red-handed all of the time........whether it is chocolate all over my fingers, me in a coma with an empty Costco sized bag of skittles on my stomach or trying to sneak eat a sandwich during church without anyone else noticing or getting jelly on my dress.

IMG_1650.JPG

What is something that you used to spend a lot of money on but now realize that you could have saved that and bought more food or running shoes with it instead?

-Eyelash extensions, jeans that cost more than my couch and 24 diet cokes a day.

Do you get cramps/side stiches when you run?

-This is the first time ever and it won't go away.  Maybe it is appendicitis or something.....

Time for some confessions about YOU!!!

Ha! Look at that! #1. I get on here for 10 minutes and i"m lucky enough to be #1 on here. Wooo hooo...just like old times before you became miss Famous bloggy person. I confess that I ate a large amount of pizza yesterday before my repeat 400's and I felt not so energized. I was just thinking about the money I spent on getting my hair done...the same amount I'd pay for a new pair of running shoes!! ON my way home last night I called my husband about this exact thing. How funny that you mention it. Never again will I spent $100 to get my hair highlighted when I can just be natural and buy good running shoes. Well, maybe on occasion.

I own a lot of clothes Ive never worn. Such a waste! I used to fluctuate in sizes a lot, and now I cant even wear most of it. But I refuse to give it away because its BRAND NEW! I buy a lot less new clothes now that I am married (and own a house!)

What?! And I still get #2?! What is up with your readers today Janae? I thought surely that by the time I was done with #2 that I would be like 20 down on the comment list. Good grief, what's going on?

Side cramps stink! i hope you are feeling better! The one thing I will never give up is Chinese food - I know it's not good for me, but at least once a month I have to have some :)

I can't believe I'm going to admit this...but when I was young (and stupid) and lazy, and something would get stuck on a pan..I'd just throw it away and buy another one. This happened a lot :) Once I had a sink full of dishes and people were coming over. I didnt want to mess with them so I chunked them all.

Funny, I'm super frugal now and never leave a dish in the sink.(ok, the no dishes in sink thing is a lie hehe)

I used to spend way too much money on clothes. Ok I probably still spend too much money on clothes, but its less. And i've finally learned to only buy stuff i'll really love and wear a lot. and not just because stuff is on sale.

I sing sometimes when I run, its really weird and creeps people out, but sometimes i'm totally just feeling a song.

I could save a fortune if I wasnt so addicted to chewing gum... and drinking coffee.

Hm, some confessions. I'm a clean freak. I make weird faces all the time too. I'm a completely outgoing when I'm with friends and I'm the shy-est girl in the world at work. This week, I left the house with slippers on. Oh and the latest one, I had a bad self tanning experience and now my hand looks well, bright orange haha.

At March 3, 2011 at 4:35 PM , Blogger Gracie said...

Man, I used to get side stitches so badly! Somehow I grew out of it.
I never spend money on anything so I can't join in on the fun today. Boo. I'm really cheap ("frugal").

At March 3, 2011 at 4:36 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Oh girl. I got a side stick once and I tried to do that thing to rub it out and tripped and fell on the dirt trail. (Of course the neighboring schools male xc team was practicing too...) and I had to run with grass and dirt stained hot pink spandex for another 6 miles.

Win.

At March 3, 2011 at 4:37 PM , Blogger Angie said...

Confession: I used to spend a TON of money of tanning. I would buy the expensive tanning sessions and like $100 bottle of lotion. Haha! I don't do that anymore though!

I don't get side stitches very often. They say you get them when you're dehydrated.

At March 3, 2011 at 4:38 PM , Blogger Alice said...

spent a ridiculous amount on diet soda. if i didnt purchase it every i would have so much money to fritter on more fun necessary or luxury items like speciality nut butters!

I used to have a terrible habit of buying clothes and never wearing them, therefore making my closet crowded with clothes that still had tags dangling on them. I also have an addiction to flip/flops (known as slippers here in Hawaii) but still only wear the same 2 pairs over and over again.

No side stitches unless I drink a lot right before a run.

At March 3, 2011 at 4:38 PM , Blogger Laurie said...

I get side cramps every so often and they hurt! Sometimes they'll stick around for a few days making it really difficult to run. I've wasted a lot of money on fingernail polish in my day trying to find that exact right color. I seriously have a whole drawer full of basically the same color but still none of them are "the right color"... and they're all really old! Tricia's killing me with the dishes in the sink thing... ha ha

I used to get wicked bad stitches but now (when I feel one coming on) I just raise my arms for 5 seconds or so. It works, I swear!
I used to spend a butt load of monney on clothing. Not NO MORE SUCKAHS. Unless it if for work or running.
I also used to spend a lot on coffee- now I make my own. I still spend a lot on occasional vacations (need em) really good beer (need it) and horse/running stuff (work. and ummm, need it!!??)

At March 3, 2011 at 4:42 PM , Blogger Emily said...

I own 5 pair of jeans that are no less than $200 each. It blows my mind when I think how much money I've spent. But on the other hand, I still wear every pair all the time, even the 1st pair I bought 6 years ago because the quality is THAT good. Frugality is my middle name now though.

And I get side stitches all the time, but am not the runner like you. Or even a runner. Kinda hate doing it. Sprinting was always my thing. You can have the distance. haha =)

Ever had one from crying so much? I remember I was 10, at summer camp, and had a huge crush on a boy, things didn't go my way, and I cried and cried to the point of a side ache, but I kept calling it 'cramps' (not knowing what those really were at the time) the counselors were all confused and didn't know how to handle it until they figures out what they really were. Silly kids. ((sorry for the novella)

I'm a newbie runner, & I still get tons of side cramps. I'm not sure what causes them for me, but my guess is eating/drinking too soon before I run.
And, I could outfit an army with all of my clothes. I used to spend a RIDICULOUS amount of money shopping, but I'm working on it. :-)

I don't usually cramp up or get side stitches...
Confessions:
I have a super dry sense of humor and enjoy seeing how much crap I can say and have someone believe me...=P
I also wander into the kitchen at all times to swipe some random yummy snack.
I have a secret cookie stash. =D

I used to spend WAY too much money on acrylic nails... I still love them but now I use the money to put towards registration fees for all of my races! (and new running gear, and well everything else that I seem to find a reason to buy!)

I get HORRIBLE side aches, I am not too sure why, but without fail I get one every time I run.

I will confess that I do have a running accessory addiction. My husband fears going to a store with me because I will always find a new shirt, or shoes, or earbuds, or anything I need!!!

At March 3, 2011 at 4:56 PM , Blogger Ashley said...

I spend a lot of money on running. This past weekend, I was getting dressed to run and Husband was doing bills. He looked up and said 'I hope you have a REALLY good run.' Why? Because our credit card reflected 3 pairs of running shoes, 3 race entries, 2 knee therapy appointments, and a Sports Chalet bill. Ooops! In all fairness, he runs too! Half of that was his...or almost half.

Confession:
I went to court yesterday afternoon (I'm a lawyer) and never went back to the office. I snuck into Panera and read a book for an hour. It was WONDERFUL. :)

When my husband and I were dating, we spent wayyyyyy too much money eating out. It took us a few years to realize that when you eat out all the time, it's not that special and it's usually not that good, not to mention it makes you fat. Now that we are poor and don't eat out much it really feels like a treat when we do it!

Girl, I also make weird pictures at the camera! I love it! Haha!

I dance to music in my head ALL THE TIME. Everyone says I'm retarded, but I don't care. It's so much fun!! :) I think we would be BFF in real life!!

CONFESSION: I hold my pee until it hurts. Peeing is a waste of time. Sometimes I'm jealous of my daughter cuz she pees wherever she is, without stopping. And I KNOW my son hates me for teaching him to use the bathroom. Oh come on, don't act like you don't feel that way.

Children do NOT equal responsibility. It should. But it doesn't. I mean, I have two kids and still wish I could pee in a diaper. How responsible is that?

I don't get them often anymore. I used to get them all the time when I played college ball. For me I think it has to do with speed. Basketball was all sprints, all the time...with no break. Running long and steady keeps my sides a lot happier :)

Confession: There is nothing weird or confession-worthy about me.

(Now you know full well that is not true.)

Watching Heavy makes me feel good about myself. And makes me want to change my last name to Perfect like the trainer Beverly Perfect on the show. There is nothing intimidating about a trainer with the last name Perfect. At all.

My brother (who runs for his college team) gets awful side stitches all the time if he's not careful - he says they are awful, and sometimes they kill his races! Hope you don't get anymore!

i have gotten side stitches twice and both times I think were because I ate too much and too close to a run...I also think it had to do with not being hydrated enough..

Confessions: it bugs me when things are odd numbers. the tv my dad got me ONLY increases in positive volumes and I secretly think it was made just for me. I will ask someone to change the volume if it is on an odd number. Also...I CANNOT skip dessert...it gives me anxiety. And I literally cannot talk myself out of buying something when I want it...I can delay the amount of time until I get it...but cannot talk myself out of it.

I spend way too much on magazines. More than I care to count. And on organic Annie's mac and cheese.

Be careful with the side stitch - the last time I got a bad one, it was the beginning of a kidney infection!

I love the red Toms in your Mexican Hat Dance pic, very cute! Sorry about your side stitch you may need to hydrate a little more? My crazy confession, I eat an entire box of red only Mike and Ikes, yes a box only filled with reds and pinks, almost every day!

Omg. You are so cute. Its scary how much alike we are. Having worked at Victoria's Secret for the past 5 years, I spend WAY too much money on cute undies. I also pretty much exist soley off of peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Bananas in Australia cost $8-$10 a bunch. I tried to live without but its just not possible. I used to get side stitches if I drank any type of caffine before training- hope you feel better!!!!

I also SPENTTTTTTTTT $$$ on 64 diet cokes a day...maybe you said 24 but i was an addict. i shouldn't talk about it in the past because i only quit yesterday.

Occasional side stitches, especially if I'm trying to keep up with my 8 yr old.
I coveted a certain pair of shoes and saved for a while to buy them. They cost a lot. They are a killer pair of heels and I adore them but they hurt my toes. I wear them to church once or twice a month to remind myself of my stupidity. That was a year ago and I haven't bought another pair of heels since.

Um... it's hard to limit what I spend the most money on to like... three items... cuz' I just spend a lot of money... period! I love "TOM'S!!" I bought my first pair after my daughter received hers. She kept raving how comfy they were...and they ARE. I have the black sequin ones... :)

I love that you can laugh at yourself. At 34 I'm still learning to do that!! Don't change!! Even after you have kids!! You are going to be a great mommy one day!! I already picture you having nightmares while your preggers 'bout losing them...so funny!! :)

Too much dinero$$$ at Sephora and clothes!!

Have a great evening and take care of your side stitch...maybe some chamomile tea w/honey will do the trick...and kisses from your Billy!! :)

Haha your confessions made me laugh!!! I LOVE those red Toms you are wearing. I'm pretty obsessed with Toms. I actually first heard about them at a Hanson show back in 2007 when we did a barefoot walk for poverty :)

I shouldn't have bought so many pairs of Doc Martens back in the late 90's because I'd have like $1000 extra dollars right now and that'd be awesome.

I get side stitches occassionally but what I've been told is that leaning the opposite way and taking deep breaths helps. I've tried it and it actually works!

I have a confession... But you guys can't beat me up okay?!??!?

I used to hate running. DESPISED IT.

I was on a competitve dance team all throughout high school and every Friday we had morning practice. Before we could go and shower we had to run one mile on the track outside... No matter what the weather was.
I hated it! One mile was soooo long!

Funny how times change... Now I'm training for my first marathon!

I also have an addiction to Starbucks, shoes, and purses... I own a purse that costs more than one months rent of my apartment... oops!

Major confession: In college I was a tanorexic. I no longer spend $$ on that and I have no desire to get in a tanning machine that will give me wrinkles. (but I do miss that nice glow).

I spend so much money on running (i.e. races, traveling to races, hotels for races, running clothes, etc) and the rest of my money goes to FOOOOOD! :)

It was on my way home from my lifeguarding job and they are soo goood... but then I bought my own protein powder and started saving the 5 dollars I spent on them, plus saved the planet since no more styrofoam containers!!!

Confessions: I have a fear of painting my nails. I used to do it all the time, but now I freak out when I think about it because of the amount of time and yucky remover fumes it took to get the stuff off.
Also, I HATE when people touch my face or hair. Don't know why, but I always cringe. Something to do with my cousins constantly braiding my hair when I was little??

I get cramps on the run if I haven't eaten anything and it's a hard workout, or if I have had a lot of fiber that day, or if I am nervous. AKA avoid apples and anxiety before races.

I have spent a small fortune on magazines. Now at least my tastes have upgraded to running/health/fitness magazines. Well, mostly. :)

Oh I definitely used to get my acrylics rebased and a pedicure every two weeks pre-marriage! Funny when you share a bank account/budget how $100 a month on nails seems ridiculous!! Also...I re-wear my workout clothes multiple times every week. I run at 5am, so what does it matter if I'm stinky?!? Hehehe!

I used to get my nails done all the time! Back when I had a job (pre-college!), I got to spend my spending money on pretty much whatever, and I was a manager of a store after awhile so I had it goin' on :D Now that I'm in college and jobless, not so much. It's painful to buy toilet paper (you go through it SO fast...)

Confession: I just walked into the kitchen to make some tea and came back with ice cream. I have no idea how that happened.

I used to get cramps all of the time but they've gone away now. You can totally go for burgers and broccoli, balance right? =P

Some days I only put on makeup to cover up the makeup I didn't take off the day before

I workout and sweat like a man-pig almost daily... I wash my hair about once a week =)

I used to pay to go to the tanning salon! Makes me SO sad. Lots of $$$$ AND damaging my skin? Bummer. I love your confession posts. #7 - my Billy always catches me in the act, too! Usually when I'm looking for chocolate chips.

I loved these confessions girl! :) Too funny!! I get side stiches a lot, but I've learned that it's worse (for me) to stop running--usually if I just keep running they will eventually go away. But it's NOT fun when they happen!

haha I love this. I break out into random dancing all the time too. In fact, I'm trying to convince my bf I need to buy a laptop and my #1 reason was: Well I can have random dance parties in any room, NOT just the computer room! He didn't think that was that exciting...

Do you get cramps/side stiches when you run?

YES and I hate it. I have to stop sometimes because it hurt too much.

confession: I still watch General Hospital

I love all the confessions! I don't get side stitches, but I also do not run nearly as much as you do. I have always been pretty frugal, but I used to buy too many clothes and shoes!!! I am doing much better... kind of. I teach Zumba and I spend more than I would like to on Zumba apparel and shoes, but I justify it because I wear it all just as much as my regular work clothes. The majority of my money goes towards FOOD and I'm completely okay with that. :)

I'm glad you snack in church! Our church is very laid back and casual, and we offer breakfast items and coffee for people to bring into worship, so I'm ALWAYS eating through church!

Confession...I almost ALWAYS eat really smart (lots of veggies, fruits, whole grains, limited sugar, etc)...but one night during Christmas break I was up at like 3 a.m. watching The Hangover and I definitely ate half a bag of pretzel crisps, a bowl of cereal, oatmeal, some nuts, and like 4 chocolate chip cookies...oops!

I've wasted more money than I'd like to admit on clothes. I cut down when we got married and therefore joint finances...but I cut down even more back in November, just to see if I could!

That burger looks awesome... I think it's about time I have one...

And, luckily I don't have side stitches/cramps very often. I can't remember the last time. I think it's usually due to scarfing down a snack too close to a longer run.

I have never heard of eyelash extensions...what the what? how does that work? seems like it would have to involves someone with very tiny hands...

Hey! I'm a newbie to the blog world and LOVE your blogs!!

I get side stitches all the time! But I'm new to the running thing so who knows why?
During a healthy eating stretch my husband caught me hiding a bag of cheetos in my glove box.... I'm a fat kid at heart....
I danced across the finish line of myfirst 5k!! ( well danced AFTER the finish line... Just last week!!)
My sister and I can not take pictures together without making weird faces, it embarasses our mom!

You are Soo helping me stay motivated, and not feel so guilty when I eat cheese fries with my beer!!

And trust me, it is SUCH an effort for me to make a 'nice' face for the camera!! I ruin every group photo EVER taken! :P

Confession: I drink so much water I have to get up 1000 times in the night to pee. Gross fact of the century!!

I would definitely say going out to coffee in college was a serious wallet drain.

I usually don't get side stitches unless I eat something horribly unhealthy right before I run, you know, like cheese from a can. What are you talking about? I never eat that.

I use to spend too much money on running showes I couldnt run in, I am a pronator, and stabilty shoes are UGLY, so I would buy neutral shoes so I can look cool, cuz all the cool looking shoes are neutral shoes.

I confess that last night I ate a whole Chipotle burrito when I said I was going to eat half and save the rest and today work is buying us pizza, thats 2 cheat days in a row, not my normal mantra (I had a coupon for BOGO at chipotle, like I was gonna waste that)

My confessions: 1. I stalk your blog looking for pictures of your hair cut/color because I want it on me :)(I hope you don't mind my hairstylist seeing the picture of you picking your nose because I love the color and layers ha!) 2. I dance while I'm running on the treadmill... at the gym! If a good song comes on I just can't help it and if the people beside me think I'm crazy, oh well. 3. I won't put myself in a coma for Skittles, but Chinese food will get me every time (about 1x a month)! Also, I used to spend too much money on drinking alcohol. I'm so very thankful and blessed that those dark days are behind me. P.S. I haven't gone to spin yet, but as soon as I do I will let you know how it goes.

I ALWAYS get side stiches so much so that before big races I cant eat anything and we have to eat a super early dinner. We tried everyting to fix them but this is the only thing that works. Tip - massage teh side stitch and it should help it go away. hmmmm something I wish i hadnt bought..I suppose I dont reallllly need all those nail polishes ha

Hmmm if it still hurts it might not be a side stitch. I had the same thing happen at a race a few years back when I was hauling booty downhill, I actually strained an ab muscle. Hopefully that's not it though!

I like to bust out terrible dance moves all the time, luckily the boyf does too, so we're freaks together. :)

Confession #1: I am like a money hoarder. I worry about sepnding money because something "might" happen and I could have used the money I just spent on the thing that might happen. Grocery shopping doesn't count. But thanks to that I have a nice chunk of change saved up (for a future home purchase).

Confession #2: I buy my clothes at Good Will and I STILL look like I spent a fortune. No lie, I get tons of compliments all the time. This one goes along with Confession #1 because I think clothes are a waste of my money...Especially when I could use that money to buy my first home.

Confession #3: The thought of actually writing that huge check for the down payment on a home scares me to my very core (we're talking anxiety attack, here). WHAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENS?!?

I have an addiction to ridiculously expensive hair products... like a $50 Kerastase deep conditioning treatment that you could only use 3 times... or a $40 bottle of Morrocan Oil shampoo. Not on a regular basis, but definitely in moments of weakness. And those are in CANADIAN funds so it's even worse than it would sound to you!!

Clothes. Each time I go to Target I come home with at least one item of clothing I had no intention of buying. LOL. I'm working on it.

I get side stitches if I eat too much or am not hydrated enough before my run.
