Christmas Favorites

Look who joined me for a little Christmas trot.......

IMG_3137.JPG

It's THE Billy.  The temps were perfect and of course I wanted to impress a certain someone by running speedy.

Hilly 3 mile run in 20:52.....I am loving my new little pace keeper:)

We came home and opened our stockings (I never want to grow up) and dug into these cinnamon rolls that the sister-in-law and I made yesterday.  (Recipe to come tomorrow).

IMG_3150.JPG

(Prepare them the day before and cook them for 3/4ths the time recommended.  Freeze overnight and stick them in the oven that morning for the remaining time and they taste fresh without having to get up at 5:30 a.m. to bake)

Some of the favorite gifts:

IMG_3156.jpg

My bro-in-law literally wrapped up a banana, orange, broccoli and a visa gift card to buy produce with.  He knows me way too well.

It looks like I am crying, because I am.....I was laughing so hard.

IMG_3160.JPG

This is a date night gift basket from my in-laws, the other married siblings got one too.  Not awkward at all.  Yes, that is massage oil and a candle.

Billy gave me this book.....already, so so good.  Dean Karnazes is my hero.

IMG_3201.jpg

In case you are wondering I wore these pj's for at least 36 hours straight.....only changing once into running clothes and then right back into them.

Spent the afternoon playing, 'Minute to Win It," and manicures at our friends house.

IMG_3172.jpg

IMG_3178.jpg

IMG_3185.jpg

That would be Billy shaking his booty trying to get the candy canes out of the tissue box.

Glitter nails.  At least I am not the only twenty something year old girl trying to be a tween.  To defend myself I did stop watching Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen movies almost a year ago.

IMG_3200.JPG

Ended the perfect day by watching 'Despicable Me' and 'Inception' while eating some more cinnamon rolls dipped into hot cocoa with a side of popcorn on top of M&M's.

Tell me your highlights from Christmas.

What was the best goodie you ate on Christmas?

-Mine was definitely the homemade cinnamon rolls.  I could dip 95% of my daily food intake into that frosting and be happy.

Yesterday I was up at 7am because the nephew was up and wanted to open presents! After presents I went on the run with Brian and then came back and ate the rest of the day. More family came over and we ate more. Today I got up and ran early and have been trying not to eat as much! Its been fun. Definitely a very relaxing holiday!

It's so funny to see how many people watched Despicable Me yesterday, because my family and I watched it too! Along with the new Wall Street. Awesome.

I actually sneaked a bike into the house and under the tree and surprised my hubby. That was pretty darn difficult since our old house has ZERO storage, no attic, no basement, no garage! I left it in my car and parked around the corner for days!

Mmm, those cinnamon rolls look to-die-for! Can't wait for the recipe. I think my favorite was a trifle I made. It's one of those wear you could just keep shoveling it in and eat the whole thing before you know it. ;)

I made buckeyes (aka bonbons... peanut butter and chocolate and a little bit of heaven) on Christmas Eve, and cheesecake yesterday. TOTALLY about to eat some...today still counts as a holiday, right?

The cinnamon buns look AMAZING. So jealous. Dunking them in cocoa is proooobably the best idea I've ever heard.

Beyond jealous to see you wearing shorts for a run on xmas - my run included cold weather gear, tights, gloves and a face mask... seriously why cant they make cute girl winter gear??? The face mask is a must to not have your breath taken away by the freezing cold wind hitting you... I look like some crazy stalker or something!

Honestly, it looks like a fantasticc Christmas. I definitely love that your in laws gave you massage oil... and the book under the sheets. Is dinner before or after? Bahaha!

The best thing I atae yesterday? Cinnamon rolls, definitely. I didn't get to eat any last year after figuring out I was gluten intolerant, and this year I went out and made my own! Absolutely to die for!

Y'all are so cute! Billy is speedy like you- impressive! I love the look of concentration on your face with the ping pong game. I ate so many yummy things yesterday. Billy's mom makes an angel food chocolate peppermint fluff cake that is amazing - melts in your mouth. Now I'm craving popcorn and M&Ms. Mmm.

Your family looks so fun!! I love playing games like that. My highlight was definitely watching my son since this is the first year he (kind of) got it. He would jump from my lap to my husband's each time we got a present. Then he'd go "ooh!" as if he was so excited for a shirt I got. :) He'd say "choo choo" for each of his, sure that everyone heard him tell Santa he wanted trains this year! :) It was awesome.
